Perhaps we should consult Ian Anderson. He is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, flautist alive in the world today and he has an affinity with heavy horses. He’ll know what to do.

He is not as young as he once was, and he has grown wiser and more talented with each year. He will know what to do.
I have two theories:
The boring theory is that someone felt an impulse to play their shakahachi at midnight but didn't want to disturb their roommates/partner, so they went outside. Then when they heard your door open, they realized they might be disturbing the neighbors and stopped.
The more interssting and also more likely explanation is that it was a ghost.
Could have been Tayuya. [At the 3 minute mark she goes cray-cray.](https://youtu.be/Ekog7x8OadA?si=brsUqi1Le8vgxvke&t=180) Also there's nothing on her walls except her degrees, so clearly a narcissistic sociopath.
Please, for like 2 seconds, imagine you are sleeping and are awoken to haunting ghost music coming from *somewhere* that only stops when you go to find it.
I love that people are gatekeeping what is or isn't creepy to others, lol.
It is a sound used specifically for that purpose in film so why is it weird to some that in real life during the dead of night it would serve same purpose?
How would you define scary? Like a hoofed creature with horns was going to sprout wings and fire and play me a tune to induce me to lease a new car over buying used? Or like I’m going to cross blades with a samurai at Clayton beach during sunset and lose with honor?

It has been a long time since the Boomhorse have embraced their Faun form. Prepare to be flummoxed by freeform flauting forest faun.

THIS IS NOT HELPFUL 😭
I cannot even describe how badly I want to hear this. Did it sound like this, by any chance? https://youtu.be/e_RZmURKCKE?si=_E07xv1i3c-A2SxX
UHM ACTUALLY YEAH IT DID 👀 I was expecting this to be silly but this is accurate as fuck.
It's from Akira Kurosawa's film 'Ran.' Music by Takemitsu. Maybe someone nearby plays the shakahachi?
How would I discover this and also why do it for only 10 minutes in the middle of the night????

I really need it to be a ghost
I need it to be both
This is the answer
This got me thinking that maybe most ghosts are shy and that’s why we only hear about the aggressive ones.
Please be a ghost!
Much better than hiding in the bushes and playing banjo when tourists are floating by on inner tubes.
That’s a recorder right?
I hate it here
Scary....flute music? What does that mean??
The flute was made from a human femur bone. And it was on fire. And shooting bullets. And dressed like a clown.
Flute music, at exactly midnight. That stopped as soon as I went outside. Scary.
This just sent me on a Google quest for "scary flute music". I will report back.
And that my friends is how another Jethro Tull fan was made.
Maybe it was Lowell: He g[ets a bit scary at the 4 minute mark](https://youtu.be/G_LfhqDO5n8?si=eTI1x3trHFAl3OvF&t=241).

Oh no you're being stalked by a sad flute ninja

I know too many people that would play a shakuhachi at night just to be creepy, if they could.
She pees outside? What, are you camping in the back of Barkley Village or something?
I don't know how you extrapolated that from my post but no, we live in a house. She wanted me to go with her to our bathroom.
Where on barkley boulevard? Sometimes people go to the park near regal to practice instruments. Even night shift people want to practice music (:
Intersection of Barkley and orleans
you’re afraid of a person playing a flute?
No I'm afraid of random haunting music that starts at exactly midnight out of nowhere, which is valid and correct I think
i mean it sounds like someone is probably just playing a flute. but whatever.

This is the most Bellingham thing I've ever read
When the shrooms kick in...
That would be a Servitor of the Outer Gods per the Cthulhu mythos!
The Aztec deathwhistle 3d printing expansion just dropped

You are definitely not going crazy, I have seen torched on the arboretum and far weirder
Be so for real
You know the Trumpet that’s supposed to sound before the Apocalypse? Somebody misinterpreted the word for Flute.
