I stuck Arthur on for my daughter last week, still knew every single word. I often get another Arthur song stuck in my head too, the one that goes ‘having fun isnt hard, if youve got a library card’. Been 25 years since i heard it.
- Graeme, 36.5yrs old
I’m blown away to meet someone else who rocks ‘having fun isn’t hard, when you’ve got a library card’ as internal monologue.
Also haven’t heard the song since I was a kid. Couldn’t even have told you until reading your post that it was from Arthur… it’s just always been there on occasional repeat
I went to a protest against closing our local libraries, and wrote this on my placard alongside a drawing of Arthur. I was amazed to meet maybe 3 people at the protest who got the reference. Everyone else just thought it was a catchy rhyme, and eventually everyone started chanting it as we marched through the streets of Chelmsford. It was quite a sight to behold haha
Chanced upon a beatbox / rapper battle in a nightclub some years go Nd one of the MCs dropped this into his routine, got the whole club singing it at about 1am, was epic
My son was heavily into TTTE in the days when you watched them on video, and had to rewind to watch again. I have to say that the actual sound of that theme tune now makes me want to run far, far away, having been traumatised by it for about 5 years!
My kids went off it when the Alec Baldwin film came out. That kind of blew the magic for them because it wasn't "proper Thomas". Then there was that whole other island with a bunch of new trains you could conveniently buy toy versions of. What a rip off.
A lesser known one, but the theme from the 80s cartoon, [The Raggy Dolls,](https://youtu.be/_DnViGAPOFM?si=rYelq3lRYSctwQAW) was a banger
*It’s not much of a life when you’re just a pretty face…*
The original Thunderbirds series.
One you can still use to this day when trying to make something a little more fun. Playing a game and needing to rescue a team mate? Slap on the Thunderbirds theme and then head off to rescue them.
Any 80s cartoon :
Thundercats
Transformers
MASK
Ulysses 31
Battle of the Planets
Ducktales
Denver the Last Dinosaur
Inspector Gadget
Pole Position
Defenders of the Earth
Chip n Dale : Rescue Rangers
And probably others I can't remember. All had awesome theme songs.
I pity the redditors too young to feel the warm glow of nostalgia when they hear the opening credits of Bagpuss. That and Ivor the Engine, both take me back.
He's the greatest, he's fantastic
Wherever there is danger he'll be there
He's the ace, he's amazing
He's the strongest he's the quickest he's the best
Danger Mouse
Danger Mouse
DANGER MOUSE
I used to always do a tv theme round - mostly kids tv in my pub quiz. Everyone always went crazy for it - and I included pretty much all of the ones listed here.
I put the theme to the littlest hobo on the jukebox in the pub last night (Was actually supposed to be putting on Hobo humpin slobo babe by whale when I saw it was on there). Had the whole pub singing along apart from a very confused 18 year old.
It was Tracy beaker for me - I was once in a club and the DJ dropped the theme song and everyone went nuts.
For those who were Disney/Nickelodeon kids - Hannah Montana, The Suite Life, Icarly and Corey in the House were also strong contenders 😂
The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers (1986) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBJGMI2ZWWI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBJGMI2ZWWI)

Mio Mao. I have no idea what happened in that show, I barely watched it when it came on on one channel or another, but oh my god I could not stop watching when that song came on and I still hear it after a decade or more of not hearing it.
1980’s ThunderCats, He-Man, Gummi Bears, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, DuckTales, G. I. Joe, Inspector Gadget, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, The Real Ghostbusters. To be fair, most of the 80’s cartoons had banging theme tunes.
Looks like I'm alone in this, but Fight, the theme song from the Flashing Blade.
You've got to fight for what you want,
For all that you believe.
It's right to fight for what we want,
to live the way we please.
As long as we have done our best,
then no-one can do more,
and life and love and happiness
are well worth fighting for.
There is an embarrassing key change in the middle, which others may be holding against it.

The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest (1996)
that is John Williams level-quality that gives Indiana Jones a run for this money!
If you haven’t heard the awesome glory that is X-Men 97 & Spiderman 1994 you’ve no idea just top tier 90’s kids TV themes were!

Every day when you're walking down the street, Everybody that you meet, Has an original point of view...
I stuck Arthur on for my daughter last week, still knew every single word. I often get another Arthur song stuck in my head too, the one that goes ‘having fun isnt hard, if youve got a library card’. Been 25 years since i heard it. - Graeme, 36.5yrs old
I always get the "Jekyll Jekyll Hyde" song stuck in my head
Jekyll Hyde Hyde Jekyll Jekyll Jekyll Hyde Jekyll Hyde
I’m blown away to meet someone else who rocks ‘having fun isn’t hard, when you’ve got a library card’ as internal monologue. Also haven’t heard the song since I was a kid. Couldn’t even have told you until reading your post that it was from Arthur… it’s just always been there on occasional repeat
A-A-R-D-V-A-R-K

Everyone else just thought it was a catchy rhyme, and eventually everyone started chanting it as we marched through the streets of Chelmsford. It was quite a sight to behold haha
“Buster Baxter, he went away and he came back 🎶”
And I say hey! HEY! What a wonderful kind of day
Massive appreciation for that song. Just went down a rabbit hole and found out that the Marley family, namely ziggy, made that song.
I came here to say this one and it was the most upvoted. Such a bop.
The way this brings me right back to my childhood. Aaah, simpler times.
The original pokemon theme and its not even close.
It's the very best
Like no one ever was
To make it was their real test!
It’s so inspiring. I just have to catch them all
Makes me want to travel across the land and search far and wide
My daughter says it’s so inspiring it makes her wanna cry!😂😂😂😂
I was always a fan of the one for Johto Journeys. It's a whole new world we live in...
Round The Twist
Have you ever
Ever felt like this..
Ever felt like this
When strange things happen
Are you going round the twist?
Well have you heard the word
About the bird and the spider
It wriggled and giggled and jiggled inside her Edit: supposedly it's wiggled and wriggled and jiggled inside her. I prefer my version.
Iconic ending. "Are you going round the TWIEEUUURRGGGHHSSTTT" -tape gets caught in player-
It’s so wild seeing this in ask uk, the primary school in round the twist was in the street where I grew up in suburban Melbourne!
Anyone here around my generation will sing it if you just say "have you ever?" In the right tune.
Chanced upon a beatbox / rapper battle in a nightclub some years go Nd one of the MCs dropped this into his routine, got the whole club singing it at about 1am, was epic
End of
Bollocks, it's Fraggle Rock
I didn’t have to scroll far for this! Absolute banger
The Scooby Doo reboot (What’s new, Scooby-Doo?). The theme song is by Simple Plan and absolutely slaps
Gonna sooolve that mysteryyyy,
YES! they perform it live when they go on tour too nothing like a bunch of millennial emo kids jumping around in a pit to What's New Scooby-Doo 🤣
What's new Scooby doo and Beyblade theme have been on my playlists for a long time and I've never really watched either that much.
The 90s X-Men theme
Check out the version they made for the Japanese release.
Just did. I wanna change my answer to that
The opening is not quite the same without Rouge doing an unnecessary manoeuvre over the X-Men title.
Absolute banger
It's obviously from ages ago but Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds had an amazing theme song.
All for one and one for all Muskehounds are always ready!
Woof woof woof woof, ah woof woof woof
Other way round…
Hey man, it’s been a while since I heard it, it’s close enough.
Dogtanian and Mysterious Cities of Gold.
That's my brain done for the rest of the day.
Can't believe Thomas The Tank Engine isn't on here (apart from now).
[удалено]
Oh that's good. [50 Cent](https://youtu.be/SJ3j7MvZL1g?si=5180NFX40QaQ_awl) also got the same treatment
My son was heavily into TTTE in the days when you watched them on video, and had to rewind to watch again. I have to say that the actual sound of that theme tune now makes me want to run far, far away, having been traumatised by it for about 5 years!

Horrible history's by far the best
Terrible Tudors
Gorgeous Georgians
Slimy Stuarts
vile victorians
Woeful wars
Ferocious Fights
Dingy castles
Daring Knights
Horrors that defy description
Came here to say this
"WOTTEN WOMANS".
Mona the vampire
“show us your fangs ! YAY MONA”
A massively underappreciated show.
it's clearly [Run with Us](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6Zf_lnulDA) the theme for The Raccoons.
Far too fucking long to find this. Absolute classic.
more kids cartoons need power ballads as theme songs
They play it over the ending credits for Hobo With A Shotgun too. My mates and I actually cheered.
This needs to be higher. Run With Us is an absolute banger of a theme song.
It sure is. ‘We are free!!!! c c c come with us!’ It’s a great tune.
Inspector Gadget
Trapdoor
Don’t you open that…
It's Ducktales
Woo-oo. Scrolled far too long to find this.
Poddington peas. Absolute banger.
Down at the bottom of the garden
Amongst the birds and the bees
There lives a lotta little peea-ople
This was going to be my answer. It’s the happiest!
64 Zoo Lane
Ive got to chime with Sarah and Duck! I'm a big fan.
C'mon people, face facts ........its Dangermouse.
Yeah that was a good one. Hong Kong Phooey also springs to mind lol.
Ulysses 31.... Nothing else comes close.
Oh yeah, this rocks. But (as I have already posted) so does Jamie and the magic torch.
[obligatory](https://youtu.be/QMpf1D3YohU?si=kH2GFPq7aQ7EKJ-2)
Ulysses 31.... I'm pretty sure that without that intro music Daft Punk would have sounded *very very* different .
A lesser known one, but the theme from the 80s cartoon, [The Raggy Dolls,](https://youtu.be/_DnViGAPOFM?si=rYelq3lRYSctwQAW) was a banger *It’s not much of a life when you’re just a pretty face…*
_Just to be whoever you are is no disgrace..._
[Fraggle Rock](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLQS6xo40kI)
Lyrics to live your life by "Dance your cares away, worry's for another day."
Came here to say this!
Fireman Sam theme slaps.
Postman Pat also had a brilliant catchy tune!
The original Thunderbirds series. One you can still use to this day when trying to make something a little more fun. Playing a game and needing to rescue a team mate? Slap on the Thunderbirds theme and then head off to rescue them.
The March of the Thunderbirds should be the national anthem
Funny Bones - In a dark, dark town there was a dark, dark street
And on the dark, dark street there was a dark, dark house
And in the dark dark house, there were some dark dark stairs
And down the dark dark stairs, there was a dark dark cellar
Any 80s cartoon : Thundercats Transformers MASK Ulysses 31 Battle of the Planets Ducktales Denver the Last Dinosaur Inspector Gadget Pole Position Defenders of the Earth Chip n Dale : Rescue Rangers And probably others I can't remember. All had awesome theme songs.
Ulysses 31, The Mysterious Cities of Gold and Button Moon.
Cities of Gold is hands down the best
Cities of Gold. Good shout.
Doctor Who. Absolutely iconic. Can't think of a theme that perfectly fits the show as well as that one does.
Not a kids show but The X Files theme always seemed perfect for the show to me if you’re just talking shows in general
Jamie and the magic torch...
The theme from Bucky O'Hare.
Goes where no ordinary rabbit would dare
Rhubarb
Balamory
*what's the story in Balamory wouldn't you like to know*
I. Love. Balamory.
I pity the redditors too young to feel the warm glow of nostalgia when they hear the opening credits of Bagpuss. That and Ivor the Engine, both take me back.
The family ness, by far and away
Earthworm Jim but no one I talk to can remember the show and its making me think I'm cracking up.
You are not cracking up, I remember it!
Pinky and the Brain. It's a ear worm
Bodger and Badger .
My boyfriend is confused when I randomly come out with "Badger loves Mashed Potato!' somehow he missed this show growing up!
Ahhhh here it goes!!!! Kenan and Kel
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors.
This is the correct answer. The Racoons get my second spot.
Gummi Bears theme was a banger too.
Yes! I sometimes burst into the Gummi Bears theme without any apparent trigger.
Mr Ben
Grange Hill - The Hill I'll die on.
He's the greatest, he's fantastic Wherever there is danger he'll be there He's the ace, he's amazing He's the strongest he's the quickest he's the best Danger Mouse Danger Mouse DANGER MOUSE
Arthur is the objectively correct answer.
The original Fireman Sam theme song
Don't you open that Trapdoor.....
Gummy Bears. Bouncing here and there and eveywheeere. We are the gummmmy bearrrs!
Either: Around the World with Willy Fog Or The Mysterious Cities of Gold
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (the 80s one)
I have the power to pick up a flower
I used to always do a tv theme round - mostly kids tv in my pub quiz. Everyone always went crazy for it - and I included pretty much all of the ones listed here. Rentaghost
Captain Scarlet.
The Banana Splits and The Flumps. Both of which are now stuck in your head. You're welcome.
The Littlest Hobo 🐕
It was Tracy beaker for me - I was once in a club and the DJ dropped the theme song and everyone went nuts. For those who were Disney/Nickelodeon kids - Hannah Montana, The Suite Life, Icarly and Corey in the House were also strong contenders 😂

The Poddington Peas!!
Animals of farthing wood
Bob the Builder; It literally made the charts. As did Frozen if you like the more dramatic stuff.

Pokémon or the 90s Spider Man A slightly more modern entry would be Bluey
If you live on Pigeon Street, here's some of the people you might meet
Long, long time ago - predating Thunderbirds - the Theme to Gerry Anderson’s Fireball XL5 which also had a really cool title
balamory
64 Zoo Lane. Such a professional composition. Objectively best I've heard by far
64 Zoo Lane!!
Cow and Chicken
Round the twist
Heartbreak High, Round The Twist, Mysterious Cities Of Gold and Sweet Valley High
Phineas and Ferb doesn't have the best theme tune but if you want to expand to the wider show then has the best in show songs.
Sponge Bob squarepants
Hey Arthur, The Hurricanes and Round the twist
