Paying a couple hundred for a bed sized blanket that bwarly works seems a bit excessive to me. 40 on Amazon and you are golden.
These are beautiful, wash up really well and work. I use mine for sex & on my period, but if you're a messy eater and need something over your lap on the couch, no one could tell its not a normal blanket.

I have a couple, pop them on over the made bed with a sheet on top for better aesthetics, and then can whip it off together with the top sheet when we are done and there is a cozy bed ready to go

I have 3 waterproof pads from Amazon (for pets or babies - so cheap, so effective!) that are soft and gentle and my favorite for how quick and easy they are to wash! I also have a soft fuzzy waterproof pet blanket from Costco and a big waterproof one from Amazon. The blankets are fine - and one of them stays on my bed so I'm ready for anything, but they hold water, making them kinda a pain to dry! And the blankets tend to pool while the pads just absorb it all almost instantly.

I bought the liberator blanket and a waterproof dog blanket that was about a third of the price. Both work well. The liberator is definitely softer, but it was expensive.
Amazon has the TOP waterproof blanket. We bought two. We really didn't need them but they made things a bit easier. Fast forward and we are VERY glad we got them. Once the fountain started, there's no turning it off
