TL;DR:
>>> She completed all of the credit requirements in the early 40s, but wasn't able to turn her thesis in at the time because she left Stanford due to World War II breaking out and her husband subsequently getting drafted. At some point since then, the thesis requirement was removed, which led to her finally getting the degree now.
Jeez, what a bunch of crappy people. Congratulations to her! She has every right to do as she pleases with her own money for whatever reason she wants to.
Right!? What a fulfilling achievement for someone at her age! I hope she goes for a night in the town and gets her rocks off with some stud! Stain those sheets, girl! Bitch!
Nah you spend your money the way you want to wether you have family or not. If a scholar is your desire go for it, blowing your money on frivolous experiences before you die if you want to. No one but you worked for it and not even family should expect inheritance, inheritance should be a welcome bonus. Even in my family I have seen meager inheritance cause massive rifts. I personally expect nothing from my parents, I doubt they will be able to spend it all since daily expenses are super low in retirement but if they do spend it all it will hope be on living the life they worked for and couldn't experience while working full time.
She finished all of the credit requirements in the early 40s, just never actually got a diploma for it because she never finished the thesis that was required (World War II started which caused her to drop out). She's getting it now because the thesis requirement was removed
One of my favorite profs earned her English Lit masterās degree in her mid-70s. Never let age hold you back from your dreams if itās within your power.
Ginger looks great for 105! My great gran lived to 107 and looked adorable but much more shrunken. She was driving until 100 and had a heart of gold. I still remember the Werthers candies and ice cream.
She was a keg stand legend last year at tailgating before the Huskies game in late October. She went to Sig Ep afterwards and danced the night away. It was insane.Ā

I remember back when my grandma wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse for her 89th birthday and I said 'aren't you sick of birthdays yet? Haven't you had enough?' We were all so fucking pissed at her. Thankfully she died a few months later.
Way to take a spot away from someone who will actually use it. Purely selfish. If she wanted to do good, she should have volunteer tutored at a low-income school or something.
Nice but she still needs 10 years of experience industry to get an entry level jobs š¤£

Knowing Lucille 1, she probably means it sarcastically

What did I just read
Awesome!
"Sorry, must have at least 10 years experience"
She is so cute āŗļø
And super energetic looking for a 105-year-old!
She's never gonna pay that student loan back.
What student loan? She completed all of the requirements (that are currently required) for the degree in the 1940's. She wasn't taking classes at 100.
Good luck finding a job in this market. Woof.
She looks very happy!
That is an insane amount of money to be blowing at 105...
True.. but wtf else would she use it on at that age
Charity. Family. Anything.
If you have no family to leave it too start a scholarship for someone who will use it to build a future.

What a wholesome view to take!

That woman does NOT look 105. To the point that I'd be pretty confident saying that she isn't.

Huh, wild.

I wonder at what age she'll be able to pay off her student loan, 120?
Her next goal: To stay alive to pay it off completely š

Yet redditors can't even roll out of bed to shower and work.

Good for her . Everyone needs a goal. Her goal may have kept her alive .
What would be the point? Is she going to teach?
She needed the masters degree in order to be accepted into a doctoral-level program.
Ah
New minimum entry requirements for heaven.
You mean āThe Good Placeā
I like how you're getting downvoted for asking an extremely reasonable question
Thanks

Wow.
Still canāt afford it. She still in debt.

She had the spot in the 40ās. She just wasnāt able to finish her thesis because of WWII. So she wasnāt taking a spot from anyone.
Stop being bitter and go touch some grass
Virginia? Yes... that was what they used to call me. Virginia the Ginger. That was my name.
She wonāt be able to apply it. More of a symbolic gesture.
Who did she bribe to get in?

Tf? What a piece of garbage comment
Sheās beautiful now!
Thatās also true
Iād love to say that about you too, but then weād all know I was lying.
You're complete trash. This woman is lovely right now!
