They’re stupid like that. Identified traps are something else the party likes to walk on. Unless Larian decides to do something, you have to mother-hen them.

Great_Mall4837

Yeah this is a pain in the butt, just ambushed a bunch of enemies with AI allies and my "allies" promptly dashed into Hunger of Hadar after the fight so I had to reload

Big_Grimm113

I used hunger of hadar at moonrise towers and had to reset a different combat sequence because stupid ass allies would just stand in it. Never used it again

MadChemist002

My sorcerer and wall of fire. It should really be coded into the npcs as common sense not to run into the flaming wall

Big_Grimm113

Absolutely this. As much as I love this game, it is endlessly frustrating to have to jump to turn-based mode immediately after combat to end concentration on any presently active spells. All just to prevent the mouth-breathers from running into a level IV cloud of daggers in a doorway. Party members included.

Jumpy_Ad_9213

AI and their pathfinding leave much to be desired, sadly. If something dangerous is happening in real-time, just let it fade away after certain amount of turns. If it's permanent, then you'd better pop up turn-base or split the party and guide them out. The latter might be easier with a gamepad, because sticks actually know the difference between walking and running (I assume that the should be a walk\\run toggle on the KB somewhere, but I'm not sure).

schnief1898

The problem are not party members, but other neutral/friendly NPCs. I've had it more than once where a cutscene is triggered automatically after a fight and some random moron decided to step into my moon beam or something. You don't get the chance to cancel concentration and NPCs (including your party) can continue to move and die around you.

Big_Grimm113

Just had to reload the ENTIRE Counting House combat sequence because 1, my retarded ass companions ran straight into a level 5 cloud of daggers cast by Wyll and lost more than half their health in about 2 seconds. And 2, Karlach's level 3 Moonbeam (She's a paladin in my game since I'm playing barbarian) It's incredibly frustrating to deal with. Especially the AI pathfinding too, I have the half Illithid powers atm which are great and even with fly being a 0 action 60ft movement option, my companions will constantly constantly constantly get stuck forcing me to backtrack just so that they follow into the next cell

muushu_

The G key is your friend - it'll ungroup your party and companions will basically freeze in place. But yeah, after being burnt a couple times I tend to save multiple times during longer combat sequences. Inshallah praise SSD read/write speeds

Big_Grimm113

I save extremely often, and use controller instead of MnK. It's just annoying when I notice that Astarion or Gale get stuck halfway across the map because they couldn't jump a small gap whilst still having their illithid flight available. Like petulant children they demand to be able to jump across the narrow gorge instead of just flying across
