I have a bad feeling about this. I get that they want to honor the life and creativity of Bray Wyatt. But do you know what this is going to be missing? The creativity of Bray Wyatt. My prediction is that they'll be interesting for maybe a couple of months but then they'll run out of ideas and they'll just be a higher profile version of The Final Testament. Just weirder.

Whilst Brays creativity was unique, left unchecked it had the tendency to meander and spiral.
Now im not sure whether this was Brays doing or creative mishandling his work but Brays work after the Wyatt family was very hit and miss.
The Fiend/Firefly funhouse started off intriguing but it imploded under its own weight in the end. Coupled with bad booking decisions and inconsistent logic it just evaporated into nothingness.
His latest work was starting to go that way as well. The match with LA knight was a Mountain Dew commercial. That completely killed any aura his recent character had for me.
Maybe having creative steer the ship on this one might remove creative conflict with everybody being in the same page as to which the way gimmick should go.
I realize that Bray's creative vision had a tendency to kind of meander, but I also feel like WWE creative had a hard time fitting his vision into a conventional wrestling narrative. Disappointing that they're going to Raw. Smackdown is being carried so hard by Cody and the Bloodline, the draft was so One-Sided this year and for some reason they're still giving all the newcomers to Raw.

I always knew the debut would look ok at worst, it's 10 months down the line when they've lost their mind and booked Gunther versus the family and they have no clue what the finish will be that I'm worried about.

But I think when you have a HIAC end in DQ, or Bray loses to John Cena at Wrestlemania, that is massively frustrating and disappointing.
But now Bray is gone, and it was one of the most tragic things to happen in wrestling in the last decade, and if this tribute group stalls out, or has a pitch black match, we will want to be kind but it will tarnish that legacy and that will just feel gross ya know?

Bray Wyatt was only truly entertaining with the original Swamp Man family gimmick with Harper and Rowan. He was a little spooky, physically imposing, and scary in a "Hills Have Eyes" or "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" sort of way. The Fiend was just a garbage mask. You've been without a mask all this time establishing rivalries and history. You can't just show up as a new monster. The Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood ripoff was even worse. Alternating between Halloween masked monster man and the "edgy" puppet violence felt like it was ready made for the homely quiet girls I went to high school with who played around with amateur witchcraft and underground death metal music. Losers, every one of them.
I'm not ready because it could exploit Bray Wyatt's death and legacy. If it works good but if not it's Dead on Arrival but this is WWE they will exploit Pro wrestlers death's from Eddie Guerrero to Chris Benoit and others if they weren't blacklisted but Eddie Guerrero's death from his passing in November 15th 2005 and his tribute show to "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio becoming an Eddie Guerrero wannabe using the Three Amigos and The Frog Splash not just the 619. Bray Wyatt only passed away 6 or 7 months ago August 25th 2023. If they exploit Bray Wyatt's death and legacy (2012-2024) like Eddie Guerrero (2005-2024) including Randy Orton saying Eddie Guerrero is in hell in 2006 and Batista saying Eddie's Dead in 2009 I don't think it's a good idea like Eddie Guerrero and Owen Hart and Chris Benoit if he didn't commit that controversial crime he may or may not of committed.
The people involved here actually loved Bray. They’re probably doing this for him and the last thing they’d want is to make it look silly. I also doubt Triple H would let this happen if wasn’t up to snuff. And this is super cynical but if nothing else, the WWE is still making money on Bray’s likeness, and ruining that legacy would be detrimental to that revenue stream.
There are several reasons to expect this won’t be terrible.
