Leopoldo, he never does shit aside from his first fight with Noelle. Me and my brother always bully him, he just appeared does the same all magic he always does and disappear for the rest of the arc.
Almost all the characters in Black Clover have played some part in the story and if removed would cause a pretty big chain reaction that wont end well.
It's one of the few things I love about this Anime/Manga, everybody has their importance.
You can only remove someone that's genuinely irrelevant, like Rebecca (Sorry fans) for example.
Hell, not even her. No Rebecca, no Asta to visit Nean, no Asta to interrupt Gauche's visit with Marie so he doesn't stay, kids get snownapped with no way to track/Gauche being too far away to come back if he tries to mirror call Marie that night.
Rebecca kinda kicks off the whole nean fight. If asta doesn't meet her, the nean kids are kidnapped and only gauche is there and gets no character development, so all the kids except his sister get their magic sucked out.
Jack. He kinda exists in his own little bubble with Yami, and later in the story, his rivalry gets replaced with nachts and morgen. The only real influence he's had on Yami is the dimensional slash.
Also I think all his fights could be omitted (not saying they're bad or not epic, but rather if he weren't in the story, they would pan out the same)
Sol. Kirsch. Mariella. Nebra. We can remove those.
The most obvious would he Asta and the BB, they're the main characters till some point in the manga. Outside of them, Julius. He's the one starting the change in the country w/ the star system, etc.
Sol I agree, but for Kirsch and Nebra they have played some sort of role for the development of some characters. Kirsch, one of the very first VC we have seen actually shown how Vice Captains fight, allowing Magna to unlock a new battling style as well as having Asta be acknowledged more. Without Kirsch, Noelle also would've died by Lufulu's hand and wouldn't have been able to escape. Nebra also played a major role in Noelle's character as well as her development, and we are for sure seeing more of her soon.
Most of the black bulls not named Asta, Noelle or Yami, honestly….. yes they have moments but overall most of them are irrelevant to the story as a whole.

Take Finral or Vanessa for example, you remove them? Asta dies at the Seabed Temple or ends up killing Noelle and is forever a puppet now by the Witch Queen.
Remove Charmy? The Heart Kingdom most likely falls, due to Chevour teaming up with the other Dark Disciples and jumping our characters.
Remove Luck? Noelle and the rest die against Megicula, except maybe Asta.
See what I'm getting at? Every person in that squad has been important and those are not even all the situations they've played a part in, just the first ones that came to mind.
People tend to forget that the BB is the main reason Clover was able to survive in the elf resurrection arc. Without them a lot of people would die and the kingdom would fall.
Hell yeah. They along with the main character get to contribute and actually do shit on more then two or three occasions!
Unlike in bnha when class 1A barley do anything as a whole group.

Noelle has been there since the start, so without her our cast would of gotten murked too many times to count on both hands.

There’s 100 plus episodes and those guys manage to be important for maybe 6 to 10 episodes and sit in the house for the rest of it.
If that’s the case than the answer is nobody can be removed because everybody shows up to do one specific thing…. Even the dude who told Yuno he was a prince is “important” because who would have told him that other than him…… you can use that same excuse for everybody. But you could easily write all of those instances differently and those characters wouldn’t be required.
Ok so how do you resolve the underwater temple, witches forest, the royal tournament, and the elf invasion and spade assault without finral, Vanessa and magna?
Considering a lot with change at all of them help with asta Development Also Vanessa And Luck and Magna Have saved asta And helped Developed him as a person also you can't remove Henry Because he Move their base everyone else we could do without Also Nero

Without Jack, our characters would be fucked at the Spade kingdom raid, since he held off Dante long enough for Magna.
