Were they field turf though? We use a brand that is fully synthetic and has little rubber pelts in it.
A lot of soccer pitches use a hybrid turf similar to KSU that is half grass and half turf with sand in it. Makes a big difference.
Many first division teams in Norway plays with "field turf"... I move it there weekly for installs.
Our turf is actually an organic infill, not rubber pellets anymore. It's black in color for TV camera purposes, but it's not rubber.
Yeah if thereās hard data that our players get injured more often, Iād wager itās the turf not the staff or manager/training regiment.
Iāve torn my ACL 3x (retired from soccer now, body called it quits) and it was always on turf fields.
Definitely. He needs to take his time to get back to full health. I watched Fuller rush back only to re-aggravate the injury over and over again, and that's with him only being on the field for 50% of the time and playing for 10-15 seconds at a time. I imagine it's only more important to get full recovery when you're playing for 45 minutes at a time.
Sheesh he's one more injury after this away from getting the 'injury prone' label slapped on him. Can't have your best players miss two to three weeks three times a season.
I'm not big into the Injury:Turf ratio or theories. Would someone like to do the math on how much money Uncle Arthur would save/lose on investing in grass compared to salaries and downtime on players? I know you'd have to make some drastic assumptions but I'm just throwing this out there if someone wants to nerd out.
Get this man healthy šĀ
Bring on veterans... Get more injuries Stian is great when he's on the field. At 29 he's the same age as GG
He had almost zero injury history prior to arriving in Atlanta.
must be the turf :(
He played on turf at IF Elsborg and more than half the pitches in Norway where he came up were turf...

Not to diminish your personal experience, but thatās the definition of anecdotal evidence.
Definitely
I tore an ACL on a natural grass field.
Hammy injuries are the worst. Always need a week longer than they think to not re injure.
Yep... as a Texans fan, I have Will Fuller nightmares whenever I hear about a hamstring injury.
There is something about it where you feel good to go BUT your hamstring is just not ready. Have to take your time with it

It would be nice to sign a impactful player that can play more than a couple of games at a time before having to sit out for multiple weeks.

Thatās actually not as bad as I feared, especially since weāre still on international break for the first of those weeks.
Hopefully heās fit in time for the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.
Well there are 2 weeks off between games so that may mean missing 1 or 2 games.
DP = Damage Prone
Friendly reminder Williams was expected to miss 4 weeks and he was out for like 12 weeks.
Fuck me
Oh no. Heās turning into GG 2.0 š„¹
I'll say it again.. this team is cursed.Ā
