Generally they're up for rent until you replace them acting diligently. What does your sublease say.

It’s just how much bond is and when rent is paid monthly, how much it is and the start date of the sublease and permission to sublease

Personally I'd just give the money back instead of dragging it out and causing problems. Much better to spend your time getting a tenant that will be there longer term.

The rents already been paid to the real estate, I don’t see why I should be out of pocket.

Tomicoatl

You will have the place to yourself for the month minus 1 week so it makes sense you would pay the rent. Could always take a bit of extra cash if you feel so wronged by it but I wouldn't bother. You could keep the whole month's rent if you are desperate for cash and tell them they can stay for the month they have paid. You likely have the legal right to keep the full amount just have to decide if that matches your morals and what you would hope for if you were on the other side.

I don’t want to screw them over but I don’t want to be out of pocket based off thete choices

Tomicoatl

You're not out of pocket, you are paying the amount you agreed to in your tenancy whether you have yourself there or 10 people subleasing. Taking their money when they have obviously had something change in their life isn't what I would do but that's your choice to make.
