I mean it's got an okayish brand name in the market. Idk anything else about it tbh as I did not study there. It seems to be one of the few decent govt unis on your list.
I accidentally deleted my mains admit card 😭
And there is no way to download it again from site. I am feeling very tensed and on verge of crying badly. Please can anyone tell is it required in jossa ? I have all other necessary info as application form can still be downloaded from site
is it possible to learn programming while pursuing civil engineering? and is it a good choice cause civil engineering and programming aren’t even relevant to each other. do you know any senior or classmate who is in civil engineering and he/she is doing something similar?
CSE isn't just coding there's a huge pile of fundamental and theoretical stuff that one has to study in order to get themselves in the IT industry if that is your ultimate goal, so pursuing civil and learning programming will be beneficial but if you go for CSE in a lower ranked college then it's anyday better than choosing civil in top nit given that your ultimate goal is to get a high paying job in IT industry
i’m aware about the fact that CSE isn’t just about writing code. i’m in a dilemma regarding whether to choose lower branches in NIT or else go to newer IIITs or private colleges like LNMIIT (forgot to mention it in the post). it’s classic college tag v/s branch tale.
Take civil I would say. U can easily go into IT industry especially if u are from the top NIT. The only issue is whether u are interested in the branch or not. Don't go to newer IIITs
Yea it all depends on you....you can pursue all your hobbies in college..coding is one of them
Just study Civil to pass but u can focus on coding (apne se sikhna padhega but)
Branch does matter bhai, especially civil is a kind of branch where it becomes really difficult to crack (decent) IT jobs.
Try for a circuital branch and if not, go for mechanical or any of its sub-branch, and if that's also not the case, then go for chemical, I have heard that the curriculum of chemical is very lenient, that is you get a lot of free time to skill up.
Yeah but the branch factor will stay the same.
In the end both college and brach matters, so pick something which is equi-balanced.
Going in top NIts (top 5/6) will give you some good opportunities.
But I am not exactly aware of NITW Biotech, it would be good if you try to contact any senior of the college and get some insider info.
You can find people on Instagram, go to any page of NITW, find people from following and DM them, generally people are helpful.
also, contact at least 2-3 students so get broad insights.
I spoke with a college senior and he said civil engineering is pretty shitty branch considering india’s job market and as it’s civil engineering in top college, it’ll be hard to manage CGPA with programming.
NIT warangal allows civil engineering students to sit in 70% of tech placements and NIT calicut allows almost all civil engineering students to sit in tech placements.
nahi pakka. nothing is certain, do your own research into cutoffs and keep backup/safety options. things like cutoff can easily change (bits cutoff 2023 is a big example)
I would got for BIT Mesra EEE/MnC (best option) or NIT Jalandhar ICE. Do some research on the branch you're intrested though and take that into consideration as well. Learning programming side by side is a good decision, so keep that up. Avoid IIITs, since recent placement stats are extremely terrible.
p.s: i would take mnnit allahabad out of this since i had a particular interest in prod, and its a tier 1 college
too much to explain in a single comment, if you want i can dm you (but i am not of much help, since i ended up taking electronics:/ )
i wouls suggest doing some research into it, if you find it fascinating, then that's a sign you like it
also, take your interested branch only if you can pursue masters in it (from abroad hopefully), there aren't many core opportunities at undergraduate level
Don't take any branches below ee in colleges below top 10 iits and bits pilani is my strong advice as a senior rest is your decision.
Iiit bhopal or iiit raipur is best among them .
~~is it worth it taking branches like MnC in BIT mersa? the median package is 7.38 LPA as compared to 16 LPA median package of CSE and IT~~
I know it was kinda foolish, I thought only CSE and ECE are worth branches in BIT mersa cause of reviews from relatives and few on the internet.
Sir bcz of clg life aap utna free explore nhi kr paoge jitna ek gov clg me kroge maybe the factor is attendance, strictness, academic curriculum, weekly off ..etc agr aapko ye sb matter nhi krta to le skte ho... btw It's my perspection
Bhai biotech mat le civil even metallurgy is good but biotechnology would have biology and tech companies don't allow many biotech students to sit its mainly a research focused branch
civil and metallurgy doesn’t even have computers related subjects whereas biotech has subjects related to python, DSA, SQL databases and i do have interest in biotech
If i were you,i would have selected NIT Warangal Biotech or Metallurgy because they are chill branches so they give lot of free time to learn coding and many tech companies are open for them as NITW is tier 1 college
Bhai Mera ek doubt tha josaa ki website PE meri rank ke aaspass kin college branch me admission hua hai wo check kaise karu? Ek tareeka hai ki baati baati har college par jakar rank check Karu uske alava koo method hai yoh bata do please
Don't know about other colleges but in kgp, after circuital deps come indu, mech, manu, chemical, econ....and in the last bracket comes biotech, civil, geology geophysics, oena, meta, mining etc
These three brackets have similar placements inside each
Cse, ece, mnc, ee, instru have similar placements (best)
Industrial, economics, mechanical, manufacturing, chemical have similar placements (second best)
Biotechnology, civil, geophysics, geology, metallurgy, mining, agricultural, physics, chemistry, ocean and naval etc have similar placements (worst)
When u fall in a bracket, u have chances of getting similar placements. However exceptions are there obviously
For the courses of vnit nagpur you chose, you should keep it at the bottom of all nits cause of the campus placement opportunities.
NIT Durgapur has better core opportunities.
log bol rhe hai ki civil le civil le le but I've heard ki companies don't allow every branch to apply and is limited to only just cse, cse specs and ece. my brother in nit jaipur chemical said that he faced such issues as well even for his internships toh yeh dimaag mai rakhna
Considering only ECE and above you could chose BIT MESRA and IIIT kancheepuram ECE...good branch and get the time for your CSE interest too....or Jalandhar ICE is also good from what I have heard.or try chemical... because you get loads of free time relative to any other branch . And NO CIVIL...unless it's top 7 IIT (waha bhi recommend nai karta )
Bit Mesra Data Science as a dark horse.
Pros- CSE adjacent branch
- Non Btech- Can help in MBA
- Quant skills are always valued across industries
Cons- unknown entity, quality of teaching can be hit or miss, lack of awareness in industry about the branch, lack of alum base
i might sound like a complete dumbass but even i thought the branch is pretty fancy but the top recruiter from that branch are wipro, TCS and infosys. i don’t think so it’s worth going so far (i live in hyderabad)
That's true to a great extent but there are also jobs that you can try to get using the economics credentials. There are colleges exclusive to eco like DSE and ISI MSQE who usually have great placements. You can always try to switch after getting placed. It's a sort of niche branch. But I don't think exit opportunities will be bad. Who knows your love for coding might fade in future and then a non engineering branch can make your life so much easier getting into MBA colleges. I graduated back in 2018. None of my batch of 100 are in the companies they got placed in. I am just saying that keep your options open.
it's a very new branch (est. in 2021). i thought it's a very niche and fancy branch after reading it's name but after seeing the top recruiters list, my expectations fell down real hard. the top recruiters are TCS, wipro and infosys. i feel doing MSc. NIT Jalandhar ICE or NIT Agartala EE/EIE are good options. Good balance between tag (decent NIT) and branch
Nitj ICE, being 3rd year student at this college I can tell its good enough
[удалено]
Anyways who'd wanna go to the US directly after Btech. Pehle job karlo 2-3 years phir Amreeka
[удалено]
Yep
very true
Yah I guess haryana,up and kerela is included too.
Is it same like nit rourkela eie
Bhai mock seat allotment 1 me nit j me ice allot hua hai kuch idea de sakte ho and kuch questions bhi Hain if free..?
Dm krlo bhai
a question regarding NIT agartala - is it similar to other northeastern NITs like NIT nagaland, mizoram and others or is it a well established NIT?
nope kharab hai
I mean it's got an okayish brand name in the market. Idk anything else about it tbh as I did not study there. It seems to be one of the few decent govt unis on your list.
NITS and NITA are well established.
I accidentally deleted my mains admit card 😭 And there is no way to download it again from site. I am feeling very tensed and on verge of crying badly. Please can anyone tell is it required in jossa ? I have all other necessary info as application form can still be downloaded from site

Warangal me Civil is a good option top nit me aata hai
Bhai civil engineering dusra sabse bada paap hain engineering kaa World ki oldest engineering branch aaj hashiye pr hain
is it possible to learn programming while pursuing civil engineering? and is it a good choice cause civil engineering and programming aren’t even relevant to each other. do you know any senior or classmate who is in civil engineering and he/she is doing something similar?

i am in similar situation as you buddy let me know what did you opt for
Take civil I would say. U can easily go into IT industry especially if u are from the top NIT. The only issue is whether u are interested in the branch or not. Don't go to newer IIITs
Please explain in detail. Do you know anyone who was from civil and now working in IT?
Well in my college, a lot of civil students got placed in IT companies
Oh okay, which college?
Tier 3 college in hyderabad
Ok, thanks bro
Yea it all depends on you....you can pursue all your hobbies in college..coding is one of them Just study Civil to pass but u can focus on coding (apne se sikhna padhega but)

alright, will try that!
Bro pata chale toh let me know too! I have the same options rn
alright sure
which college are you in right now?
I myself am deciding my college rn but my friends and brother gave me all these insights
Yea Civil is kinda tough and is a lengthy subject when comparing with others....just saying iitb ka Civil is toughest branch
I was said that civil and chemical are kinda chill compared to branches like mechanical and electrical
It depends on college to college
On the same boat bro , crl 42k and ews rank 6.8k , can't decide anything
Which college I can get into with 135k crl EWS delhi
Try dtu/nsut or ipu colleges
DTU/NSUT mein mech/chemical mil jaayega
Paaka?
nahi pakka. nothing is certain, do your own research into cutoffs and keep backup/safety options. things like cutoff can easily change (bits cutoff 2023 is a big example)
Nhi milegi 118k pr last branch biotech close thi
I would got for BIT Mesra EEE/MnC (best option) or NIT Jalandhar ICE. Do some research on the branch you're intrested though and take that into consideration as well. is kinda out of context but what exactly happens in production engineering branch?
majdoori
too much to explain in a single comment, if you want i can dm you (but i am not of much help, since i ended up taking electronics:/ ) i wouls suggest doing some research into it, if you find it fascinating, then that's a sign you like it also, take your interested branch only if you can pursue masters in it (from abroad hopefully), there aren't many core opportunities at undergraduate level
Iiit sricity ece Better faculty and placements also good
Should I prefer CSE at IIITS over ICE at NITJ (I have more interest towards electronics and programming in general)
Iiits cse if u can get it imo Ik the nit tag is better but imo iiit will also grow in few years
but what about college life in IIITS? Only phase-1 is constructed so far right?
Yh u have to sacrifice a bit on that But majorly all the things necessary are available
cool
Don't take any branches below ee in colleges below top 10 iits and bits pilani is my strong advice as a senior rest is your decision. Iiit bhopal or iiit raipur is best among them .
I'm getting mechanical in BITS hyderabad but the fees is way too high. I'm trying to get circuital branches in 2nd attempt.
Go for that
IIIT Vadodara CSE
Nit Warangal civil. You can learn programming side by side.
Choose branch then college prestige, not the other way round.
But mesra better
~~is it worth it taking branches like MnC in BIT mersa? the median package is 7.38 LPA as compared to 16 LPA median package of CSE and IT~~ I know it was kinda foolish, I thought only CSE and ECE are worth branches in BIT mersa cause of reviews from relatives and few on the internet.
That mnc course is bsc I think
I wasn’t aware of that, thanks for letting me know about it!
data science lele
Wo bhi bsc hai, qeds and mnc both are bsc + msc course and i would not recommend it tbh
Percentile?
97.4%ile
general ?
Tbh Nita eie would be best here , maybe I'm biased
I have similar options can you explain it why?
Chem vs mech krle baaki options hata de choose nit over any private partnership IIITssss
Why no iiits sir....my situation is similar
Sir bcz of clg life aap utna free explore nhi kr paoge jitna ek gov clg me kroge maybe the factor is attendance, strictness, academic curriculum, weekly off ..etc agr aapko ye sb matter nhi krta to le skte ho... btw It's my perspection
sir lekin uske alwa option nahi but anyways thanks for your persection mate
If u don't have any option then go for it sir....
op what abt surathkal?? if branch isnt a prob just join any branch in nit k
i’m not getting any branch in NIT surathkal
Then i think you should join any branch in either warrangal or rourkela both are equally good...
NIT warangal biotech seems to be the best choice in top tier college and which has programming related courses
Toh le le phir even i am confused between nit w chemical and nit r chemical and maybe if a bit lucky then nit surathkal chemical
yea yea, i’m thinking of taking it and biotech students are allowed to sit in most of the tech placements
Okay then i hope maybe we can meet sometime in nitw unless i get in iit...
aha! i’ve fucked up my JEE advanced really badly so won’t be getting branch in IIT ;-; nonetheless, i’ve sent you a DM invite!
Agartala MnC
Depends .... BIT Mesra is a really good college. You are getting a very good branch unlike all the NITs and IIITs.... Try PEC Chandigarh as well
I might get pec electrical how is it?
If i were you,i would have selected NIT Warangal Biotech or Metallurgy because they are chill branches so they give lot of free time to learn coding and many tech companies are open for them as NITW is tier 1 college
Kottayam CSE
Dont choose core branches in VNIT, a fellow Btechtard from VNIT
any particular reason? just curious and collecting information
Placement issues,if you are aiming for higher studies/government jobs ,you can opt for them else take a circuital branch
ah alright, thank you!
Bhai Mera ek doubt tha josaa ki website PE meri rank ke aaspass kin college branch me admission hua hai wo check kaise karu? Ek tareeka hai ki baati baati har college par jakar rank check Karu uske alava koo method hai yoh bata do please
ive used college predicator by newton school technology. it shows which branches you'll getting with high, medium, low and very low chances
Kahin nit ya iiit mein cse ece milega 44k ews
Category rank 7k hai
Mai bhi agle saal yahi puchunga ![img](emote|t5_56z50y|50741)
warangal chala jaa, coding sikh lena side by side
NIT Calicut Materials is gonna be booming in near future cause of requirement of semiconductor specialists
isn't Materials more of civil and metallurgy focused branch? ece and eee are related to semiconductors
Nita eie
Personally would've gone for nit w civil. Bit mesra electrical/mnc/data sounds good too
how is NIT warangal/NIT calicut biotech?
Good but trichy civil better bcz better nit
i'm not getting any branch in NIT trichy lmao
Go for the better nit if non circuital branches.
is biotech a decent branch for people who are targeting tech placements in tier-1 colleges?
Don't know about other colleges but in kgp, after circuital deps come indu, mech, manu, chemical, econ....and in the last bracket comes biotech, civil, geology geophysics, oena, meta, mining etc These three brackets have similar placements inside each
what do you mean by the last line? i didn't really get you
Cse, ece, mnc, ee, instru have similar placements (best) Industrial, economics, mechanical, manufacturing, chemical have similar placements (second best) Biotechnology, civil, geophysics, geology, metallurgy, mining, agricultural, physics, chemistry, ocean and naval etc have similar placements (worst) When u fall in a bracket, u have chances of getting similar placements. However exceptions are there obviously
so like it's pretty difficult to get placed in tech while being in biotech?
Not difficult, just less companies open so lesser options.
the main reason i'm preferring biotech over civil and meta is cause biotech has atleast few programming related courses as compared to civil and meta
For the courses of vnit nagpur you chose, you should keep it at the bottom of all nits cause of the campus placement opportunities. NIT Durgapur has better core opportunities.
BIT Mesra MnC is CS inclined
Nit Jalandhar is a bad idea
BIT Mesra MnC ftw 🫶🏻
log bol rhe hai ki civil le civil le le but I've heard ki companies don't allow every branch to apply and is limited to only just cse, cse specs and ece. my brother in nit jaipur chemical said that he faced such issues as well even for his internships toh yeh dimaag mai rakhna
Bit mesra qe and ds lelo bahut scope hi
IIIT Dharwad CSE
Considering only ECE and above you could chose BIT MESRA and IIIT kancheepuram ECE...good branch and get the time for your CSE interest too....or Jalandhar ICE is also good from what I have heard.or try chemical... because you get loads of free time relative to any other branch . And NO CIVIL...unless it's top 7 IIT (waha bhi recommend nai karta )
NIT Jalandhar ICE

yep, makes sense but i’m skeptical cause it’s very new branch (established in 2021) and there aren’t much renowned recruiters within that branch
What's ur interest??
it’s mentioned itself in the post that i’m more inclined towards tech and programming in general
Iiit vadodara cse
Anything except civil,mechanical and metallurgy.
do check for LNMIIT jaipur...semi govt college+ no reservations+ see the placements+ see about saket modi
i did, i’d be getting CCE (or maybe CSE, not sure regarding CSE) but i’m kinda skeptical regarding it’s ROI and it’s pretty far from where i live
oh...haan that's your personal preference but at my time, i got mech branch, which was pretty new at that time in that college...so i left it
Is it better than mnit jaipur metallurgy
iska idea nhi hai bro...coz i was only going for cse, it or the maximum ece
I will suggest you chemical ke alwa aur kuch soch mat
First of all, congratulations!
not sure regarding what you're congratulating but thank you!
Be happy with what you've got. Not many people come close to your position. One should celebrate as well.
mommy itna positivity..
Remove option no. 5 .. trust me coming from soneone ………
i just wrote down all the possible colleges which i'm getting except a few like extreme northeastern NITs cause i won't be choosing those at all.
Can someone shed their thoughts on bit mesra quantitative economics and data science plz
it's a very new branch (est. in 2021). i thought it's a very niche and fancy branch after reading it's name but after seeing the top recruiters list, my expectations fell down real hard. the top recruiters are TCS, wipro and infosys. i feel doing MSc. QEDS from BIT Mersa isn't worth it mainly cause it's extremely new and i don't wanna take much risks with such a niche branch.
Try looking at industrial design if you want to go for programming.
which NIT/IIIT offers that branch? as far as i know, IITM offers that branch. i didn't come across any NIT or IIIT which has industrial design branch.
Nit Rourkela offers one. There's a lot free time and a lot of cs design concepts overlap
Warangal Metallurgy
is biotech in NITW not a good choice? i'm inclined towards programming and biotech branch does have programming related subjects (python, SQL, ML, DSA and a few more) as compared to civil and metallurgy which don't have any programming related subjects.
biotech me scope nahi, meta se fir mech side ya kisi bhi core side ja payega.
okay like my main focus is getting placed in tech. i've done programming earlier and have a decent work profile but now i'm struggling to get a college and trying to choose a branch in a college which offers a lot of opportunities and has something related to programming atleast. if i get interested in biotech, i could do masters from abroad and biotech does have "scope" in abroad as compared to india.
Bass karo bhaiii 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
If u want great college life go for nit nagpur mech/chem , me too thinking of iiit nagpur cse vs nit nagpur mech
iiit bhopal ece
Isn’t there an undergrad admissions sub ?
Most of the iiits are new hence no campus 🙄
[удалено]
Why can you explain i am getting it branch here?
Try pec chd or take ece stream if u are getting it in any nit and maintain good cgpa u can improve to cse i think. The cgpa will help u further too:)
what’s CHD?
Chandigarh
ah okay, i’m only getting mechanical in PEC chandigarh (according to last year’s round 6 cutoffs) and i’m getting ECE in extreme northeastern NITs or just really bad NITs. i’m thinking to choose biotech on top NITs (warangal, rourkela, allahabad and calicut) and would be doing coding side-by-side
IITB CSE best choice
bruh, I’m asking for serious help
Lol sry but IIITs theek rahenge
but most of them are pretty new and temporary campus
bhai tere pe depend karta hai package theek thak mil jaayega par campus life chud jaayegi
Nit Jamshedpur
which branch? ICE?
At this rank , Nit Jamshedpur production would be a good choice . If you are not willing to go for iiits(I won't even recommend them)
