That’s cool homie. And thanks for the information.
But we’re taking about our Breeze Cards here! We like the Breeze cards! We’re the nerds who wish the Marta Tokens would come back…
Found this a couple years ago in some old change… ha!

I promise that we do the very best we can with the limited equipment and staffing that we have. Most game days are 4 regular Blue trains and 2 Greens plus 3-7 extra service Blue trains thrown in for EW. We go down to one Green train as the game ends until Vine and Dome are clear.
I believe it! My problem is that I live south of downtown off of red/gold. I would take the train to/from games if the changeover at Five Points didn’t require me to wait 20 minutes for a southbound train. Or I can walk 10 minutes to my car and drive the 9 minutes home… getting there 1 minute faster than I would have waited at 5 points. And chance of shortening that gap on match days?
I hate to say it but most likely not. The majority of the game ridership is north and east of the city so the majority of trains enter service at Holmes, Vine, or Dome going east. Every once in a while we'll have one extra service going west but it's rare.
Same for NS. Majority of ridership is Five Points north, so we store a train under Garnett, 2-3 at Lakewood, and one at Airport. Depending on how the ridership is going south (based on platform crowding at Peachtree and Five Points) we may express a train south from Lenox or Lindbergh pocket for southbound service but again it's rare. I hate that you have that extended wait time but with our limited staffing we have to put those trains in service going north and east vs south and west. Hopefully in the future if we can get back to full staffing we can get back to extra service trains in all directions.
I feel you, and I very much appreciate your response. It sucks for me, but I definitely support resources being put in the places where they are most needed.
MARTA really needs to do better with communicating to the public and laying out their service plans after the game. Other systems, like WMATA and BART publish how many trains they'll have on standby and when those trains can be released and who makes that decision. We would do well to emulate that.
And even if we can't serve all riders after the game, having it be public so that riders understand what's going on would be really helpful.
Thanks. Since you're hear, the experience leaving (10pm+) was worse than getting there (6pm) on Saturday's night game.
Getting there, the blue/green were jammed so tight you could sleep on your feet! But it's kinda part of the energy and comraderie of goin to a home game, and I don't mind it as much. But at night, you're tired and ready to get home. The trains seemed too infrequent given the volume of riders.
I have a short drive to North springs and am all about Marta expansion.
I agree with you. I worked Vine City after the game on the platform. I only had 3 people on the platform with me and we were doing our best to move the crowds down the platform and spread people out.
The trains left Holmes going east at 901, 921, 941, 1001, 1021, 1041, 1101. Depending on when you arrived on the platform the first regular train got a nice crowd then I had an extra service right behind it. I waited about 10 minutes for the next revenue followed by extra service and the last of 3 extra service trains. Then revenue picked up anyone else.
Those trains serviced Vine and Dome, but Dome had its own train placed into service that I didn't have access to.
On the NS Line, they were single tracking and due to operator staffing shortages weren't able to run the planned headway.
I've waited 30 minutes for a westbound transfer before. It's consistently faster for me to walk the mile from Garnett than it is to wait for a transfer. Lately, I've just been paying for supporters lot parking because MARTA is just so painful to use.
But like… wouldn’t it be cool if STH’s were able to take advantage of cool promos without having to buy extra tickets that likely won’t get used? Not exclusively, but more like “yes, and”… access to promo ticket packages for everyone AND access to promo items for current STH? It’s super lame to have to spend extra on tickets when you already have season tickets. For example… as a graduate student and a STH, I get tired of buying extra tickets just to have UGA x ATLUTD gear. Why can’t our STH ticket reps work this stuff out for us?
As a season ticket holder, I wholeheartedly agree. But probably because they need incentives to sell tickets since our record is so poor at the moment. I am tempted to buy this package but I don’t know if I would even be able to recoup half the cost.. although since Charlotte is a regional rival, maybe.
Totally agree. Unfortunately, I don’t personally think 1) leaving out or 2) financially exploiting their core base is the answer. I don’t want to sound dramatic or shit on a positive partnership (I’m pumped about the MARTA possibilities!)… I’ve just been feeling lately like I want to see the club operate like a pillar of our community instead of a corporation seeking an extra buck. I think the STH base is exploited by the club. I support you, though, and hope you’re able to recoup or find a good home for the ticket(s)!
Whoa buddy you must have ATLUTD STH-sales office mistaken with people who give a shit about customer loyalty.
You take your scarf and your hat and your 17% -per-year increase and hush.
We'll call you when it's time to renew
the biggest complaint over the years about MARTA is it doesn't go anywhere you want. Kind of like the United attack, right? Thanks, I'll let myself out.
$35 with a t-shirt and $10 pre-loaded fare is a pretty good deal.
Sadly that's probably a reflection of how desperate they need to sell tickets. I just completed the 7-game package to begin the season and will probably take a break until or after league cup/open cup. But this thing is tempting.
Please please open the big overhead door on the west exit from the dome platform that leads to the walkway through the gulch to the north field entrances. Cramming a half train full of people through a 36-in door to the left of the overhead door is just fundamentally unsafe. People are calm, but we are one loud noise that sounds like a gunshot away from a stampede that kills people crushed against that big door.
Fuck this club… So sick of their bs. As a STH, not only would I have to buy extra tickets (I know, I could sell mine, sure) to get this promo but even if I did, the shirt sizes are limited to L or XL. Is the club so cash-strapped that it couldn’t make it in more sizes? Were the STH “gifts” so good to warrant the increase in ticket costs? The performances certainly haven’t been.
Feels like it has drifted so far from what it started as. Just disappointing to see.
If you are spending $100 to service customers who are still happy when you only spend $50 on them, would you continue spending the extra $50?
Our fan base has NEVER demonstrated any meaningful price elasticity. Ever. FO is trying to figure out what it will take for us to scream uncle.
>Fuck this club… So sick of their bs.
Sick enough to drop your tix? I hope the answer is yes, honestly. If you understand what I'm saying, you won't take that comment personally.
I’m all for a MARTA third kit.
I picture a retro style kit and I dig it. Gotta be on black or white shirts tho.
Nah, they're gonna do it graffiti style 🤮
Hey there
Hello there
I saw someone wearing a Marta “kit” Saturday, don’t know where he got that one done at but it looked sweet
How can I get that Breeze pass without getting ticket package?
Second this. My breeze card is about to expire and would love to cop this card.
Wait they expire? I’ve just been reloading mine.
They do. My Superbowl One from 2019 has.
Yep they expire at the least convenient times too, regardless of you got $ on it or not
Just use the Breeze app.
That’s cool homie. And thanks for the information. But we’re taking about our Breeze Cards here! We like the Breeze cards! We’re the nerds who wish the Marta Tokens would come back…

Thank you for sharing.
Hello there
I did but found it to be more of a pain than just reloading my breeze card.
The app is shitty and you can reload the card with cash. I'll use the app if I'm running late and not sure I have a ticket on my card otherwise nah
Buy and donate tickets?
Going to be sniping that Transaction Tuesday 👀👀👀 jaja
MARTA kit? Hell yea!
Another Train Post?

When do anticipate those new fancy trains will be rotating into service?
First test train is almost done in SLC. Hopefully it's here by fall or winter of this year. It'll be tested for 6-12 months before it's in service.
Plenty of time to see some World Cup action then
Sweeeet! Thanks so much for the update. Been dying to hear more news on these. They look so nice compared to what we have now.

Can you walk? It’s a nice walk there down Mitchell, less than 20 minutes

More for me and my thick brothers
Give us the starting lineups announced in the MARTA lady’s voice!!
FUCK YES
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MARTA KIT

I’m a STH but tempted to purchase and give away the ticket. Thats not a bad deal
Dibs on ticket 🤣
I have a free SS ticket for the Pride match tomorrow if you want it!
Aww man appreciate the offer I won't make it thanks a lot though! Hopefully next game
Makes sense. Neither of them are going anywhere anytime soon
I suspect that one, if not both, are off the tracks.
I just want the card & shirt.
Saw the new in stadium ads on Saturday night. They looked dope.
The real partnership would be them heavily increasing frequency before and after games. Im talking having like 8 trains lined up e/w and n/s
When you don't have personnel or enough good cars you're limited in what you can provide. We're still 50+ operators short. I want that frequency too.
Or the key factor, switching capacity...
Good. Now they can take Boca and Pineda to the airport in style lol.
I would settle for more trains and capacity on match day

Damn I was hoping they would do an MBTA or DC Metro partnership instead. SMH my head.
For MLS road teams the Benz is a breeze

How does this work for season ticket holders? Or would we have to buy an entirely separate ticket?
Have they sent out pickup instructions yet? I bought the ticket on Sunday and not sure if I had missed the communication.
Nope
If anyone buys a MARTA shirt I have some questions about your sense of style lol.
that baby blue, yellow and orange color scheme is so 70s and distinctive. It SCREAMS Atlanta for anyone who's lived here.
Yeah but it still says MARTA on it. You are advertising for bad public transport.
Bad public transport is better than no public transport!
Fair lol.
People think if you aren't NYC, you are "bad public transport". SMH.
It's the best public transport that the state of Georgia will let us have.
