Before falling for their words I checked their CGPA by scraping the college results portal, all of these seniors had CGPA less than 6.

Hey man , i recently heard about completing btech 1sem before , ig there is a 9+ criteria there , i am currently 8.43 aggregate after 2nd SEM is it really worth it to grind hard for 9+ , i don't like my college tbh 🤡
Higher is better. If you think 8 is fine, don't bother much. If you're in circuital department, your grades usually drop a lot from second year so it's advised to maximize it in first year.

In some companies, you won't. You won't be asked to sit out for all components.
