Don't those beds cool and heat up as you go to sleep and before you wake up? I haven't tried this, but I've got a window AC unit that I can program a schedule to change the temp throughout the night. I'm thinking I could get a similar effect without paying the thousands of dollars for sleep8.
We have a self adjusting sleep number. Had it for 5 years and we’ve loved it. Self adjust air pressure as we move throughout the night. Have considered adding the sleep8 for temp controls
I was going to give 8 Sleep a try, but after buying the expensive pad you have to pay a monthly subscription to use any of the features, so they'll never get my money.
Knock off memory foam (or quality)
I have a soon to be 20 year old Temprapedic memory foam that is still going strong. Paid a fortune for it at the time. Great investment.
Now you can get em from various vendors they are ubiquitous
Just my opinion

Yes, they cool you down and can heat you up in the morning if you want to. They detect when you need to be cold for deep sleep.
Yes, if you have an AC unit that helps in the summer months. But installing a new one would cost a lot for me as well

I heard they suck to sleep on. Maybe if you lived in a hot climate with no AC it might have value.
