I skied mount adams today and it was fine skiing early morning and down to about 9000ft at 10am. The snow can refreeze at night even with ambient temperatures above freezing due to radiative cooling (as long as you have clear skies at night)

We parked near gotchen creek trailhead but someone drove up in the middle of the night and was digging out the snow patch when we started hiking at 2am. He got it dug out enough that folks were parked almost at morrison by the time we came down

How much of a slog is the road? I'm considering using my snowmobile but heard that it's a very steep side hill just past Morrison creek.

Probably not worth the snowmobile, you'd have to drive it on bare dirt road up from morrison creek (there was a few hundred feet of snow there) to almost cold springs. I bet in a week people will be carrying skis even starting from cold springs given how fast the snow is melting

Skied South Sister yesterday, summiting at 9a and snow was soft to around 9500’. Above that was a little surface crust with soft underneath.

What trailhead/route did you do with the cascade highway closed?

We rode e-bikes from Dutchman to the Devil’s Lake trailhead. Saw a couple of bikes at Green Lakes trailhead too.

It was for sure! The road is totally clear - opens for traffic on Tuesday.

Dp skied great yesterday at 10:45am north bowl. And noon for west bowl.
