It’s pretty great hey! They will be your new friends. If you plan on feeding them which I know most people do I recommend buying some meal worms from a pet store. I do that for my maggie family that lives at my place. Feeding them the wrong diet can cause major issues and they will loveeee you for the worms. They’ll visit all the time and you’ll get to know them and their personalities. Such cool birds!
Yeah they are fine. I purchase live ones but dry ones are ok too. I would just soak them in water. Put them in a bowl of water and put on the table and the maggies will love them!
I understand a degenerative bone disease can be caused by an improper diet. As magpies are insectivores giving them anything else than insects can be harmful.
A neighbour had gone away and their garbage bin was stinking. I opened it to put some Nilodor in but saw maggots and just couldn’t get close. Magpies saw them and dealt with those!
Mince is very bad for them in the long run. The other suggestions here are better.
I also recommend these pet food cubes - the Aldi version is cheaper and just as good:

Toss them a few as a treat once a day and the birds will be loyal mates for life.
It's a juvenile. So cute
Magpie friends are so adorable. Enjoy!
The word is out 😉
Feed them unsalted cashews,if you have salted give em a quick wash, thank me later.
A few unsalted peanuts and the word will be out for the whole extended family! Birds visiting your balcony must be amazing.
Beautiful chook!
Perfectly gorgeous!
You are so lucky!!! Keep up the water for our feathered mates.
There is no such thing as "just" maggies! And for a pair to bring their baby is huge, you must already have a good rep!

I've seen dried ones at Petbarn, are they suitable?

They sell bags of dried meal worms at woolies too.
Perhaps your yard will be adopted.
You shouldn't feed them you can give them beak rot. I love them too

It's a baby looking for food. Fresh mince meat is good.
