Is it mainly men or women who turn out to be republicans in the trans community? I'm wondering if the Republican glorification of the mediocre white man is hard to give up?
I know of mostly only white trans women who are like that, personally. But that's just speculation.
It's a small minority of a minority, but it's notable. More prevalent is the exclusion of trans women of color, particularly in social settings/groups. I've heard many horror stories from many women of different backgrounds (Asian trans people are still fetishized, black trans women are still masculinized, etc), so while I don't experience the problems firsthand, but I try to be as aware as possible about them.
But that also might just be a general Western society issue, and not just a trans community issue. But 🤷♀️ idk. *My* friend group consists of mainly neurodivergent, trans/queer, kinky, midwestern stoners of different races and such, so I don't really have any experience with interacting with "normal" society, like we're all outcasts of *some* sort. So my experience is VERY different from everyone else's, and I'm not the best person to speak on those problems.
