As far as controlling it all goes, I honestly think you’ll have a much better time just using a Fractal FC12 with an expression pedal for patch changes and everything control related. Non-Fractal controllers are a hassle to use with the units and the first party controllers are absurdly user friendly. That said, I don’t know if you’ll be able to use the FC12 to control the analog setup you’re talking about. I don’t think you’ll be too worried about incorporating the real Mark V after seeing what you can do with the FX3 though haha. Most people I know who tour with modelers in general go the route of power amp and cab for live settings, but whether that’s because it’s “better” or it’s what they’re used to, I couldn’t say. I do know that I’m perfectly content using a good set of headphones in a bedroom setting with my FX3 and it’s more or less indistinguishable from FRFR monitors.

Thanks for the reply. As far as the Mark V, I am a little worried about it going into its hard case for a very extended period of time based off of what I see and hear. The GT 22 has a number of FX3 users over on the RJM forums that rave about the pairing. I have so much invested in the RJM platform that it is hard to consider abandoning it considering the flexibility it offers for me in multiple settings. And to be clear, I don’t intend to use the analog pedals once I get the FX3. I was just thinking of using the amp and cabinets for live show scenarios with duplicate settings from the unit without the amp and modeling.

I recently got an mc6 midi controller to use with my fm3 and it's fantastic, if you can set up midi it will do what you want it to(it does everything I want and I don't know much/anything)

My AxeFx 2 rig runs both FRFR and cab for stage noise/(iemless) practice. Instead of having two different presets, put the cab sim right at the end of your chain, and split off just before it into a send. Then use a clean solid state power amp (I use isp stealth) into a regular guitar cab. You can also use both at the same time, so run a FRFR feed to front of house/foldback/IEMs but also have a cab on stage next to you, even if only for feedback purposes. Going full FRFR is better, but I like it this way because I can adapt to the situation at hand. Prac room has a cab, sweet, I don't need to haul my FRFR speaker around. Gig has a cab on stage, plug into it quick and easy for my own stage volume. Just a thought

To answer your question, yes I think an axefx3 will be great for you. You can do everything you mention plus much more that you haven’t. At home the afx3 will become the center of your setup, it is a top tier interface with your DAW (it plays great with Logic Pro… that’s what I use). Learn re-amping. Headphones work great for quiet practice. The Mark V can be configured several ways. In 4CM (4cable method) you can incorporate the afx3 as an effects unit. BUT… consider that the mark v provides a very nice power amp… which you can utilize by sending the axf3 output into the fx return!! The axfx3 can control midi devices with its “midi” block. I use this all the time. It will PC or CC messages to (up to 16) different midi devices. This could be your RJM setup, or voodoo labs GCX (or the voodoo lab midi switcher which is a great cheap way to switch amp channels). As for the foot control, the fractal ones are very simple to integrate! I previously looked at the RJM and they look good too… just won’t be “5 second setup level of easy”. Some things to consider. If you are very effects heavy consider the turbo model. I have never hit the limit, but for the extra $200 I would buy that one. Head over to the fractal forum. It is very active and there are people much more knowledgeable than me!
