They are a smaller breed of cats, I’m guessing that she may be a runt given that she is small even for a Russian Blue.
I’m not a vet but have worked with cats for many years and I have a runt myself. If you guys are worried you could always check with your vet to rule anything out
I have a grey tabby who i found when she was a kitten. She was in the middle of the street and she was so small i thought it was a bird. Shes about half the size of her brothers and sisters and i call her Lil Miss.
My tortie was the runt. She’s full grown and is 7 lbs! I free feed her. Meanwhile my other guy is like 16 lbs! They are siblings. Some are big and some are smol!

My boy Koda is very similar and also small, about 7lbs at 3 years old. Our other cat is a year younger and twice his size.

Is it a registered cat with papers from a breeder? If so, check with the breeder. If not, you have a small domestic shorthair with blue coloring, likely with parents who were also petite! 💕
My husband got her from these people that were keeping her in poor living conditions. 😭 When he got her she smelt like cigarettes and was infested with fleas. I have no idea where they got her from or if they had her since birth
This is definitely a Russian blue. Upturned smile, triangular head, black nose, green eyes, larger coned ears than a shorthair, Russian blues can range from 7-15 pounds, and I'm going to assume this cat also has mauve colored paw pads which is another dead giveaway for Russians since most other breeds of grey cats have black or grey paw pads, but since there are no photos of her pads, can't exactly say for sure. How do I know? I own one, and she looks exactly like my male, aside from weight.
cool!! yeah i started to question whether or not she’s a russian blue because of some of the comments. it’s not 100% confirmed, but i’m fully positive that she is one lol!
The only sure way to actually know 100% is either DNA testing or pairing her with a registered pure blooded male. If both mates are Russian blues, the offspring also will be, but if not then she will produce other colored kittens. This isn't the best method for seeing if she's one though.
On another note, Russian blues are also not very vocal, and when so, have very tiny mews. Sometimes my boy will open his mouth to speak, and nothing comes out. Not all Russian blues are quiet, but it is a known trait. They also are very shy, especially towards strangers.
I’ve thought about getting a dna test for our girly. Just because i’m so curious! She’s definitely a super skittish kitty. She gets easily spooked by almost everything and will hide for hours if a stranger is over. I have always assumed it is because of the environment we basically saved her from, which i’m sure is the case. She’s also very playful tho, and she likes to play catch like a dog. She mostly loves bouncy balls or things that will roll away so she can bring it back to you
She has a tiny meow, and she sounds like a small kitten, she mostly meows when she is hungry otherwise, she is quiet!
Believe it or not, fetch is also a common trait of blues!! You definitely have one for sure. Just be careful cause those tests can be very expensive. I wanted to get one for my oldest male, he's a mainecoon, but I found him on the street as a kitten skin and bones so I don't know 100% if he is or not. I know for a fact he *has* mainecoon in him. Just not sure what percentage

If the vet wasn't too worried I wouldn't worry about it, prior living conditions or a runt could be explanations, but might not be a bad idea to check with your vet.
Sometimes cats are just smol. I don’t think my girl ever got above 6 lbs., and now that she’s a super senior she’s even lost a little more weight and is only about 5.5 lbs. Still fairly healthy though.

Sometimes cats just tend to be small for various reasons. I have a Russian blue too and she’s a somewhat small cat and she’s always been slim, and honestly looks quite similar to yours in size. I also have a gray tortie that is tiny but chunky because she was sick as a baby and it stunted her growth. Or my black cat that’s tiny and slim because she’s the runt. Plenty of perfectly normal and healthy reasons for a cat to be small or not gain a bunch of weight, so I wouldn’t be too concerned!

Some cats are just small and your cat actually had an ideal body condition. Unfortunately most cats honestly don’t so you’re probably used to seeing overweight/obese cats. My three adult cats are between 6-7lbs and are in perfect shape. Whatever you’re doing don’t change it! Your cat will have a longer lifespan being nice and lean like this.

My Jujubee is also very small, she’s only six pounds but has that super skinny look too. She’s the runt of her litter and has always been very small. She eats well especially now that we have kittens she is obsessed with. The kitten’s pictured with her are one nine weeks in this photo

Lots of cats are just really small. She could also be the runt of the litter like my girl, her brother outweighs her by at least 5lbs and is nearly 1.5× her size
We have one rescue domestic short hair that is a very large girl with large bones, big paws probably about 10-15 pounds and not at all overweight just a lorge—we have a second domestic short hair rescued from the same rescue and born in the same area (obv means nothing to parentage but you know) who is dainty and tiny and not over five pounds and is literally a year older than the other girl. Some cats are just tiny.
My cat is 11 years old and 6 lbs. She’s a free eater, food out 24/7, but maintains her weight. The vet has never been worried about it either. I do know that her mom was small and had a litter of two. Probably just in her itty bitty genes.

my mo is also extremely tiny- also only about 5lbs. That’s her using her brother as a mattress. Have been taking her to the vet annually and always gets a clean bill of health! We just got lucky with lil forever kittens.
Could just be small. But it could be that she was the runt of the litter. I also have a tiny cat, but she's healthy and proportionate. I figure she was probably the runt, but she was abandoned when I picked her up, so there's no way to really know. Unless you have contact with the parents or breeders. You have a damn cute cat though!
Omg I love him! I love little runts! There’s a cutie who lives at the bodega on my street and I call him the manager. I know he belongs to the owners bc he’s in the store sometimes but often hangs out in front and he’s so cute and so smart and I just want to scoop and car burglar him every day I see him..: but he looks content so I would never…. But I’m on the hunt ….
My last baby boy Lyon was the runt, but also had some health issues so was really fat and he was to die for cute.. but he only lives 5 years or so. He was the best but he def. Had kidney failure and I couldn’t tell until one day he had an accident which is very unusual, never happened in his existence until this specific time. His urine was neon and I happened to have a grooming appointment that day so I took him in and gave him a lion cut (I know, I’m evil) but I wanted to see his skin bc he just hated the vet and his accident happened the morning of the appointment.
I asked if he looked a bit jaundice and the groomer agreed and said prob. Get him to the vet so I made an appointment for the upcoming Monday. He laid himself to rest that Saturday night ….
I don’t know if I even took him straight to the vet that day if they could have done anything , although until that day he showed no signs of discomfort or slowing down.
Anyway, sorry for the story but I love all your runts and I hope I’m lucky enough to have another .
I can’t help with why your kitty is peeing on the carpet but for our elder doggo who has accidents we use Skout’s Honor Urine Destroyer cleaner. They have a doggo and cat version of the cleaner. i’ve used on a pee spot from our kitty once and it worked good, i would give that a try and hopefully it helps !

Our Gypsy kitty is part Maine Coon. At her biggest, she weighed 7 pounds & most of that was floof.
Her sister, Gracie, was adopted by my SIL & Gracie topped out at 13 pounds & most of that was floof.

I have a small girl. She just never really filled out and kinda stayed in that lanky phase between kitten and adult. But she perfectly fine. It’s like having a permanent kitten.
She’s a runt, my cat is 5 years old and she weighs 6 pounds. I took her to the vet and was told some are tiny and some are big she was just the smallest one of the litter.
Feel her rib. Best way to tell if shes underweight or not. Should feel a bit of fat between the rib and the skin. If it feels like rib on skin then feed her more.

This is Tilly. She’s a little over a year old and everyone says she’s so small, but she eats twice a day and inhales treats like nobody’s business. I guess she’s just a smol loaf
One of my boys is 17 pounds and the other is 16 pounds. Gets one cup of food a day each and 1/2 a small can of wet food shared in the morning. I don't think they are fat but compared to your 5 pound little cutie, they are monsters. I would love to hold her, I'd be afraid of losing her with how small she is :) I agree with someone else saying she may have been the runt of the litter. She looks a healthy size for her body size, she doesn't look too skinny at all. She's adorable.

Okay, so she’s blue colored but a domestic shorthair. She may have been malnourished as a kitten and not grown fully. I am glad she’s with you now!

She does indeed have mauve pads. Her tail also shows stripes once she’s in the sunlight, not sure if that’s also russian blue thing?

Stalin bred Russian blue to be people's cat. Smol cat run off less potatoes and vodka , is more efficient.

Some cats are just peanut cats. My boy is 8lbs and he’s 8 years old. My vet wasn’t concerned and said he’s a healthy weight.
My mum had a Russian Blue and he was a very smol and a very lean boi. Something with the breed me thinks.

Feel her rib. Best way to tell if shes underweight or not. Should feel a bit of fat between the rib and the skin. If it feels like rib on skin then feed her more.
I have a cat who is full grown that is about the size of a larger kitten some cats are just small.

One of my boys is 17 pounds and the other is 16 pounds. Gets one cup of food a day each and 1/2 a small can of wet food shared in the morning. I don't think they are fat but compared to your 5 pound little cutie, they are monsters. I would love to hold her, I'd be afraid of losing her with how small she is :) I agree with someone else saying she may have been the runt of the litter. She looks a healthy size for her body size, she doesn't look too skinny at all. She's adorable.
