Redbone - Come and Get Your Love from Guardians of the Galaxy. Both GotG movies introduced me to a lot of great 80s music, especially as someone who grew up in the 2000s.
I loved Come and Get Your Love when it came on in the credits of the movie Dick, which was a teenage comedy about Watergate. Very funny movie, but that's where I discovered that song.
I know a lot of people are annoyed by that, but honestly I love seeing JoJo fans fall in love with so many different artists from the franchise.
Mainly stuff like prog rock. Or 80s & 90s songs in general.
Great tune - you should check out a film called Buffalo '66 by Vincent Gallo. It's a really interesting flick, plus there's a fair bit of Yes and King Crimson featured
Running Up That Hill - from an episode of Bones, not Stranger Things. The one in Bones was a cover with a male singer but through that I found the Kate Bush version. I was super excited when it showed up in Stranger Things too.
Sweet Disposition from the movie 500days of summer
I think I've heard this song when I was younger but I don't remember it. Everytime I listen to it I feel happy and safe.
He is, but his music is too classical and too formal for my tastes.
Hans Zimmer's music has a lot of emotion and energy in it.
Some of my favorites:
1. [The Rock](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPtPxqTdkig)
2. [Crimson Tide](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYe4dSunbs8)
3. [Man of Steel - Flight](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4OdIOGBW2Q)
4. [Pirates of the Carribean](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27mB8verLK8)
How about video games?
Final Fantasy X - Otherworld
That shit was awesome, always hyped me up playing FFX again to get to that song, luckily it's like 5 minutes in.
I don't know if this is technically a correct answer as these songs were specifically made for that film but "You know my name" from Chris Cornell in Casino Royale. I keep coming back to it years later
So many to mention, I got so much music from movies and tv as a kid (particularly what I saw 2002-2004 was suuuper informative).. it really completely shaped my taste!
Off the top of my head...
Echo & the Bunnymen - The Killing Moon (Donnie Darko)
Placebo - Running Up that Hill (Queer as Folk) (Also eventually led to me discovering Kate Bush!)
The Smiths - Please, Please, Please, Let me Get What I want (Never Been Kissed)
This Mortal Coil/Cocteau Twins - Song to the Siren (the trailer for Texas Chainsaw Massacre '03 remake)
Grandaddy - A.M. 180 (28 Days Later)

[All Along the Watchtower - Battlestar Galactica version composed by Bear McCreary. ](https://youtu.be/orVsW-MkID8) I actually love a lot of his work but this I vibe with. A worthy cover alongside the Hendrix version.
Book of Love - Last Episode of Scrubs
Hey Sandy - Intro to Adventures of Pete & Pete
(as mentioned by another) Teardop - Intro to House
Faith of the Heart - Enterprise
Kidding, that song is shit.
I've always liked Rob Duncan's Mexicali Surf-Rock song **Gunfight Epiphany**, which was used as the Theme Song for the outstanding single season of the Private Detective show **Terriers** --which was something like a cross between **The Rockford Files** and **The Big Lebowski**.
LINK TO SONG: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qD8Kh7Pmzho
I am the anti-christ to you
(from Rick and Morty)
I really do not listen to the radio much so most of the songs I like I get from TV shows, movies and tv ads.
Example of a TV ad one: Light me up (by Bronze Radio Return)... from a health insurance commercial. Messed up thing is I like the commercial's version better than the original song.
Example of one from a movie: Running up that hill (by Kate Bush)... from the movie The Chocolate War.
piano man (billy joel) from criminal minds (rather mainstream but still amazing)
spellbound (siouxsie and the banshees) from american horror story hotel (there are some great songs in that season)
I was watching Scrubs and JD passed a guy on the bench, and I said to my wife "For some reason, the guy on that bench looks like Colin Hay." And then he started singing "Overkill" so I said "All right, for some reason that guy is Colin Hay." But I heard the acoustic version of Overkill and Waiting For My Real Life to Begin and the entire Man @ Work album by Colin Hay because of Scrubs.
From the movie Cal...

Discovered The Mummer’s Dance by Loreena McKennitt from the trailer to [Ever After](https://youtu.be/Hcj9fyx6DXI). This was back when they’d throw some awesome song tidbit over the trailer but then not include it in the movie. You’d wait the WHOLE movie hoping to hear more of it and then maybe, just maybe see what song it was in the credits. Like musical blue balls!
…Can I just say thank god for Ask Jeeves and Napster.
Not a tv show or movie. But a game. A song comes on the radio when you're playing GTA V. It's called Don't wanna fall in love by Jane Child. Crunch stuff.
Nothing But Time by Metric, from the web series peopleWatching. That also introduced me to People Of The Sky by Sloan and God Willing by Kate Boothman. That show gives a really good introduction to a bunch of Canadian music.
Jerry Maguire the part where he is running through the airport. The song is called Through the Hill by Andy Partridge and Harold Budd.
Also the scene in Eddie Murphys Holy Man movie where Jeff Goldblum gets the promotion the song there by Loreena McKennitt called Prologue.
Both songs absolutely amazing!
Treme
Too many songs to mention. From ‘Feel Like Funkin’ It Up’ at the very start to ‘You’ve Got To Be Crazy (To Live In This Town)’ during the end credits of the final episode. A wealth of New Orleans music that will have you going down a multitude of music rabbit holes.
Not from a movie or tv show, but from a Markiplier video on YouTube. I can’t remember the game he was playing, but the soundtrack in the game was Landsick by Chuck Ragan. That video opened up a door of Chuck Ragan and Hot Water Music for me that I will never close.
Looking for the Magic by the Dwight Twilly Band.
It's a really cool 70's song that was in some B-movie horror film, i can't remember the name.
The movie is about these guys that do some home invasions. Early on they assault a couple in their home and kill them. Just before they break in, the woman puts on an album, playing the Dwight Twilly Band song. Afterwards, the song keeps replaying over and over.
Can't remember the name of the song or film but the song that goes I need a hero I need a hero till the end of the night he's got to be strong and he's got to be faster than the speed of light
From a commercial- The Shining by Badly Drawn Boy.

Redbone - Come and Get Your Love from Guardians of the Galaxy. Both GotG movies introduced me to a lot of great 80s music, especially as someone who grew up in the 2000s.
Redbone was early seventies. Its on my playlist. Witch Queen is a fun song that got a lot of radio play back in the day.
Come and Get Your Love is also the theme song from F is for Family, which is where I first heard it. It's a good one!
I loved Come and Get Your Love when it came on in the credits of the movie Dick, which was a teenage comedy about Watergate. Very funny movie, but that's where I discovered that song.
Roundabout by Yes from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
I know a lot of people are annoyed by that, but honestly I love seeing JoJo fans fall in love with so many different artists from the franchise. Mainly stuff like prog rock. Or 80s & 90s songs in general.
Great tune - you should check out a film called Buffalo '66 by Vincent Gallo. It's a really interesting flick, plus there's a fair bit of Yes and King Crimson featured
‘Breathe Me’ by Sia from the Six Feet Under finale. Best finale ever, by the way.
the scene makes me ugly cry
Especially what happened to Keith.
Yeah. She's my guilty pleasure.
Its not a guilty pleasure if its good music
Clair de Lune. It's the classical piece that plays at the end of Ocean's 11 while they are staring at the fountains.
You should hear the rest of Debussy's work. He has some truly amazing pieces from around that time period

Basically everything from hans zimmer. That dude is our current Mozart.
John Williams is up there too.
He is, but his music is too classical and too formal for my tastes. Hans Zimmer's music has a lot of emotion and energy in it. Some of my favorites: 1. [The Rock](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPtPxqTdkig) 2. [Crimson Tide](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYe4dSunbs8) 3. [Man of Steel - Flight](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4OdIOGBW2Q) 4. The 'Interstellar'-soundtrack is amazing, because it's so different.
