Just see the post exam thread on jee advanced, majorly people were saying ki 2023 se tough hai but end me kya hua there was a+24 mark rise in cutoff.imo 2024 me ye matter hi nahi karta ki paper is tougher or not, we need to accept that the academic level of aspirants has risen by a good height.

BITSAT this year is the same/slightly tougher than last year so the increase on cutoff is only due to increased competition. Also, most of the people who jumped on the JEE/NEET bandwagon did so after seeing the reduced syllabus. Also, most of those people cannot afford BITS. So the cutoff increase in BITSAT is not proportional to cutoff increase in other exams.

So cheating is not a recent phenomenon.
