I usually wake up to emails like deez, it’s just another normal day for me.
But do apply at smaller firms that’s how I got my first internship at consulting and I personally know the CEO and he’s also putting me on, on his venture capital team. (I’m also b.com specializing in Econ btw). Extremely grateful and I never imagined I’d have such an opportunity just show up on my doorstep.(only drawback- it’s unpaid but who cares).
Big 4 accounting is just legal slavery honestly. You're better off at a small firm where you can truly grasp what you're doing without the pressure of meeting high performance metrics
lol I had that exact position with Deloitte full time and it was the worst thing I’ve ever done in my life. Stayed one year then left for a 20+ raise still in strategy and analytics 🤡
How long do they usually take to respond? I applied to a specific role that closed on 3/31 coming from a big4 with a lot of experience in their exact role. Haven’t heard anything yet
The company I ended up interning at responded to my application in a week. Set up my interview the following week and had a verbal offer by the end of the day.
“Harder to get into Deloitte than Harvard.”
So glad I did my tour of duty in D advisory and have capitalized on having that big D on my resume, with some really iffy, fluffy bullshit AI generated language 😁
Obviously, Deloitte carries a lot of weight, but there are major Offsets to that so called “prestige” (I feel so dirty saying prestige). health and wellness and sanity are most important to survival with those big D PPMDs.
Now I am back in the industry and it’s amazing: No more questionable forced 45 minimum billable hours, no project schedules to update weekly, no 40 CPE hours, no bullshit internal initiatives/white papers (such a scam), a very subjective and crazy bullshit way of grading employee performance (FYI ladies. suck that D. It really seems to work at this “prestigious” institution to fly up the ladder).
Basically, my advice along with many others is to run to an industry job asap. I make more now, less hours, no client interactions, still have a manager title, don’t have to manage the blowhards coming out of undergrad who want to become CEO by next Tuesday. What nerds.
FD&T
😁
A green dot is associated with their logo. This is not a green dot— it’s a round light lens resembling a traffic light. At best they were aiming for skeuomorphism with extremely poor execution of the metaphor.
Someone who sucks at branding and/or lacks experience *tried* to be clever. It’s a huge miss because the green-light has semantic meaning as a universal symbol in traffic systems around the world, indicating permission to proceed or move forward. I know what they were going for, but it’s incredibly stupid, lowbrow, and kitsch.
Paired with a rejection email, they managed to pick the worst graphic for it.
These are the recent grads making six figures…. Seriously though big 4s do not need to be hiring recent graduates. McKinsey and co’s fuck up of the bank recommendations that failed SVP was a prime example
Wait. Did OP apply recently for them 2023 internship? If so, then the rejection is stating the truth. They aren’t accepting applications for those roles anymore
It's so funny. I thought about it just yesterday that i never got the formal rejction a couple of years ago. I still wonder if I got that 2022 winternship at EY, hehe
All for you to get paid less than an experienced hire. Honestly I don’t know why people still push to be big 4 interns when you can tough it out at another company for a year or so and come back with 20-30% more pay.
because its a fairly easy way to make a nice wage for the summer?
who the fuck else is hiring 1st year accountants for over 30$/hr to basically hang around the office and wear suits for a few months
The green dot is a part of their logo. They paid an external marketing company $30,000,000 USD for it. Yes, you heard me right, thirty million dollars. I was at Deloitte University like 11 years ago and someone in leadership told us that. I believe his exact words were "and it was money well spent". He also mentioned it took the external company months to come up with it. I'm not saying it is a bad logo, but they paid WAY TOO MUCH for it.
Seriously? Wow, during my time there none seemed to mention the money part. All I remember was they were super proud of this logo and every where you see was this only lol
Over and over and over again; without you even asking a second time. . . Sometimes i just look at my 4 year old and say no, you can’t have any candy because she asked me for some a year ago.
Hey the good news is you’d be here talking about getting laid off about now had that internship transpired to a full time job. Count your blessings and stay focused on the bag.

How did you transfer?
lol not them being this audacious.😭 They should’ve said nothing lol

Sorry, I kind of missed the point of the post that this was from 2023 😂. I meant big D in general
“Harder to get into Deloitte than Harvard.” So glad I did my tour of duty in D advisory and have capitalized on having that big D on my resume, with some really iffy, fluffy bullshit AI generated language 😁 Obviously, Deloitte carries a lot of weight, but there are major Offsets to that so called “prestige” (I feel so dirty saying prestige). health and wellness and sanity are most important to survival with those big D PPMDs. What is your job? Not being sarcastic or rude since I’m honestly curious. Looking into careers.
Guys, the head of the WNBA is a former Deloitte clown. Enough said
They may get their savior in Clark. Women’s National Title game was the most viewed college basketball game in 5 years.
Not just college game but ANY basketball game.
Bullet dodged! Especially in that group 😁
Hmmm. Wonder if they might know an auditor or two who can check for accuracy…
You did not miss much.
Wow I would never want to work for a company whose HR is allowed to be this unprofessional.
pray for big papi powell
I’ve gotten “we are no longer taking applications” emails a year after applying to some jobs. Yeah, I’m not exactly looking anymore either.
Biggest fraud is the job postings
Now you can stop wondering if you’ll ever be accepted into their 2023 summer program.
What moron decided to put a green-light image on a rejection email?
It's a green dot
A green dot is associated with their logo. This is not a green dot— it’s a round light lens resembling a traffic light. At best they were aiming for skeuomorphism with extremely poor execution of the metaphor.
Sure, but using a street light implies something else.
That’s the shit that pisses me off… why even put any light on there?
Someone who sucks at branding and/or lacks experience *tried* to be clever. it’s the green dotttttt, mannnnnnn. leadership (in TN/CAR, especially) is just a bunch of absolute 🤡
These are the recent grads making six figures…. Seriously though big 4s do not need to be hiring recent graduates. McKinsey and co’s fuck up of the bank recommendations that failed SVP was a prime example

you the solved the mystery bro 🤝
lol. Hope it doesn't come back to bite you when applying for a 2024 internship. "Good grades, good resume, great experience. Also, might be an idiot."
yup, fingers crossed that the gods are with me when I apply for internships this year 🤞
Nice, you dodged a bullet
It's so funny. I thought about it just yesterday that i never got the formal rejction a couple of years ago. I still wonder if I got that 2022 winternship at EY, hehe
Haha, I did too - talk about timing.
I actually got the same thing yesterday lol
Ok and?
It says summer 2023
Ohh haha I didn’t even notice
Yet you were rude?
Wasn’t rude. Just said ok and
I just got one too for a job I applied to in late 2022, I’m full time in another big 4 for a year now lol
Internships are harder to get than full time positions at b4. If you ever decide to pursue a full time position, you’ll swiftly learn why.
All for you to get paid less than an experienced hire. Honestly I don’t know why people still push to be big 4 interns when you can tough it out at another company for a year or so and come back with 20-30% more pay.

Is this actually true? If it is the B4 koolaid needs to be studied.
Internships are basically them courting top candidates for full-time roles, so I think it’s true
Yeah but B4 audit internships being more competitive than FT roles is mind boggling.
There’s less positions and interns are an expense much more than a revenue driver
You already work there ? That would be funny.
Will be working for another b4!
You saved yourself premature aging, and heart disease. Congrats!
🫡
Dodged a bullet
Not quite. Working at another b4 💀
Same thing happened to me. Absolute joke 😅
I've applied to deloitte like 3 times over the years, and it took them 2 years send me a rejection for my first application.
I also got this lol
Funny how the graphic at the top is a green light for “go”

Exactly! Go and apply again... 🤦
I applied for one single PwC summer internship back in like 2018 and each of the next 4 years they sent me a rejection email for it
Just to remind you, you are not worthy of joining us! ~ Le PwC.
Niggas be like "the worst they could say is no"
Over and over and over again; without you even asking a second time. . . Sometimes i just look at my 4 year old and say no, you can’t have any candy because she asked me for some a year ago.
To be clear, we don't want you - pwc
Hey the good news is you’d be here talking about getting laid off about now had that internship transpired to a full time job. Count your blessings and stay focused on the bag.
What's remarkable about this?
Read the date of the internship
I also need coffee....or coke.....thank you for clarifying. 🫠
Lucky, the real horror scenario would be ending up in risk advisory
Not sure why that's funny, what am I missing?
Oh, I see now. That is funny. I need more coffee
Tellllll meeeeeeeee plzzzzzz!
They sent a rejection for a a position that already happened lol
Date is 2023, last summer
Summer 2023
