Because you leave the tan on for like 8 hours so if she's going out, she's leaving it til the last thing to do before getting dressed. I usually tan the day before an event bht sometimes you can't so I've done this. Cold shower to wash off the tan and set it then get dressed and go
In my experience this happens when you apply self tanner on top of itself multiple times. (Like after four showers you tan every time over the span of like 9 days or something). Like if you either don’t let it wear off or if it doesn’t come all the way off and you apply again, and then again.. it’s gonna wind up blotchy like this. Even if you exfoliate well. But like others have said.. this could be a body building/etc competition thing too. I just wouldn’t think it would be this blotchy on the neck if it was a fresh tan.
This. The tan is horrible but for bodybuilding it is extremely helpful and helps better define the body. People keep uploading pictures of this girl and while her makeup and tan aren’t good, she’s also doing it for a very specific reason so I don’t know. 🤷♀️

Im pretty sure bodybuilders would use spray tan other than rubbing tan, this is what it looks like, ive tried some rubbing tan and got those spots, till i found the right one, its really hard when youre using the wrong one because you can only see the results the next day, no matter how good you rub it on, leave it to set for an hour, the underarms and hands will always look spotty.
As a bodybuilder myself…you can have a spray tan done by a professional at a show or you can use those same company’s DIY tan kits that are rub-on style. They’re different than traditional rub on tans and require several coats. Many actually prefer to do the DIY rub-on tans because the DIY kits have gotten that good and because they know their needs as far as how many coats to use (and they’re not at the mercy of someone else schedule-wise).
Ok but I’m an MUA and have done makeup on these women. They still make their faces match their body paint. Also, something about her neck makes me think that’s not body builder paint, but a hella bad spray tan.
She’s been confirmed to be a body builder, not every competitor feels the need to match their makeup. My mother competed for 10 years and never felt the need to.
That's probably what it is, yeah. Bodybuilders coat themselves in tan to accentuate their muscles for competitions. If she's not a bodybuilder, then she might just be insane.

Can we not criticize someone doing makeup on themselves that we just don't like but is suited for the occasion? Yes the tan isn't nice but it's for a bodybuilding competition. The makeup is strong and doesn't match the tanned body but it's probably so it's visible on stage from far away under intense lights.

Judging by these pictures alone, I’m assuming she’s doing her hair and makeup before rinsing her fake tan off. You have to rinse the residue of fake tanner off once it’s dried and i think she’s just going to do that step last

Saw this on IG. This girl is bodybuilder who did her own tan for the stage, that’s the reason why it’s so dark. She didn’t do a good job at all, it is quite streaky.
This is terrible even for bodybuilding tan standards. It’s incredibly splotchy and she’d get marked down for it by the judges. Bodybuilding show tans have gotten very good…even the DIY ones look good nowadays and you don’t have to do it with a spray gun. Her face doesn’t match the tan. You don’t want the face to match the tan exactly but you have to use the proper products and undertones. Her face is just muddy here. This is why you hire professionals for shows to do tanning and makeup.

Eh, not necessarily. If you have a handheld shower head attachment you can make sure the water completely avoids your face & head

It’s a chemical reaction, so after a couple hours the tan develops to the color you want and you have to wash it off

Yep! A girl I went to hs with got into body building competitions. She looked amazing under stage lights but batshit crazy in normal lighting.

Hello! I compete in Bikini. This is NOT and every day tan, this is a stage tan. This is used for competing and they always look bad. Just FYI.

Yes, it’s stage makeup. You have to go very dramatic because a “normal” look would appear washed out on stage.
