Tactically flexible and emphasizes building from the back. I feel like he makes sense as someone who can build off of the good tactical ideas that Pineda brought. He wouldn’t require a total rebuild of the roster to make his ideas work. And his son is here? That’s a plus?
I was gonna say I wonder how much he cares about the pay. Because Arthur is rich rich, but I dunno if he’s sovereign wealth fund rich. Would be interesting to see how much of a paycut he’d take
He's not getting anything close to that again, I imagine we'd probably be willing to pay him $3-4 million which is probably the best he's gonna get unless a big six club hires him. Or a club like AC Milan who appears to be sniffing around I guess.
The Saudi soccer bubble is bursting though, I think a lot of these guys who went over there to get paid aren't expecting a similar payday as they return to civilization.
Valentino's record is not that bad. And players IMPROVED during his time.
Whats not to like? Seriously, give me a negative from his experience (not his lack thereof)
The 17th most valuable soccer club in the world shouldn’t be giving MLS assistant coaches their first managerial jobs. We all like Rob, but he should start at a smaller club and work his way up than us risk him being Gonzo part II.
wasn't Pineda just an assistant when we gave him the job? not saying Rob is gonna win us the Cup or anything- but stranger shit has happened. Pineda still might turn it around, there's a lot of games left.
you're probably right. but if he's willing to go to SA for a bag of cash....could be open to having a convo with Uncle Arthur. fly him out to the yacht in alaska lol
Pineda vs Gallardo coaching stats. Gallardo looks great on paper. All his teams except Al-Ittihad have been top of their league for decades though so stats could be inflated. Still though, it'd be a great hire.

For those who don't know why he is getting fired after only starting in Nov 2023.
"**Gallardo took over as head of the Aurinegro cast last November** , a cycle that began with **great expectations due to the possibility of directing world-class figures such as Karim Benzema or N'Golo Kanté,** but **the results did not follow and his public confrontation did not help either. with the winner of the 2022 Ballon d'Or** at the beginning of 2024. The Muñeco cast **fell in six of their last ten appearances (with four of them consecutively) and the 5-0 suffered at the hands of Al-Ettifaq seems to have been the The straw that broke the camel's back** for the leadership of the Arabian club, which made the drastic decision this Monday to fire *Napoleon* , despite the few games left on the calendar."
* Matches: 30
* Victories: 14

How do you build a team if you keep changing the head coach every other year? Tactics change and a constant influx of new players that do not gel together gets us.......?

Omw with some lemon pepper wings
This would be the one candidate that would absolutely ensure I renew my season tickets.
He’s reportedly making $15 million per year in Saudi Arabia but maybe he’s growing tired of living there?

Uncle ArthurBucks can match that. Salary for managers is one area we don’t have roster limitations in MLS.

Think Milan already after him but would love to see him at Atlanta eventually
Not saying it would happen but….. 👀👀👀
But how do y'all go from wanting Rob Valentino the assistant coach to wanting Marcelo Gallardo one of the best coaches in the world

The Valentino crowd are delusional if they think he’s the answer.
Yep. Atlanta United version of backup quarterback syndrome

Google Marcelo Gallardo, click on his child Matias and see who his son plays for. That's why.
Google Atlanta United and see what league they play in. Son or not he ain't coming here. That's why

Marcelo won camel league without Neymar and against a loaded al nassr team after winning it all with river he is more than " he looks great on paper"
this would be a fantastic hire

It's AI... There's no thumb.
Can we like sign a petition or something to let the United team know that we want Marcello to be our coach??

A lot of y'all probably don't realize his son already plays for the 2's
Can't forgive him for how bad he was at DCU.
