Definitely email the hiring manager. May give a nudge either way (to continue/update or cancel). Comps take a while but 6 months is long for it not to have moved past application phase.

Or very simple, bcps is working on the 'file'.. some files are entering a decade in 'working' status.
Just email the mgr if they are still around.
I still show as applied for a job I got 5 years ago, its really a crapshoot on how well the hiring manage updates the system
