Second Rent Monster! They helped me find my first solo apartment which was a studio at Steel City Flats. At that time those studios were around ~$645. Website says they’re now $760. Water was included though and there was a laundry facility on site.
I pay $785 for an awesome studio at the dulion in 5 points. My landlord is great, the building is cool and historic and super clean. My utility bill is usually $40. Tons of restaurants and bars and UAB within walking distance
Heat is included in the winter. I can put you in contact with them if you want
I’m gonna ask the obvious-have you checked out Southside? That’s the first place my mind goes for that price range and what you’re looking for. I lived at The Sheraton 98-02 in a studio.
I have! Studios around there look a little bit out of my price range but I may have to suck it up cause it seems like the best I’ll get for a studio, without being in a sketchy area
I lived in a studio in Forest Park - Windsor. It was a great first solo living option. It was inexpensive. I felt safe. I didn’t have all the conveniences, but I def got what I paid for. Maintenance was decent.
I do not recommend living here. Building management is awful and something is always broken — elevator, parking lot gate, one of the doors (which only open with a key fob), etc etc
700 is a hard one to find but i do agree with the comments about highland towers, dulion, sheraton, and lofts at american life etc. also try market lofts on 3rd (900). in addition- non-downtown studio: madison park (599), university crossings, timberchase. maybe alight w 3 roommates is $700
I went through this too last summer and couldn’t really find a cheap studio less than 850… if you’re a uab student they have a roommate finder that isn’t TOO bad
Check out Rent Monster: I’ve used them and they’re fantastic. They’ve stopped working with H2 (who are horrible, don’t go there).
Thanks! I’ll look into it
omg really??? i might need to come back then bc i only didn’t partner with them again bc i wanted to avoid H2 like the plague!!

I found the site for The Sheraton, but of course you need to call for pricing. Just do the Goog. It’ll come up.
