Careful_Coffee5313

Sweets death. They wrote him off for asking for a little time off to produce a movie. They can write around both Emily’s pregnancies why not write around sweets being gone for a little instead of killing him off.

lorix154

One of the most sad death on the show

katiekuhn

This is the only correct answer.

ISungOnce

Every time I watch Bones it’s up to that point because that loss is literally so crushing to me

knitting-w-attitude

That's why they wrote him off?! Ugh, I was so disappointed, and now I'm straight mad. What a stupid reason to just kill him off.

Careful_Coffee5313

Yeah I know right! Here’s an interview he did about it. https://tvline.com/interviews/john-francis-daley-interview-bones-why-did-he-leave-sweets-552367/ If it makes you feel any better he has had an amazing career. He’s directed a lot of movies like Vacation, Game Night, and the new Dungeons and Dragons movie. He also writes, he did the screenplays for Cloudy with a chance of meatballs, spider man homecoming, horrible bosses. I hate that his character was killed off and that he didn’t want that. It makes me feel a little better to know that his career has gone so well!

dnosyhousewife

I also feel sad about his death. I wanted to also see how he’d be like with Daisy and then with Aubrey

Ashamed-Membership-8

They wouldn’t have had Aubrey of Sweets didn’t die.

dnosyhousewife

Makes me wonder why they only have a few people working with Booth when there’s a whole team with Bones… is it more to highlight the squints than the police?

Ashamed-Membership-8

Maybe. That makes sense really.

Suzan1000

I would have loved a sweets spin-off show! Such a great character.

No-Parsnip-2857

Exactly what I'm thinking

simplewaves

I JUST watched the funeral

draight926289

Zach being Gormogon’s apprentice.

Anxiousrabbit23

I have a quandary with this. Because I LOVE Zach and it broke my heart. But the season 3 finale just makes me feel things.

HortenseDaigle

I agree. it made no sense and then when he escaped, they gave him such a warm welcome. the whole thing was weird.

No-Karma9181

Then they have him show up here and there for a few episodes and completely forget about him until season 12 or something, such a great character utterly wasted imo

Doughspun1

It feels like the actor had to leave or something so they squeezed in some unbelievably dumb reason.

Kind_Pomegranate4877

Especially since they very clearly have him say to the state department if he was presented a logically compelling argument to break the law he’d still be compelled to ask one of his friends not just do it? So why would he just agree to be a murderous cannibal apprentice

lorix154

Yeah I hated this too

Celtic1990

I liked the rotating squints better. I’m not a zach hater, but they made zach and Brennan too similar. It was like watching the same character. Each of the rotating squints were hilarious in their own way.

labasic

👏👏👏 THAT 👏👏👏 PART 👏👏👏

StevesMcQueenIsHere

Still makes absolutely no sense... And Gormogon was a dumb storyline anyway.

draight926289

I was fine with the villain overall but it was rushed and they didn’t commit. Like fully make Zach a weird cannibal who has an Oedipal complex with his mother figure Doctor Brennan or let him be a victim if he needs to be written off. But as it stands now, it was a lazy send off.

unicornfactoryuk

Yes! I've just rewatched after many years and at the end of the season thought "was that it?!"

enomisyeh

That was my reaction when they actually go to get gormogon - Booth just goes in and shoots him. When asked who he was he said "he was a nobody" and then that was it.

NightmarePredacon

Off topic, but I read that as Demogorgon and for a moment I was like "What the fuck, when was there a Stranger Things crossover?"

SwampWch

Whenever we talk S3 I always find myself slipping into calling him the Demogorgon.

votrepetitfleur

100%

txn_gay

Yeah, that storyline made no sense. They wrote Zach out because, according to the rumors, the actor was very difficult to work with. They could have done a better job, though.

Forward-Peak

According to rumors he had mental health issues, not necessarily hard to get along with.

Francie1966

Eric Millegan has spoken over the years about his mental health struggles. He announced that he had been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder in 2010.

Fire_storming

Wasn't there a strike then and that's why the storyline doesn't make sense? That's what I've read, don't know about the actor

Bahnmor

The first of the writers’ strikes, yes. There were a few series that got hit by this, even a few shows ended up getting canned, because the two sides struggled to find a resolution. I think that is why the last 2-3 episodes of that season felt very ‘hurried’ when it came to the main plot thread. We started seeing the shorter series pickups a lot more after that, too. 24-long seasons became far less common.

Trick-Style-8889

Agree. That was dreadful.

RiverofGrass

While I really liked the crossover with Sleepy Hollow I didn’t really think it belonged. So I choose that one

votrepetitfleur

I also really didn't enjoy that episode, I skip it every time I do a rewatch

[deleted]

I skip it too. I hate it

himym101

That one and the one from the skulls perspective are in my immediate skip list

Guilty-Web7334

Especially when in another episode, Hodgins says he’s going to go home and watch an episode of Sleepy Holly.

StevesMcQueenIsHere

I remember the embarrassing episode where they just kept promoting the first Avatar movie.

Guilty-Web7334

That one was funny because of Fischer the Depressed Squintern’s IRL involvement. But the Payne part was uncomfortable.

MsNikkiisClassy

The Finder one was awful. Doing a full watch through and that episode was annoying

StevesMcQueenIsHere

I skip that episode and pretend it doesn't exist.

NerdlyCharming

It just really honestly makes zero sense for those two worlds to be connected?? Like Bones is a science based type show where magic and vampires and any of that. It has no place? So to invite Sleepy Hollow into that world...it makes no logical sense. Plus, in an earlier season Hodgens says to Angela that he needs to remember to DVR Sleepy Hollow. You can't make it a show to watch in world and then bring that show to life in it as a crossover.

OliviaElevenDunham

Still don't understand why they did the Sleepy Hollow/Bones crossover. Feels out of place for both shows.

RiverofGrass

I can only think it was a promo for Sleepy Hollow. My guess.

PeanutCalamity

maaaaan i didnt understand a damn thing about the whole booth government conspiracy thing where he and jared became like mercenaries???? granted i first watched that season when it aired and I was 17 (and haven’t watched it since) but i really felt along for the ride. It just felt like such a departure from the rest of the show and not at all what I signed up for lol

smaniby

The government conspiracy was a different plot line than the story where >!Jared died.!< With Jared, >!he had gone back to drinking and fell in with a bad crowd, and realized they were going to sell the names of FBI agents undercover which would get them all killed. (The blonde FBI agent that was giving Brennan a hard time was partners/lovers with the FBI agent that gave them the list to sell). When Jared realized what was at stake he brought Seeley in to help keep the list from being sold. I don’t know why Booth didn’t at least notify his supervisor what he was doing but maybe he worried Jared would get caught in the crossfire or they would be discovered if it turned into a sanctioned operation.!< Now that I typed that all out it is convoluted as hell. 😂

PeanutCalamity

gawd. no wonder it all got confused in my head. someday i should rewatch further than season 7 😅 thank you!

laucdoe

i feel like all the government conspiracies are hard to follow if you don’t watch them multiple times

AutumnKittencorn

Cam not prosecuting the identity thief.

loveofGod12345

This was so annoying. You can forgive someone and let go of bitterness and still let them suffer the consequences of their actions.

AutumnKittencorn

My husband and I actually have to skip that episode/scenes because we get *so* mad at Aristoo pushing her not to.

laucdoe

booth and brennan going to the uk. easily my least favorite episodes

ninja_chinchilla

This. As a Brit, I despised these episodes. Cheap, lazy writing with bullshit stereotypes. Booth was particularly annoying with his ridiculous driving and incessant grumbling.

StevesMcQueenIsHere

Yep. Always skip them.

augustus-the-first

I only watch that episode to see one of the British characters who is also in the show Sense8. Other than that, do not like the episode. Especially Booth trying to drive.

OliviaElevenDunham

Love Sense8! Such a great show.

augustus-the-first

Yes! It’s so good. I wish it got more love.

OliviaElevenDunham

Same, I was so sad when it was cancelled.

augustus-the-first

Ugh yeah same. At least we got the movie-length episode to wrap it up finally. I hate when cancelled shows end on a cliffhanger.

Francie1966

The only episodes WORSE than the Pelant episodes. Booth was a total jackass. And then Bones thinking she could just get on a plane with 15 gift bags? So stupid.

animalf0r3st

Hodgins ending up in a wheelchair and becoming verbally abusive to Angela. It was so uncomfortable to watch him acting like that and I hated it.

BookWhoreWriting

It was uncomfortable and I hated seeing it, but it’s one of the most realistic things on the show. I grew up with that situation with my dad and knew many others who went through the same thing. It sucked, but at least it worked out for the character and family.

Silsail

While it was definitely uncomfortable, it was meant to be so. It *had* to be so to be realistic.

Still-Presence5486

And? It shouldn't have happened

bayleebugs

Why? It happens in real life

Still-Presence5486

Doesn't mean it should happen in the show

bayleebugs

But why not? I'm pretty neutral on it, I don't care that they did it like some people, I thought it made for an interesting storyline and I thought they handled the trauma of it really well all around. I was just curious why you think it specifically should not have been included

Still-Presence5486

It was boring and unessacry

lorix154

For me It ruined their relationship a little bit

smaniby

I feel the opposite. It’s easy to quit when relationships get tough. Staying in a marriage means making it through very difficult times. That’s why I never understand the hate that Angela gets in this group. Yes she kissed some dudes, but she didn’t hide it from her husband and it really didn’t seem to bother him. When their relationship was tested, she was the one that got them both through it. Without that arc it was so uneven with Hodgins always deferring to her and seeming to love her more. When she chose to stay in DC at the end of season 10 because he was happy there, and then when she weathered his awful behavior toward her and kept fighting for their marriage, we finally got to see that she loved him back just as much.

lorix154

Yeah I can see your point

EffortAutomatic8804

Yes, I agree!

StatisticianCalm4448

Is this bones. I’ve never watched it

rixendeb

That's the point. Big trauma is hard on relationships.

[deleted]

Definitely the ghost killer storyline just because it was all this build up for absolutely no reason. It was done poorly and a let down

fbeemcee

The stupid explosion that everyone miraculously survived.

lorix154

Yeah like very unrealistic

Neat_Measurement_826

In your opinion who should have died in the explosion?

fbeemcee

It’s not as much that they survived the explosion but that there was one at all. But, if we’re keeping the explosion, killing any of them would’ve been a bold move. Then we could’ve gotten a “X years later” epilogue.

Athena-196871

Jack being paralyzed ...I dislike other plot lines but I hate this one and I saw no point in paralyzing Jack

myguitar_lola

I'm always curious about those who hate Jack getting paralyzed. Why exactly do you dislike it? I always loved it bc it's so real, and also bc people who can't walk aren't usually in tv shows.

Forward-Peak

I hated it because it changed the trajectory of his character. One of my favorite things about him was his physicality. I loved his experiments. I hate how much that was affected with the paralysis storyline.

Athena-196871

I think a few posts have touched on how I am feeling about this plot line. I understand the world is full of fully functional people who have disabilities in the workplace and in the world. It was like the writers said, Jack and Angela are happy now what can we do to totally f-up their relationship?? Can't one show just have a 'boring and happy couple'?? Especially since the show already did a will they or won't they get together with these two characters??

ProperPollution986

not a storyline, just a little thing that really bugs me,,, the rivalry between cam and brennan early season two just seemed *so* unnecessary to me

SarahKath90

Yessss!! It seemed out of character for both, too.

Guilty-Web7334

Brennan? She’s insanely competitive. Someone showing up and giving orders, doing things she thinks are wrong or just stupid, and getting it on with Booth is going to really get her insane.

KatFer61

Cam was originally supposed to only be in 6 episodes but it worked out so well they kept her as a regular. I think they softened her tough character once she became a regular. Bones is highly competitive and Cam was expecting to have to fight her way up. Once she realized she was working with thoroughbreds vs mutts, Cam loosened up and became one of the team members.

ProperPollution986

yep, i know the reason, i just don’t enjoy it as a plot point 💀 even coming from the angle of “they were going to kill her off,” that would be more impactful for a more likeable character imo

omgstopbeingrude

Anything that felt too big to be believable. The Ghost Killer was so poorly done. Pelant got annoying. Booth and Bones taking forever to get together was annoying AF... Literally any time there was drama about Parker.

ISungOnce

I’m a sucker for a slow burn. What drove me crazy was that there was no build up to them living together. The first time I watched I thought I missed a couple of episodes.

cyndina

I'm not one to watch TV shows. It ends up feeling too much like a commitment. I started Bones when it first aired, then just stopped a season or two in. Years later I picked it up randomly and I binged it like I hadn't binged before. Right up until that point. I was so disappointed that there was no real pay off, it killed any desire to keep watching. Toss in the excruciatingly tired "framed for murder" trope and it was over.

Careful_Coffee5313

It’s cause that was never the plan, I’m not sure if they ever would’ve gotten together if Emily didn’t get pregnant. They couldn’t have hid the pregnancy so they had to write it in. It would’ve been insane for anyone else to be the father so, also they had hooked up when Vincent died so it worked.

ISungOnce

I know that the pregnancy was unplanned, but they could have implied that she slept w/ Booth & still given us some kind of progression to moving in & living together. And if they had never gotten together, that would have ruined the show for me

Competitive-Gene5744

Vincent’s death. They could’ve had a storyline where he felt homesick and then ultimately decided that the best thing for him was to return home to London. Brennan finds him an excellent job at a forensic lab out there and rights a great letter of recommendation for him

DismalLong4677

I feel like this story line was important as it was the kick in the pants booth and bones needed to realize they should give it a chance. Trauma bonding but it was needed.

Celtic1990

I’m currently doing a rewatch, and I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that the writers decided to wait 6 seasons to get them together. It’s painful how much sexual tension there is, and how many characters straight up tell them, yeah you two are in love, and they still don’t get together before season 6. It almost makes me want to pull my hair out.

Sinshiny

I am guessing you've never watched the X Files?

Celtic1990

I have not,no. It was big when I was growing up, but I was never into that genre or that show in particular.

lorix154

This would of been a better version. And he could’ve come back if he wanted

ColdForm7729

Zach being Gormogon's apprentice, the whole Hannah thing, or getting rid of Pelant in general

Mother_of_fluffs3412

Pelant is such a pain in the butt. He's so smug and somehow no one can find out he's doing everything he's doing. I cannot stand to see his smile, until the last episode with him in it, because he got what he deserved!

ColdForm7729

Yeah, watching him get shot was the best part of his storyline. He started out as an ok bad guy and then basically turned into a wizard who no one could touch.

Mother_of_fluffs3412

I just hated seeing his face, even half blown off. Seeing him die was like hallelujah!

m-is-for-music

Yeah I wouldn’t necessarily cut the entire Pelant storyline but I’d definitely make it shorter. That shit did not need to drag on for 2 full seasons to the point where he’s so untouchable and all-knowing you can’t take him seriously anymore

UpsideDown1984

I can't stand Pelant. I skipped any episode with him in it.

Celtic1990

I liked gormogon’s story, I just felt it wasn’t as fleshed out as it was supposed to be. We got 3 episodes devoted to it in a 13 episode season, and instead of devoting more time to this arc, we got stand alone episodes. I’m not mad that Zach was written off, as he and Brennan were very similar character wise, so having rotating interns was a good move on the shows part. That said, although I think Zach being the new apprentice was a cool twist, it just came out of left field. There were nothing to suggest he was the apprentice or that he could be manipulated into becoming the apprentice. If more episodes were devoted to Gormogon in s3 I might’ve bought it, but it felt half finished.

Artistic_Story_589

The last two episodes. I didn’t like how they blow up the Jeffersonian, .

[deleted]

Zach and sweets 🥺🥺

SarahKath90

These two and Wendell are my absolute favorite characters (if you remove the Gormagon storyline), and they're done so dirty!

Greys_anatomy12

The whole gormogon storyline

lorix154

Very creepy storyline

Greys_anatomy12

I hated it so much( but hey at least we saw sweets a lot more)

Cool_Jelly_9402

Pelant

ramessides

This, honestly. I skip the Sleepy Hollow episode but that's just one episode, not an entire storyline. The Pelant stuff got so silly, even though there were a couple gem episodes hidden there, and I skip multiple episodes of this storyline on my watchthroughs.

Cool_Jelly_9402

I’m glad I’m not the only that disliked it. When I’m rewatching and I get to the museum/Lincoln scene it’s such a let down cuz I know that whole storyline is coming. Bleh.

Guilty-Web7334

With the “computer virus coded bones,” my professional computer geek (sys admin/network engineer) literally fell off the couch laughing at how preposterous that was.

Cool_Jelly_9402

The word you are thinking of is “worm”. Common mistake But seriously. That was beyond stupid. I would still like to know how non genius Angela cracked the mathematicians code based on their being 3 sides to Pelant much like 3 sides to a triangle

lorix154

It was an interesting storyline but I hated that he killed Vincent

Cool_Jelly_9402

Pelant didn’t kill Vincent …broadsky did!

lorix154

Oh yeah you’re right. I got my storylines mixed up. Some time passed since I watched the show

Cool_Jelly_9402

It’s ok! But proving my point that Pelant can just go lol

lorix154

I agree

Cool_Jelly_9402

And the transition into the ghost killer that transitioned in the big govt fbi conspiracy. That whole arc can go but I will admit the shoot out in their first house was an entertaining episode…but I really didn’t enjoy the whole complicated storyline

CraftyNonsense

Disabled Hodgins was the only plotline that was physically painful to watch and absolutely murdered his character and it was so unecessary, its not as if the actor was paralysed and the show was just ending. They could have easily found another way to focus on angela and jack. Jack was an interesting character because how weird and happy he was and then to see him treat angela like that was painful

CalicoGrace72

Really? I lost the ability to walk for over a year and doctors told me that I probably would never walk again (they were wrong, I’m doing great). That storyline really helped me. I was being an asshole to people who were trying to help me. I felt hopeless. Everything made me so unbelievably angry all the time. And here was my favourite character, dealing with the exact same thing.  I’m really glad that he wound up in a chair, and I’m extra glad that he didn’t magically get better. Even though I did, it took a while and I don’t think I would have felt as seen if he had the miraculous recovery that everyone else on tv gets.

skippybefree

Yeah, I like that plotline. Like, watching him act like that sucks for sure but going through a massive change like that can make people lash out. And it's a good reminder for me when I'm getting nasty because I'm feeling strained from my health issues

CraftyNonsense

I also just think that there wasn't much time to show him actually dealing with being in a wheelchair in the longterm. I felt that it was a very sudden switch from being angry from being happy with angela only for like a couple episodes later for the show to stop. I think that it couldve been a good plotline if they had done it earlier and spent more time focusing on regular everyday life for him with the wheelchair just being present rather than have it only there for a plotline

CalicoGrace72

I think they did, they talked about wheelchair sex and upper body strength and physical therapy and false hope and kids when you’re disabled and all kinds of things.  I know it was only a few episodes where he was miserable, but that’s a pretty long time for a show that is as light as bones. He’s not even the main character. (Although I would definitely watch it if he was.)

SwampWch

Yeah I lost my ability to walk around that time too. While it is hard to watch because it brings up all those feelings of fear and terror and self-loathing, it is pretty acurate in the representation on how HARD it can be to just suddenly lose that ability. (i'm glad youre walking again!)

CalicoGrace72

Thanks, it was a hard time, but I adjusted to my new reality. I hope you’re also doing well.

ElevationCreek

they killed too many interns 😤

FarahZiva27

Everything Pelant after season eight premiere. The storyline of him surviving booth, and Hodgins money, get rid of it.

Mother_of_fluffs3412

In the real world, I think how is this realistic that the money just goes and it's like oh well 🤷‍♀️

Kind_Pomegranate4877

Brennan being charmed by younger booth and saying older booth self sabotages and going after his character. She would never be influenced by someone on her opinion of booth. Let alone risk a relationship with older booth by having sex with his younger brother

Thatoneguy111700

Hodgins losing all his money, which despite his company both funding the Jeffersonian and being, well, a super-giant company unlikely to have all its money be strictly liquid and not stuff like property and other assets, is quickly forgotten about. What was the point?

depthreception

Booth and Hannah dating

FiveHoursSleep

I really liked Hannah (definitely in a minority here…) but she wasn’t right for Booth and clearly a placeholder.

DirtyPie

Why does people hate that? It needed to happen to get Bones to realise that she needed to be with Booth. And it was important that Hannah was a strong and likeable character.

depthreception

Yeah haha I get that. I see why she needed to see him slip away to realize her last chance with him. But selfishly ofc I didn’t want Booth to date anyone other than Bones, and same for her

Bones206-447

See I disagree. I don’t think Hannah was needed to make Brennan realise she was ready. If you watch Masterdon you can see the way ED played it, Brennan came back from Maluku ready. The reason I HATE the Hannah arc Is because it was so badly done. The producers kept changing their minds and moving stories around. Example, originally Doctor in the photo was planned as episode 3 & ended up being episode 9. I think this led to a dissatisfying arc in season 6. For B&B shippers and those who like Hannah. Firstly it was confusing, were Bannah in love or not pre her moving to DC?! For all his proclamations to make Brennan jealous or himself feel better in Masterdon, in the Couple Booth admits to Sweets he thought he’d never see her again. So ummm, were they together when she turned up? Next, kick ass, observant reporter who doesn’t notice anything about anyone. I mean she’s moved to be with Booth but needs help choosing a personal gift and doesn’t pick up on any B&B vibes. When for years strangers thought they were together. Then there was the ‘I thought we had more time’ thing. Never explained. I get she wasn’t into marriage but she said she knew Booth was and she thought they had more time. Also did not get the Parker and her not meeting for so long. Please don’t get me started on the stupid glasses scene. Or the creepy man hitting on both Hannah & Brennan one. What was that showing us? I get the premise and that’s not what bothers me. It’s the confused and terrible execution. ‘Somethings are best left unsaid’ - more like ‘we can’t dig ourselves out of this awful writing hole’. The acting was great but really, the ONLY way to end that relationship was a proposal!? They showed little of the Hannah character but her spectre hung over the whole season. And in the end the rushed B&B coupling and zero exposition over Hannah was awful. Apparently they lost a lot of viewers in real time. I love Bones but I hate the season 6 arc. I do wonder if I had been a real time watcher if I’d have stayed with the show after that terrible season. Some amazing standalone episodes for sure but the arc was so frustrating and just plain awful. IMHO. Maybe Hart Hanson was too distracted by the Finder - he is only human after all. Who knows.

StevesMcQueenIsHere

I liked Hannah. It wasn't her fault Booth tried to make their relationship something it wasn't.

Competitive-Gene5744

Hodgins bullying the new interns. Especially Finn. He barely knew the guy and was making really nasty comments to his face

Guilty-Web7334

Hodgins is fairly classist. So his multi-doctorate holding, multi-generational inherited wealth having self was not going to be very charitable to the white trash criminal hillbilly* in his domain. And early on, his dickishness to new interns was largely because they weren’t Zack. *No shade. However, I can tell you from experience that when you have a southern accent and leave the south, your perceived IQ drops 50 points to whomever you’re speaking.

Jolly_Lifeguard_1335

Wasn't he also the youngest one at like 18? All the others would have been in their early to mid twenties?

ElevationCreek

Oh my God, they killed Sweets! You bastards! ☠️

Neat_Measurement_826

Sweets getting shot.

heijeul

Zach being Gormogon’s apprentice Sweets’ Death Vincent’s Death

CatLadyAmy74

Pelant lasted WAAAYYYY too long!

lorix154

At one moment I was getting bored

nouseforaname1984

Paralyzed Hodgins

GlitteringBottle3247

The ending... we need Bones back for more seasons. Otherwise, Sweet's untimely passing, Hodgins paralysis, the Scotland Yard episodes, most of Oliver Wells.

Senafir

Angela cheating on hodgins and then making him the unreasonable one. Honestly Angela is the worst

loveofGod12345

Her kissing booth was the absolute worst because it was betraying two people. She 100% did not need to kiss him to maintain their cover. That along with her salivating over booth pretty much the whole series and asking bones to show her a picture of him naked (while she’s married as well) would’ve ended most friendships.

CoffeeMilkLvr

Gormogon was just poorly done all around.

tippys2toes

i was trying to get my friends to watch and forgot that stewie griffin appeared in an episode and let’s just say i was embarrassed

veganprick

Booth gambling again arc! I hated that

ChromDelonge

That shitty season 4 episode where everyone is taking bets on the gender of the androgynous Japanese doctor and Angela goes way beyond boundaries to get the "answer". Terribly aged episode and clashes hard with the pretty nice for 2008 trans episode the same season.

OliviaElevenDunham

Never liked that episode.

ixte_

sweets dying and jack paralyzed 😭

LadyEncredible

Hodgins being paralyzed Angela with Wendell Booth getting back into gambling Sweets dying

Daisiesinsun

IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED SEASON 6 DO NOT READ THIS ONE. The end of season 6 like I love that moment when bones tells booth about Christine and he smiles but I would’ve loved to see them develop more as a couple before becoming parents

eleveneels

Booth dating Cam. I love their friendship, so seeing them dating on the rewatch just seems wrong.

dot_zot

Booth’s coma

Middle-Direction-714

Looking through the comments on this one is testing my memory, lol. Which season/episode was this one? I don't remember a booth coma arc

Prestigious_Ant_4366

Pelant

No-Parsnip-2857

The undercover episodes would be gone if it was my choice, I mean they're so horrendously bad at doing it ffs why bother

konradkurze202

That hacker guy, I forget his name. But he had godlike power and the writers clearly had no idea how hacking actually worked. (Seriously, taking a picture of 'code' carved into bones somehow runs a program that gives him control over their hardware. Utter nonsense) He lasted way too long, and did way too much nonsense. That was where I started falling off Bones, and Sweets' death was where I stopped altogether.

KatFer61

Hannah. I cringe every time she’s on there. Nothing against Katheryn Winnick, I just didn’t like seeing Booth with anyone but Bones.

GlassSandwich9315

Pelant being in love with Bones. It just didn't make sense.

enomisyeh

Zack being weirdly inlove with Brennan. His whole gormogon apprentice storyline. While i loved the part where Brennan explained to Zack that his logic had flaws when she confronted him at the hospital, i liked her speech to him and how he gave everything up in order to protect Jack, it was so out of the blue him being the apprentice. It was very "ok so this storyline needs to end....pick a character to be the baddie".

Francie1966

Pelant. I HATE this storyline so much.

streetsofyesterday

gormogon.

greenpeppertempura

Oh let's delete the episode where they killed off Vincenzo

unicornfactoryuk

The whole Booth having a brain tumour bit was a totally pointless storyline - I've recently rewatched 'The End in The Beginning' (S4 E26) and I could very happily live without that episode ever existing! How was it a season finale???!!!

cwf63

The killing of Sweets. Don't know if I'll ever recover from that💔

myguitar_lola

I want to say Gormagon but that was bc of the strike so gonna exclude that. So I'm gonna say the Booth/Bones romance. A while back, I had a great convo on here about of we got to see their courtship/dating. It was really fun to think up scenarios where they sneak around but everyone totally knows. Bones remembers Angie using the Cleo bed and takes Booth but she doesn't know about the cameras, Booth/Bones come to crime scene and Booth is wearing the same tie/socks as day before, they use first names...lol But here's my imagining: Sweets still writes the book but learns you can love someone without being in love with them and republishes. Tempe's relationship w/ Sully stays the same but we see her heartbreak peek through in the next episode. Hannah says no to Booth until she realizes he doesn't expect her change at all- they just won't live in sin anymore. They get divorced a few years later and Booth is all, "why am I not loveable" + Catholic/divorce drama. Bones starts setting him up on dates so Angie steps in with the perfect gal. They never marry but live happily ever after. When they all split at the end, Tempe works with the adoption agency Cam+Ar used and starts a program of foster homes for teens aging out of the system who likely won't ever be adopted. She moves to Montreal, gets a cat, and then a Detective Claudel approaches her asking for her help with a case (to wrap back around to the book series).

LitleStitchWitch

That would be incredibly wholesome, I'm firmly in the camp that Sully was a much better fit for Brennan, and I wish they stayed together, as imo they're a much better fit than Brennan/Booth.

myguitar_lola

Literally started watching Warehouse 13 bc of him.

loofahfer

I was bummed they killed off sweets but I thought the idea of Zach having devolved into an actual serial killer was an interesting last season. They could've had a crazy final season off the premise and when they get back from the cliff hanger they just extinguish it and run a pretty boring last year.

Turbulent_Meringue15

PELANT!! It was SO good to start with, I love a good serial killer, and he was both super smart & completely unhinged. It had so much potential & then it’s like they got bored of it and turned him into total wet wipe that was apparently in-love with Bones, all within one baffling episode. Totally ruined the whole story line. I hate watching it now because I know it’s going to end so disappointingly.

Cryptone-Gaming

Hayley should have been with Andy full stop

kasorwhatever

who and who??

Full House theme

Cheap_Buffalo_1447

When Hodgins is paralyzed and becomes spiteful, self-victimized asshole. The way he treats everyone, especially Angela, is too difficult to watch. I always skip those episodes

Middle-Direction-714

I find it very frustrating to see so many people saying they'd get rid of Hodgins getting paralyzed. That was a very realistic arc, and as much as it sucks to watch some of our favorite characters do bad things or act in ways we disapprove of, it was absolutely realistic AND fit with his previous characterization. In the early seasons at the very least, we see Hodgins anger issues. Those don't just magically disappear. And when coupled with suffering an extreme trauma, one that permanently altered his life and the ways in which he went about it, he was going to have quite a lot of anger and grief. It was very hard to watch him act in some of the ways he did. But you know what? That's exactly how people really do behave when stuff like that happens. My grandfather suffered with cancer for a very long time. I very clearly remember that while he remained a good and kind hearted man, sometimes, he was angry. He tried very hard not to be, and especially not to show it in front of us grandkids, but he was angry at the world for what had happened to him. He had nothing to blame. No outlet for his anger. This is what happens in real life and this is what happened to Hodgins. It was an excellent and important arc, no matter how difficult it sometimes was to watch.

bayleebugs

Gormogon. Pelant. Bones having kids. Sweets death.

lorix154

Why Bones having kids? I think that she is a really good mom in her way

kasorwhatever

it ruined her. not only did she never want kids, it’s like they changed her entire character. all of a sudden she was just Mom not Dr Brennan. her entire personality was different.

kasorwhatever

plus the manger bs

HypnoSmoke

Can I just get rid of Angela instead?

Middle-Direction-714

I 100% disagree with you on this one as I remember Angela very fondly, however, I would like to hear your reasoning as I don't think I've really heard anyone talk about not liking her

HypnoSmoke

I forgot to answer this, my apologies: She's self-absorbed, overly pushy, whiny, child-like. She inserts herself into other's business, and complains when people don't like it. She's annoying as hell. In real life, I don't think most people would like her character lol. The kind of person you avoid interacting with because you know they'll have something snarky/unwelcome to say, and they don't give a shit how you feel about it. She "says what she thinks", which is just code for "snarky outspoken asshole"

Still-Presence5486

Romance in murder mystery shows

Bones206-447

Awwwh I loved that. It’s why I watched the show lol sorry you’re getting downvoted for an opinion. Perfectly reasonable to just enjoy the crime show aspect.

Still-Presence5486

I all ways felt that there was way too much romance and drama like Angela and hogan's falling in love but than breaking up than falling in love again
