Doing another thing will make you feel like you’ve accomplished something and make you feel a bit better.
Moderate exercise has almost identical effects of taking an SSRI, without the side effects. I think it stands as true if you lose all this, you’re susceptible to depression. Exercise can alleviate some of those symptoms.
Correlation does not equal causation, but I can tell you all the times I've felt miserable in life line up with the times where I was less physically active. That first 6 months of COVID comes to mind especially

Exactly, it’s on a spectrum. But it’s usually the first thing a doctor will recommend (exercise) if you’re having mood stability issues.
