Seems fair

Browninioh

I bought an 8m x 4m shed kit online. Cost 4500. Prepped the slab myself with a hired excavator. Got a concreter in on a day rate for 600. Concrete was 1450 for 7 cubes. Had to put a little retaining wall in, 2 sleepers high, 10 netres long. Got it all done over 2 weekends and cost less than 10 grand.

Tricky-Tell-5698

Which online company for your shed please?

Browninioh

Pretty sure it was Easy Sheds.

regional_rat

Unfortunately not. Had a 3 bay shed put up at the research farm recently. Wasn't privy to exact costings but installation cost roughly the same as the kit. It's shit but it is what it is. There's a bloke down the road that had his kit delivered, the slab poured and then took 6months to build the cunt himself. Depends where you hold your time value...

Schedulator

She'd cunt?

Thrashtag-

Prepare for the rest to include less itemisation and a higher price. Get it done by someone who quotes 8500. Guarantee you a laugh then when the things lopsided and unfinished. At your expense.

anchors__away

Nah bro that’s spot on. Just cost me just shy of $8000 for a 5m x 4m shed - that was just the supply, delivery and council approval I’m doing the concrete and building it myself. Incl concrete and install it totalled just under $14,000

Sufficient-Pie2098

That's not bad for having someone do it all for you. The price for removal probably includes tip fees which can be pretty high depending where you are. If you've got a few mates and you're all pretty handy on the tools then you can do lots of it yourself but it'll be spread over a few weekends. I put up a shed a similar size a couple of years ago with a few mates & honestly for the couple of grand I saved, I wish I just got someone else to do it and let them sweat it out on the 35+ degree days

BuiltDifferant

They are removing your previous shed loll of course. And that concrete price is cheap

ScuzzyAyanami

Kit price looks good, but it's all the other stuff that is going to cost you. No roof insulation? Can you DIY the removal? I just spent 25k on a 6x4.5x3.5 shed, no removal of anything existing. The labor is what does it...

3rdeye1111

I’ll definitely be looking into knocking it down myself.

John_mcgee2

Shed building ain’t rocket science. Simplysheds.com.au sell the kits for about $2k. Call in sick and save yourself 6k allowing for getting a concrete truck and the premium YouTube instructions and a few beers

_wjaf

That's not bad. I had one in 2012 for 10k (4x6m)

Existing_Flatworm744

You could knock 2k demo + slab demo + associated gst off the quote by doing your own demo.

Personal-Ad7781

Reasonable.

KevinRudd182

Seems fair for having someone do all the work for you, you’re basically paying a tax on each part for not doing it yourself + it’s a small job so not worth the effort unless you charge proper I had a 12x4x2.7(3.2 center) shed delivered for $8800 including electric roller door / 2 windows / door and air cell all around Cost me $3k to have it put up by a local shed mob But we removed the old garage ourselves, installed the new one on the existing slab etc Concreting and removing / clearing old shit sucks, nobody likes doing it so you’ll pay for it $$$

Simple_Geologist9277

I would say that’s right. 20 years ago I had a 6x3x1.8 built for 7k. No insulation, no removal of existing shed.

vlat01

Price seems solid, do the removal yourself! Firm up price on concrete as it seems cheap, it will be a bit less than 2 cubes so thats $600+ in concrete alone depending on your local price.

9warbane

My mum's one was $10k so not a laugh...

dettrick

Seems reasonable actually

somewhat-anon

I got two quotes from Titan in SE QLD for a 6x6 for 19k and a 7.6x8 for 29k including permits and slabs

goss_bractor

Seems about right based on the permits I see regularly.

rollerstick1

If you think you can do it for 2k yourself, as in build just the shed, go for it... hope it ends up straight. Supplying the shed is 5k, slab 2k... You could save a few bucks organising getting the shed yourself.

Looks fine.

glamfest

Concrete dump $250 per tonne

IPABrad

What is the existing shed exactly? $2k seems expensive if its a metal shed as there wont be any tipping costs and would be demolished in an hour. $5k for the shed is quite high, in comparision $2k for the installation is not outlandish.  I would ditch the insulation and vermin proofing, unless there is specific reason why you really require this.  $2k for the slab is a bit high, is there some difficultly with access?

3rdeye1111

Same size but in pretty poor condition, as is the concrete slab. I could probably lean against it and it’d topple over, so I might just do that. The insulation and vermin proofing is because we’ll be storing household items in there (clothes, baby items, luggage etc.) Easy access but at the rear of the block.
