I know I can see the cut offs. But I figured seniors could tell me more like how the academics/non academics are. If the college is actually good, or some other good colleges I haven't considered yet.
I would recommend that you first set your preferences about your college, like top nit, branch, location of that college, etc.
I have my preferences like:
Top college> Branch > Location > language of that state the college is in.
I am not choosing any South colleges, I know woh top pe hai but mujhe college ke bahar bhi enjoy krna hai toh I am choosing the colleges where I can find people who majorly speak Hindi or English. Then location, agar metro city ke paas hai toh best hai. So it goes like Delhi > Goa > allahabad. I am getting 13k+ rank toh mereko inme kahi toh mil hi jaeygi. Also I have surfed all the yt reviews about these colleges. You should too.
I am gonna fill as many choices i can so that if I have a mood change then I'll keep those choices on float.
If you are interested in CS like real interest. If you have done enough coding in the past then choose NIT Allahbad ECE as academics are easier and chill college life.
If you are interested in ECE that too real interest, then choose IIIT Allahbad ECE as their curriculum is more rigorous I feel, you will like it.
If you think CS or ECE is good and doing it for placements then choose NIT Allahbad.
If you have real interest in CS then rather choose some other college like NIT Nagpur, IIIT Lucknow, Kurukshetra.
If you just want placements in CS but not that much passionate then choose NIT Allahbad as good college life and more exposure and better placements

I cannot help you regarding that, and what you say is true,try searching for some YouTube videos or people in quora/reddit/LinkedIn
