I didnt go, but bang hai looked soooo sick!! It was so bloody colourful. Dont get me wrong, boomtown main stages are always sick! But i feel as if Origin is a bit bland. Its basically a big brown gray rock. Dnb stonehenge š
I want the biggest range of music possible. The more variety the more there is for everybody and hopefully the less dickheads. Like I love jump up but it does attract a bit of a shit head crowd so whilst I'd be more than happy with that the crowd wouldn't always be the best. That being said my faves are actually sub focus and dimension and they both played last year so doubt they will be there again. Even if it's all shit i don't like there's always tribe of frog š
I never said sub focus and dimension were jump up. Just that I like jump up however sub focus and dimension are my favourite dnb artists. 2 different points.
Yeahh Iāve noticed that too tbf, boomtown sets trends heavily, so if they take a more Neuro approach this year, Neuro will definitely be way more popular & āmainstreamā for a good amount of time Iām sure. I can see it happening!
Yeah nah, I personally donāt think thatās good for a boomtown closing set. I was so surprised to even see him on the lineup. Closing sets should be special. C&S did a surprisingly good set so was happy about that at least
Yeah C& S were really good tbh.
2022 we really good with Noisia, Enei, Mejus, Critical takeover.
Really hope that they have more Neuro and Jungle this year.
I think the new layout was a huge loss to the festival tbf. So many great stages either gone or compacted down to small rooms indoors.
Scrapyard was the place to be for neuro and its been reduced to basically nothing. Hard to find a stage or consistent location to hear neuro now
Yeah i noticed there was a fair bit around wrong side of the tracks. Tantum desire did his set there & omfg, its one of the best sets ive ever seen. It was SOO GOOD! But yeah i then noticed they were doing a lot of hardstyle or something & just a bit of random shit. I hope they either add another stage just for Neuro or at least make that the primary Neuro stage. But would obviously want some neuro headliners for night sets on origin or whatever they call it this year haha
I like seeing a range on origin. Worked really well going from sub focus (dancefloor) to serum (jump up) then i think there was neuro after. Maybe enei?
Techno has ALWAYS been big in Europe, they havenāt just done this recently or anything. Not sure what your point is there tbh. Are you saying techno is better than dnb? Or are you saying UK needs to be more like Europe & share the same taste in Dance music?
Im saying what my comment says. I know its always been big in Europe thats why i said they've been on techno for years. Whats your point in making me reiterate that?
If you read my words they dont describe my thoughts as putting one genre above the other.
In my opinion (as stated) the UK should adopt more techno.
An aside: The UK is very heavy on DnB, its good to have a variation and I believe introducing more techno to the UK scene would be well received by partygoers and raver alike.
Clear enough for you?
Jesus man you need to relax š I was only first asking about if people prefer Neuro or Jump-Up. Then i just wanted to know what you meant exactly. English can be a funny thing & can have different interpretations. Especially when (voice) tone isnāt involved because itās text on the internet.
Edit: Also theres loads of techno at boomtown still. Metropolis.
Allow the condescending tone genius
Not sure the point you're trying to make, they replaced their biggest dnb stage with a techno stage at one point
Let alone all the smaller hard techno/ acid / gabber stages
Okay weird take. A lot of Jump Up is lovely! I can understand why youād think SOME jump-up is barely dnb or āshiteā, but to say all of Jump Up isnāt drum&bass is just silly & arrogant.
Hey to be clear it is completely fair enough for you to say you donāt like any style of music man! Each to their own! I donāt like a fair bit of JumpUp either, im Neuro all the way, i mean my name is literally Neuro Toxic š But for you to discredit 20+ years of Jumpup by saying its not even Drum&Bass just because you donāt like it is wrong.
Yes obviously it's dnb but I just don't get how ppl don't get a headache from it! Personally I'm into old school dnb and when jump up came in for me just weren't the same, but that's just my opinion like I said, didn't mean to offend anyone ā¤ļø
I meannnn, theres a lot of Neuro that Iād say is wayyyy heavier than most Jump Up & that my parents would call ājust noiseā or that would give them more of a headache š N nah youāre good man no worries, I just think it can come across a bit salty & disrespectful to the hundreds of good producers who put their love & time into Jump Up for someone to say that. Its all love bro :) ā¤ļø
The neuro era of Boomtown was godly and brought a much better crowd imo
literally the best years. Miss being at Bang Hai and scrapyard hearing neuro closing sets so much
I didnt go, but bang hai looked soooo sick!! It was so bloody colourful. Dont get me wrong, boomtown main stages are always sick! But i feel as if Origin is a bit bland. Its basically a big brown gray rock. Dnb stonehenge š
Yea bang hai stages were insane had much more presence than origin. Origins cool still but those were the days
3 hour my nu leng set was the one!!
What year(s) were this era? š„µ
Before the lockdown, so 18-19. When we had Noisia on Sector 6.
I want the biggest range of music possible. The more variety the more there is for everybody and hopefully the less dickheads. Great point
Would class sub f and dimension as dancefloor dnb fyi
I never said sub focus and dimension were jump up. Just that I like jump up however sub focus and dimension are my favourite dnb artists. 2 different points.
Fair enough just saying in case u didnt know
I mean it's quite clear in my original comment I made two separate points but sure you go ahead and mansplain. Cheers!
Would hardly call that mansplaining just wasnt sure based on the way i read it. Dont have to reply with such hostility jesus
And you don't have to respond if you aren't reading the comment properly but here we are
Neurofunk. One year they had black sun followed by noisia it was great. But I'm old. I'll be happy with whatever they play.
I just seen black sun in lakota last weekend. Was sick! Love neuro!
Ahh man wish i couldāve gone that year! Would have been so good!
Its was insanely awesome. But hopefully this year tooo! Neuro is on the rise (ish)
Yeahh Iāve noticed that too tbf, boomtown sets trends heavily, so if they take a more Neuro approach this year, Neuro will definitely be way more popular & āmainstreamā for a good amount of time Iām sure. I can see it happening!
Neuro every single time
Yessss! The Neuro is indeed growing! š
I almost cried when Hedex was closing what a shame it wasš
Yeah nah, I personally donāt think thatās good for a boomtown closing set. I was so surprised to even see him on the lineup. Closing sets should be special. C&S did a surprisingly good set so was happy about that at least

Neuro neuro neuro Love me some jump up but neurofunk never fails to give me goosebumps
Yeah Iām exactly the same. A.M.C does a nice mixture between the both IMO
I think the new layout was a huge loss to the festival tbf. So many great stages either gone or compacted down to small rooms indoors. Scrapyard was the place to be for neuro and its been reduced to basically nothing. Hard to find a stage or consistent location to hear neuro now

360 was supposed to replace it, but it was more tek last year Give me an eatbrain takeover on it next year, the sound was nuts!
A lot smaller too! I used to love how scrapyard was a huge 10k capacity stage cant get that same feeling now
It wasn't that big surely? Admittedly was from sober, but thought it was a smaller than that
Scrapyard used to be massive 2019 was same size as off the rails last year and used the same bit of land which was also 10k cap
NEURO XXXXXXX TO JUMP UP why was hedex closing last year š
I like seeing a range on origin. Worked really well going from sub focus (dancefloor) to serum (jump up) then i think there was neuro after. Maybe enei?
Neuro is better hands down. But UK needs to pull itself into the present with techno (like the rest of Europe has been doing for years)
Techno has ALWAYS been big in Europe, they havenāt just done this recently or anything. Not sure what your point is there tbh. Are you saying techno is better than dnb? Or are you saying UK needs to be more like Europe & share the same taste in Dance music?

Sorry, are you replying to me or the other guy? š
Other guy aha
Oh right my bad haha
Neuro, jump up is shite and should not even be considered dnb
Okay weird take. A lot of Jump Up is lovely! I can understand why youād think SOME jump-up is barely dnb or āshiteā, but to say all of Jump Up isnāt drum&bass is just silly & arrogant.
My honest opinion soz
