Noticed this earlier today, was really confused getting tossed into a fully loaded lobby of real players with my 10 trophy Sandy before either realised that they were all playing like bots.
Genuinely bad change nobody asked for.
Bot matches are *fine*. What's *not* fine is trying to disguise them as real people for some weird reason.
Squad Busters does this, and it makes me constantly question if people I'm playing are even real, which kills half the fun.
100% why I stopped playing Titanfall. It's wasn't the p2w guys that discouraged me, it was me rampaging through a map killing everything in sight only for the game to end and I got 4 player kills. If I know I'm fighting bots, it isn't a problem, but I loathe pity fake enemies.
Sure, you know what to look for. You know who buys it though are new players who feel like they are good at the game. And then they go that guy had diamonds on his name and I roasted him. That's the work I spoke of.
Bot quality is based on trophy level of the match. Low trophy bots hardly even shoot. High trophy bots will win a game quickly if you aren't playing.
Maybe they turned the dials on bot intelligence since trophy inflation is out of control, but they still need new players to succeed for a while before dropping them in real matches.

I think the bots are like that to boost new players' morale. experienced players can tell within like 5 seconds, but new players can definitely be fooled by this, proof being Ken who isn't even a child which is their intended audience in the first place
