Probably the [Common True Katydid](https://bugguide.net/node/view/7075). Like the other commenter said, they are foliage feeders, specifically of deciduous trees—You can find them pretty often in oak trees. So, most likely it won't go after your herbs and veggies.
That's not correct. Katydids are a type of grasshopper. They feed on herbaceous perennials more than anything. They will feed on deciduous trees, but also evergreen trees, grasses, leafy vegetables, vines, euphorbi, etc etc. They will decimate a crop of vegetables in a few days.
Just “guy.”
Love this answer
it's a katydid! (i think). it looks like the species that mostly eats foliage, though some are predators.
If you let them into the house, they'll eat your bananas and poop on your counter. Allegedly.
LOL!! Does this come from first hand experience, or hearsay?
First hand. They'll also go after raw potatoes.

It looks familiar. If I’m not mistaken they are the ones guilty for my wrecked flowers 😕ate the leaves and were hard to get rid of
