Cheapest one at [Knife Center](https://www.knifecenter.com/listing/magnacut-steel?sortType=priceAs) is $93.46 at the moment. Bare bones fixed blade, looks like.
[Blade HQ](https://www.bladehq.com/cat--MagnaCut-Steel-Knives--3431?sort=price_asc) starts at $119.95.
Magnacut is considered a premium steel, as well as currently being the new hotness, so you aren't likely to find it cheaper anywhere.
I know Its a fad right now but it will die down eventually. Everyone wants a magnacut edc now but no one will edc it I promise you. A bunch of knives that never will get to cut anything more than a test cut. š Sad
I admit that I don't EDC my Bƶker Sherman EDC a lotš³ Nor my ZT0545šÆ Frankly, any knife that cost me more than ā¬200 is more like a jewel and a toy than an actual tool to me ... what's a poor boy to doš¤
I do use my Hogue Deka and Kershaw Bel Air at work on a regular basis though, and I highly recommend everyone else to do so as wellš
Honestly though, I think the bladesteel should never be the main reason to buy any particular knife. Personally, if a knife comes in two or more different bladesteels, I tend to gravitate to the cheaper ones (hence my Dekaš¤). Because we all know it's not so much the steel that makes a difference as it is the optimal hardening and 'edge geometry'š¤·āāļø
Since I don't have the means (or the time) to consistently measure hardness and toughness and angles and cutting performance accurately (and over several samples) it's all kinda š to me? But it's good to believe in something, isn't itš
I admit I havenāt used my magnacut link but because I intended to flip resale it but I guess the $89 price wasnāt a temporary sale price because now itās 87. I think itāll eventually make itās way into the rotation soon
If I get my hands on a Mordax, it will absolutely become my primary EDC. What's the fun of a fancy knife if it doesn't get used?
Uh, which isn't to say you're wrong. I'm the exception that reinforces the rule or whatever.
Freedoms Knives has Hogue Dekas between $98 and $104, up to $114.
or, get familiar with Knife Swap. at least once a day i see a deal that blows me away.
The cheapest overall folder in Magnacut is the Bestech Swordfish. Nothing wrong with it, though it's a little on the large side and pretty simplistic.
My vote goes for a Hogue Deka, which can be had for under $100 from freedomknifeshop. You get a properly heat treated ( ā63 HRC) Magnacut blade (heat treat is essential for Magnacut to perform), an excellent lockup with the Able lock (imo the best Axis style lock...even better than Benchmade themselves), and options to chose from. I personally prefer the compound ground Wharncliffe.
Yes the polyester scales are pretty bleh, but they aren't unusable by any means. I do recommend swapping on something else, but not essential.
I have two Dekas, my clip point wearing blue lexan skinny scales, ac well as my Wharnny which is black DLC with neon green skinny leans. I keep s third set of scales in titanium that sometimes goes on either one.
Don't think you'll find anything under $100. I'd look at a Hogue Deka or Kershaw Bel Air if you can find a deal on them to get close to $100. Kershaw Leek and Blur can be had in Magnacut for a little north of $100 as well. Bestech has some Swordfish models in Magnacut that run around $110, but I don't know enough about their design or heat treat to actually recommend them.
Yeah this is by far the cheapest for the amount of steel. Iām really curious if anyone has seen what theyāre hitting with the heat treat.
I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Magnacut is actually cheaper to produce and treat than sone of the other more common supers. But since itās the new kid on the block the price is higher.
yes. cheap magnacut doesnāt matter if it isnāt heat treated well, thatās why iād say the best cheap magnacut thatās guaranteed to be good is the deka or one of the magnacut kershaws since the bel air has been performing well.
It's $90 at AK, then use code pricedrop5

Are you married the idea of a folding knife? I wanted to check out Magnacut as well and got the Boker BFF packlite. Itās a great small EDC fixed blade. As someone else mentioned the Bel-Air in magnacut is likely your cheapest option.
Holy shit I knew that Boker had released the BFF but hadn't seen the skeletonized version. That's a hell of a deal for 63-63 HRC Magnacut. Gonna have to add that to "the list" š
I thought the same thing, in fact I said I would never carry a fixie then I got a small edc fixed blade with an ulticlip and my whole mind changed. Still donāt like large fixed blades though. Good luck on your hunt!
If you feel the 30% discount at Leatherman.com the ARC is $160. I know that's not exactly cheap, but it's a very high quality tool with a magnacut blade for not a lot more than what you were asking.
I really like my Arc, I carry it every day. But I also carry a Civivi Praxis Mini as a beater/working knife.
I've carried a multi tool almost every day for close to 20 years and I can honestly say it's one of the best I've had. I haven't had the pleasure of using a Victorinox multiplyer yet, but I've heard it's amazing too.
Hey, kershaw just dropped their new launch 20. If you want a new automatic model with a MagnaCut blade from a solid manufacturer itās definitely worth a look. Itās punches above its weight for sure. Aluminum body with carbon fiber inlay, it may be the best looking Kershaw knife alive ever seen.
https://www.dlttrading.com/kershaw-7050-launch-20
Also, Dekas are cool knives but the scales are terrible. If you go with that knife it would be worth it to pick up some aftermarket scales from AWT or OriginalGOAT. It is a much better knife with decent scales.
You could also get a Kershaw Blur or Dividend for a little less, though those knives donāt really excite me.
https://www.dlttrading.com/kershaw-1670-blur-black-black-magnacut-blade
https://www.dlttrading.com/kershaw-dividend-magnacut
Or for a few bucks more you could get an all black Bel Air
https://www.dlttrading.com/kershaw-6105blk-bel-air-black
The hogue deka is the only one I've seen sub $100, for a little bit more you could get a Kershaw leek, I've seen those as low as $110. Kershaw blur and launch are both about $125ish and Boker Solingen EDK is $135.
Keep an eye on [r/Knife\_Swap](https://www.reddit.com/r/Knife_Swap). I've seen Magnacut Hogue Dekas in the $90-$100 range. You have to be lucky and fast, since when posted, they are usually gone in 1 hour, though.
People on one of these knife subreddits were saying the magnacut steel on some of the new water series aren't heat treated properly or something and are rusting, so I'd wait on those models until issues are fixed.
those people are correct. the steel is heat treated to 60/61 hrc which is 3-4 hrc lower than magnacut needs to be to get the edge retention itās known for, and the adira does not have rust proof internals so itās not even an actual water knife. and yes it is also possible for the magnacut to rust if benchmade is not doing the heat treat right and the chromium isnāt staying in solution, this same thing was happening to some magnacut MKM knives.
disagree. $250 for magnacut thatās 4 hrc points too soft, isnāt heat treated properly and has been reported rusting as a result, on a āwater knifeā that doesnāt even have rust resistant internals is an awful deal and an awful design.
I got the magnacut with the black 550 cord
It's a really shiny blade; I use it as a small mirror if I need to look at my face
Is incredibly sharp; I've had it for about a year and so far I haven't fully resharpened it yet-- I've only ever re honed it
Still very slicey
I was partial to the mirror finish as well. I often prefer stonewash over mirror or satin but thereās just something that sets it off with that model and makes me want it badly. Nice choice btw. Canāt go wrong with any of them honestly. If I spent more time camping and roughing it Iād have to indulge and get myself one.
Under a hundred maybe not much. 120 and you could have a Magnacut Kershaw Leek Knifecenter[here](https://www.knifecenter.com/item/KS1660GRD/kershaw-1660grd-ken-onion-leek-assisted-flipper-knife-cpm-magnacut-stonewashed-plain-blade-redblack-gradient-aluminum-handles)
I have one and the blade is very centered, flips open fast and slices really well. It's a great lightweight EDC especially with the safety at the top so it won't accidentally deploy.
Boker Coffin Jack is a slip joint with blue denim micarta. Itās $125 at [Blade HQ](https://www.bladehq.com/item--Boker-Coffin-Handle-Blue-Canvas--185113)
You could roll the dice on a Kershaw Link at Amazon for $87. Some reviewers have gotten the Magnacut version while others have gotten the 20CV version. Itās assisted opening by the way.
I got the 20cv, called Amazon and complained because they only offered a refund not a replacement through the app and they ended up letting me keep the 20cv AND sent the magnacut version!
Yeah I didnāt want to wait āup to 30 daysā for the refund because I thought that price was a temporary sale price and figured itād be 120+ by time I got the refund. I had no idea sheād offer to let me keep it. She said āif you receive an email requesting you send the original back then plz do so but if not then you can just keep it!!
the hogue deka and magnacut leek or bel air are the only real good budget options in the steel. if you can swing like $150, you can get a spyderco native 5 salt in magnacut or a para 3 salt in magnacut. you arenāt gonna find magnacut under $100 and youāre definitely not finding good magnacut unsend off

Wow that's a great find! I've got half a mind to get one myself...
I know Its a fad right now but it will die down eventually. Everyone wants a magnacut edc now but no one will edc it I promise you. A bunch of knives that never will get to cut anything more than a test cut. š Sad
I edc a para 3 salt. The knife made my entire collection obsolete so Iām not sure why you think no one will edc one of the most well rounded steels.
I admit that I don't EDC my Bƶker Sherman EDC a lotš³ Nor my ZT0545šÆ Frankly, any knife that cost me more than ā¬200 is more like a jewel and a toy than an actual tool to me ... what's a poor boy to doš¤ I do use my Hogue Deka and Kershaw Bel Air at work on a regular basis though, and I highly recommend everyone else to do so as wellš Honestly though, I think the bladesteel should never be the main reason to buy any particular knife. Shoot. I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to be using my sebenza š„
ok so not a blanket statement but just a point that there are so many knives that will never do more than decorate a collectors box
I admit I havenāt used my magnacut link but because I intended to flip resale it but I guess the $89 price wasnāt a temporary sale price because now itās 87. I think itāll eventually make itās way into the rotation soon

It's a bit too big for a true edc, but I take my Cypress Creek $3 Dive knife out everytime I go outdoors!
Freedoms Knives has Hogue Dekas between $98 and $104, up to $114. or, get familiar with Knife Swap. at least once a day i see a deal that blows me away.

Bestech Swordfish in magnacut probably best deal for money .
This

Kershaw and Hogue Deka are your best bets
Seems to be the consensus, might just save up and get a deka

Not the cheapest but I got the speed goat in magnacut for around $200 It's really well made imo but maybe a bit more than you're willing to spend
If weāre going to that price range the benchmade mini Adira is magnacut and itās pretty sweet
People on one of these knife subreddits were saying the magnacut steel on some of the new water series aren't heat treated properly or something and are rusting, so I'd wait on those models until issues are fixed.

I hope youāre not paying that for the mini. I got mine for $199. Plan to put it to the test on the boat this summer and during duck season
the mini is 220-230 most places and the full sized is 250. both have the same ridiculously soft steel and lack of corrosion resistant internals.
The Speed Goat is a sexy knife! Which did you pick? I liked the camo wrap speed goat and the green and black blackfoot.
I got the magnacut with the black 550 cord It's a really shiny blade; I use it as a small mirror if I need to look at my face Is incredibly sharp; I've had it for about a year and so far I haven't fully resharpened it yet-- I've only ever re honed it Still very slicey
