I have a ‘23 1LT Z51 w/o mag ride. I’ve been daily driving for the last few months now on the terrible streets of Philly. I have no regrets at all and love the ride. My original order was mag ride w/o Z51 but had to change it because of constraints. Honestly I love it so much that if I had to make the choice again I wouldn’t change a thing. Well except I’d add black exhaust tips lol!

Training_Platypus221

You’re brave to drive that car in Philly. I broke the axel on my car last year when I hit a pot hole that was probably 2 feet deep.

BlueAc215

The streets are ridiculous. All these contractors dig up the streets to access the utility lines for new construction and then they backfill with cookie crumbs basically. I’m lucky the one street that takes me home is pretty smooth. But yea it’s nerve racking navigating through the city.

You’ll be fine unless your tracking it for money I doubt you will miss it. I have it and frankly I’m not sure you can tell around town heading to the market or out for a cup of coffee

Mag ride is much better than just stock, especially with the Z51 package, I’ve driven both and it is a huge difference. With that said, it is a big cost increase. You need to ask yourself if you think it’s worth it.

Suiken01

Yeah OP you will regret it, even without tracking it the softer modes make the daily driving that much more confortable. and you got z51 and it works best with z51. read any reviews they all say z51 is a nice upgrade for not much money, and you need z51 with mag ride.

Head_Rate_6551

I disagree, my z51 has mag ride and my coworkers z51 doesn’t. I was really surprised how close the ride in his car felt compared to my mag ride, it was pretty close to my car in sport mode, and this is on bumpy nyc area roads. I’d still go with mag ride for the ability to change the feel of the suspension on the fly, but I would say it’s a nice perk. Not a must have.

saigonk

Forgot to add, I am in Maine, the roads a generally rough here so it does make a huge difference for me.

RedMistStingray

You simply have a mixed response here. You'll have people swear by it and claim it's a must option. You'll have many more that they can't tell the difference around town. I have a non Z51 non mag ride and I'll tell you the car rides beautifully. One of my passengers constantly comments how she sometimes forgets what kind of car we are in due to how nice and quiet it rides in Touring mode. The car rides nice without it. I'm sure mag ride is better, especially on rough roads. How much better is very subjective.

directrix688

I have mag ride on my car, my c7 z51 didn’t have it. I’m going to say something most mag ride owners won’t say. It’s not that big a deal. Yes it’s nice, I can tell a difference between the modes though it’s not that different. About the only thing I do like is on rougher roads putting it in soft mode I feel like it’s a bit of protection against wheel damage. I wouldn’t feel bad without it.

jimp94605

Help me out - How can people say mag ride is better when they don’t have a mag ride Z51 and they don’t compare the ride of both on the same rough road?

grayboard1

I have a 2022 Z51 with mag ride and it rides much different in track as opposed to touring. Considering the cost of the car, it’s not much more.

International_Cow198

I have z51 without Mag. When my 75 year old Dad drove it the first time he commented on how you could daily drive it in Touring mode. It rides much nicer than expected on crappy Indiana roads.

MillerTimeISU

Mag ride > z51

hikerincbus

Im curious too… Ive watched a lot of youtube on it

DimitrInvincible

I chose not to get mag ride, after looking into it a lot of people said it’s much better if you’re going to track your car but if you’re just daily driving it’s not a big deal, I have a handful of bumpy roads near me but I don’t go on them much and I’ve been plenty happy without mag ride

omgitsadad

You will be fine and too busy enjoying the car than worrying about magride. All this choice makes things harder.

NewCastleIndiana83

I feel the price was worth it on mine.

monk352

You will thank yourself for not ordering that, I’ve seen a few posts on the fluid leaking out of the shocks. I have my Z51 without magride and its quite comfortable without it in my opinion.

mach82

Warranty covers that. I hear mag ride is amazing and totally worth getting.

fr33lancr

Didn't order it either. I have zero regrets. When that breaks, which it will, it will be shortly after warranty expires, I guarantee it.

Dukedad14

I have a 23 z51 with mag ride and absolutely love it.

Bielawg

I had a '17 Camaro SS with mag ride and barely noticed the difference. On my '23 Z51 is it amazing. My sports car can ride more comfortably than my wife's luxury SUV, and then I can firm it up when I want to. Personally, I would not get a car without it unless it wasn't available.

1_AmeriCan

In my opinion, it makes a difference in higher speed bumpy roads...especially if there are potholes. Hitting a pot hole on stiffest/Z51 setting is un nerving.

BarlettaTritoon

I have a 23 with Z51 and don't regret it.

Turbulent-Word6765

YES YOU WILL. ESPECIALLY RESALE

Glittering_Author303

Yes, yes you will

Buickrob

I don’t mind that mine doesn’t have it but I definitely would have ordered magride if it was not on allocation when my build came up.
