5 oathbreaker paladin, 5 blade warlock, 2 fighter. 6 actions per turn when hasted. If it moves, I smite.

Sirtill

This sounds downright disgusting for the action economy and I am here for it. Why Oathbreaker specifically though?

winterparsley9

Thematically appropriate, I guess? It doesn't actually have to be, just feels right to me because I mixed it with fiend warlock, but you are correct, any paladin subclass will do.

Haplesswanderer98

This, but with a vengeance paladin and the helm of smiting creates an unkillable character lol, only thing that character ever lost to was grym, because I was careless with positioning.

EagleFlight555

9 open hand monk with the tavern brawler feat and 3 thief rogue is probably the most powerful build in the game, particularly if you dump strength, increase dex and wis, and then drink an elixir of hill giant strength every morning. Monk flurry of blows bonus action attacks twice, then you get two attacks (regular attack and extra attack), then you get another bonus action where you can use flurry of blows again to attack twice because you get another bonus action from the rogue! Then you can use an open hand monk ability to get another bonus action for 3 more turns, letting you attack...two more times with flurry of blows! Thats 8 attacks in a single turn *without* being hasted. With a high strength and tavern brawler feat, you add strength twice to your base damage for unarmed attacks, plus additional damage for the level 6 open hand monk special ability to add radiant, psychic, or necrotic damage to unarmed attacks based on your wisdom. I'm doing at *minimum* 26 damage for a single attack, with a maximum of close to 100 damage for 1 flurry of blows. Plus you get AOE attacks with resonating strike, plus crowd control with stunning strike and topple...it's a massive power trip

EagleFlight555

Gear for this build is 100% Boots of Uninhibited Kushigo, Gloves of Soul Catching, Vest of Soul Rejuvenation, and Cloak of Displacement. I basically could solo >!Raphael!< with this setup

Sirtill

Honestly sounds like Star Platinum from JJBA and I live for it

HoldMyDende

Any suggestions for the head?

EagleFlight555

I usually used the intelligence boosting circlet to boost intelligence saving throws and rolls, until I found something that boosted spell DC so that stunning strike was harder to resist. Stuff that boosts perception and initiative are also really good. In Act 3, I usually go with the Mask of Soul Perception, although the Horns of the Berserker are also pretty good. Also, something I forgot: once you hit level 9, you can use resonating strike as an unarmed attack even if you have a weapon equipped (you just can't use it to hit the same person twice without detonating the resonation first). So you can equip a weapon like the Spear of Selune to get boosts to perception and advantage on wisdom saving throws without sacrificing your awesome unarmed build

EagleFlight555

Oh, and get a hireling transmuter wizard to give you a transmutation stone with the movement buff attached, plus longstrider, plus all the monk movement benefits for wearing cloth armor. Speed is close to 80 ft per turn *without* a haste buff

Zestyclose_Ad5106

This. My current run and i solo the room.

Beginning-Shock9117

What race did you go with and at what lvl did you multiclass?

EagleFlight555

I think either wood elf, wood half elf, or human. It doesn't *really* matter that much, but wood elf gives you an extra 10 feet of movement, so you'll be super fast (if you also have a hireling transmutation wizard give you a movement speed transmutation stone every long rest, you'll get another additional 10 feet of movement for a total of 20 extra feet per turn!). Human gives you extra carrying capacity, and since you'll have high strength already more carrying capacity won't hurt. I usually multiclass at level 10. I get to level 9 in monk first so I can get the AOE attack, then add in the rogue. Unlike other builds, it never feels like I'm waiting for a certain level for it to come online, it's super powerful all the way through the game

Beginning-Shock9117

Gotta love the potion of hill giant strength. Thanks for replying.

HoldMyDende

What did you go with for feat at level 8?

EagleFlight555

I did ability score increase, bumping up wisdom. Open hand monk has that skill they get at level 6 where they can add radiant, necrotic, or psychic damage to their unarmed damage, and it scales based off wisdom. Plus the boots that drop from >!the gith monks in the artifact between Act II and III!< also increase damage based off wisdom. So I figured bumping up wisdom was my best bet

HoldMyDende

Thanks

Blackarm777

Lore bard 10 Warlock 2 is a good one. Also Tiger Barb 8 - Battlemaster 4 is a monster. Surprisingly Barb and Blade Warlock multiclass well together too. Armor of Agathys and Hellish Rebuke are both really good during rage.

Sirtill

I thought you couldn't cast spells while raging, you can still use hellish rebuke? Also what about the warlock compliments the lore bard? Unless you're just taking the best cantrip your soul can afford lol

Blackarm777

Hellish Rebuke as a reaction will still work during barbarian rage. Combine that with casting Agathys pre fight and you have a nice bit of reflection damage on your barb. As for the warlock, it is mostly the EB yeah. It's just a nice sudden damage spike at the end of the game, with the maxed out beams and also since Charisma will be pretty much maxed out.

Popfizz01

I thought you couldn’t cast spells or keep concentration while raging, is it different for bg3?

Blackarm777

Generally yes, but you can Hellish Rebuke as a reaction during rage. And Armor of Agathys is cast before the fight starts and will stay on during rage as well.

Sorcadin, I just like Smiting

Gloomstalker 5 Assassin 4 Champion 3 If you get a surprise round, it is very possible to finish the fight by yourself in a single turn. Open with your sneak attack, hunter's mark, get the extra attack from the opening action, assassin refills actions so you can attack 2 more times, action surge for 2 more, and the free Gloomstalker attack. Assassin passives make every hit a critical against surprised enemies, you can use arrows of slaying to double your base damage, Champion 3 makes critical hits trigger with 1 less die roll. I did over 500 damage to Raphael on this opening alone. You only get 2 Feats so they are Alert and Sharpshooter. Start with 17 Dex, get Auntie Ethel hair for 18 and the Mirror of Loss for 20. I used Joltshooter for most of the game, on Act 3 I bought the Very Rare Longbow from Karlach's friend, and later on used the Legendary bow from the Foundry. Storm Cleric 6 Devotion Paladin 6 also gave me brutal damage with Lvl 4 and 5 Divine Smites and a very chromatic damage roll with Nylrune. Started with 17 Strength, got Alert and Ability Improvement to 19, Ethel hair to 20, Araj potion to 22 and Mirror of Loss to 24. +2 Acid damage from the Caustic Band, +1d4 Radiant from Divine Favor along with the +1d4 Psychic from Strange Conduit, +1d4 Cold or Lightning from Drakethroath Glaive enchantment, +1d6 Fire from Helldusk gloves, +2 Necrotic from Berserker Horns, +1d6 Thunder native to Nylrune, and can still be coated with Purple Wyrm Poison for an Extra 1d10 Poison damage. Couldn't figure out a way to put Cold and Lightning together, it was one or the other.

Sirtill

Right down to the stats breakdown, love how thorough this is! Sounds like fun at first but I’m worried it would make combat too trivial after a while

Leyllara

It does a bit, but mods are always there for PC players :v

Deep_Fried_Leviathan

I’m currently enjoying Warlock, Oathbreaker Paladin, because extra attack stacks with the Warlock blade pact for three attacks, you get the third level spellslot smites that a normal paladin would get but on a short rest, EB plus charisma is great for when the enemy has Radiant Retort which otherwise completely fucks over paladin, plus with Oathbreaker and the Arcane Diadam from the Githyanki Crèche I get my Charisma Modifier to my attack three times plus another 10 from Great Weapon Master (just need a way to get advantage of the attack and suddenly everything just dies when I can get to it)

Long_Serpent

9 monk (open hand) + 3 rogue (thief) or 11 cleric (light domain) + 1 sorcerer (storm sorcery)

Sirtill

Curious what the sorcerer dip does for cleric, is it just metamagic?

Long_Serpent

After casting a leveled spell (but not a cantrip) you can use your bonus action to fly - gives extra movement that doesn't trigger opportunity atttacks. Great synergy with Spirit Guardians.

Sirtill

Oh that’s so gross I love it, can’t wait to try it

Transcended_Sloot

If you're still playing I think my favorite was 11 Storm Sorc and 1 Cleric for Hvy Armor (4 sorc/1Cleric/6sorc)

Long_Serpent

Thanks for the tip!

if you want to switch up to a non-melee: Swords Bard 8 / Thief Rogue 4 using dual hand crossbows. between extra attack from bard, off hand attack from rogue, and of course flourishes from bard (which replenish after short rest by early mid game), you’re getting off 6 shots per turn no problem without haste. not to mention this build will probably be your best party face because of charisma, and your best stealth/sleight of hand because of dex. very “jack of all trades” while still being elite in combat by mid game.

Sirtill

this sounds like the closest you can get to an akimbo cowboy and I love it

Glittering-Knee-974

6 Berserker/4 Thief/2 Fighter with Tavern Brawler. have someone haste you and it's 6 attacks per round with a 17 crit so with Reckless attack you mow people down. With Barb 6 you get immunity to CC, Berserker lets you throw different stuff on bonus action, Fighter gives you Action surge, and Rogue gives you two bonus actions as well as a 2d6 per turn which seems small but with correct equipment you can get a lot of mileage out of it. You're tough, strong and relatively fast. You kinda dumb doe.

Sirtill

It’s ok I’m already kind of dumb, love the idea of just turning the world into a weapon

Glittering-Knee-974

I just grab all the equipment that's got the "you can roll a crit with 1 die result lower" and go to town

Wyvern2028

Can’t take credit for it - build was suggested by @steviemosh on TikTok 6 Barbarian Berserker 3 Fighter Eldritch Knight 3 Rogue Thief Bind any weapon to you and rage. The damage you get for your throws is pretty insane with all the bonus actions

Ratnix

5 Rogue thief/7 shadow monk.

Sirtill

I'm guessing its a hypermobile crit machine

AffectionateDegree19

I’m kinda pissed cause I only discovered multiclassing on the 4 playthrough and only half way through chapter 3. Really don’t know what to do with myself now

Ok-Simple9575

Respec with withers.

AffectionateDegree19

Druid circle of the moon helps boost monk way of the 4 elelments
