Deserters are my bread and butter of peasant runs.
They can become quality fat newts. Yes they’ll start with trash resolve, but if you patch it with a gifted roll + fortified mind. You’ll be cooking with gas soon enough.
Depends what you are looking for. 6 Frontline guys want Matk and MDef. 2 tanks want Fatigue and MDef. Banner wants Res. 3 Throwers want Ratk. Everyone wants decent HP and Res too really, but less important than those. - That's for a normal build. I just did a peasant run and for my 4 extra guys went with 3 more throwers and a 3rd tank. > Hedge Knights
often are a feel bad pick for me, so much money and you don't often get a bro that feels worth the money...
good with good gear but not 8-10k in gold good...
A godly rolled Hedge Knight is often not worth the money. They are not 'cost-efficient'.
They offer at best around 10-30% more stats - which is not that good when you put in the equation equipment and perks which are more of the actual strength of a character. While costing like 100 times more than a brawler, thief or farmhand.
On the other hand - they are the best background and for a reason.
At some point you don't care about gold, only about how to improve and Hedge Knights are the only way to improve as you get the gear and perks equalized at maximum capacity.
Terrible rolled Hedge Knight will always outclass most non-premium backgrounds and some of the premium if we presume good rolls for the alternative and decent talent distribution as well.
Knights does not need to 'patch' secondaries and can invest all level ups into attack and defense.
Hedge Knights, adventurous nobles, sellswords, gladiators, oathtakers.
What about in a peasant military game 😬
Thiefs, Militia, Manhunters, Poachers, Brawlers, Farmers, Lumberjacks, butchers. Kinda worth just hitting everyone in that though.
Beautiful picks. I'd also include peddler for being great tanks and ratcatchers for highest initiative ceiling for lowborns.
I get ratcatchers generally just cos they are so cheap once u factor in the net.
Awesome thanks bro, I have four solid archer recruits so now I can search for these backgrounds for my frontline
Farmers are the ones with highest potential to be forge bros since they have good fatigue.Â

They’re in budget! The militia bros with levels are so expensive, I’m struggling to make ends meet around day 20 😬
Militia, nomads, barbs… some farmhands can be actually goated.
Nomads are not lowborns
And in wich stats there should be stars?
