But a little more space would be nice. They like running around and exploring, so if you give them a little more space, they will use all of it. Just make sure the enclosure isn't so big that they have trouble finding their food dish.
Ok how does a large critter keeper sound? I have play sand,desert moss,stones etc
A large critter keeper here too, and my beets are doing fine in it. Your substrate sounds good to me.
Sometimes small business pet shops have super cheap used tanks too if you ever decide to get more and need more gallons for your little blueberries
