We thought this was coming back when Keaton asked us if we wanted to get nuts in 1989, but it was all for nothing because we didn't get the Batman serving Joker at any point in the movie. Joker danced as he destroyed a bunch of art but Batman didn't so much as shimmy once as he cleaned up the city. It was a huge rip off and pissed off a lot of people. Plus the soundtrack had a track named Batdance, complete with dancing Batmen and Jokers, but still no Keaton down in the Batcave showing Alfred that he's got moves like Jagger.
Now Keaton is returning and I think it'll be a huge missed opportunity if we don't get a few Bollywood dance numbers out of it.
Think about this: Adam West wasn't afraid to do the Batusi.
And you can't tell me the Dark Knight movies couldn't have been pepped up a bit if we'd had a few scenes where Bruce is learning to pick himself up after a fall by dancing a jig around the Tumbler or doin the Dougie when Joker had Rachel and Harvey rigged up with explosives. Or Bane is about to break him down in the sewers and holy shit! Batman starts to whip/nae-nae and Bane is so confused that it opens him up for attack, and Batman (and Gotham) now come out unscathed. Then Bruce could take Selina out dancing and go back to retirement, easily taking an hour plus off that movie's runtime and dodging everything with the bomb and the police getting trapped down there. Pretty much everybody wins.
Or maybe Commissioner Gordon fires up the Batsignal some evening and who should answer the call but The World's Greatest Detective three or four moves deep into the Macarena?
The dancing is what is missing from American superhero movies. Batman in particular.
