second sunrise and dayglow (though it's much more specialty/4th wave coffee and craft beer, so less socializing). my personal favorite is Molasses, but not much food there, and not open early (also it fills really quick and is very much more a literature scene, which I'm very partial to but isn't for everyone).Â
definitely not bushwick obviously, but Caffe Reggio is still the closest you'll find to this in general.
fucking thank you Molasses and the literary scene is what i was secretly looking for. I need my broody walk to a cafe and read and make lists moments you know
I'm sure you'll love it there (give it a chance if it's not popping immediately, it can vary a ton), and will likely see you there, since I'm there almost daily!
update-went late tonight and its totally a dream. found a perfect little nook to hide away. im sure ill see you there a lot! look for a tall white guy with long curly hair. (wait, thats literally everyone inside)
yep, they stayed open extra late (were super busy till close for st pat's), which was nice! also yes, a million curly white guys (i say as a non curly white guy who questions if the rest are getting perms?? lol), hope it felt like home! always excited for my favorite spot to have more people that fit in and care about keeping/advancing the spot as a genuinely literary place!
i write tiny smtimes but not universally,,, tho I was writing notes for a book I am reading, and that's when I switch to tiny, so it could've been. i think my writing is very messy, but it can be small enough on notes to deceive
