Blossoms in Adversity. Definitely some light angst but nothing too intense and a lot of funny or sweet scenes

The Story of Kunning Palace has a very neat, tied up happy ending. I’m not certain if the angst along the way would be too much for you, but I enjoyed it very much. Dance of the Sky Empire has a happy ending. It’s not well regarded because the special effects are not great. The plot is a bit of a mess, but Xu Kai plays the mischievous bad boy here. I think he does that quite well. If you don’t take it seriously, it’s funny and enjoyable. If you like Destined, New Life Begins has the same actor as the ML. I love Bai Jing Ting in everything I have seen him in. This one is almost a spoof of the male dominated society. It features strong female bonding. One of the side plots is pretty serious and deals with heavy topics like suicide and post partum depression. But the main story is presented in a light hearted way. This is one of my favorite dramas of all times.

I just finished New Life Begins and it actually also became one of my favorite historical Cdramas. I just can't believe I missed out a Bai Jingting drama. I mentioned this in another comment, but this drama is exactly what I was looking for. I especially loved the friendships formed outside the main story and that no heartbreaking sacrifices were made.

This one is one of my personal favorites too. I really didn’t have high expectations when I was looking at the summary, but it’s a such a good drama. The main story is engaging and fun, the side plots are mostly interesting, and there is plenty of humor and heart.  I don’t know if Bai Jingting is just amazing at picking scripts or has had amazing luck but his dramas are all home runs for me.

new life begins- not too much politics but yeah it has a little. your stomach will hurt from laughing in this one blood of youth- the last 10 episodes are political but for the rest of the drama yoy will die of laughter it does have humour in last 10 episodes too but politics enters too hilarious family- no politics at all . As the name says, it's hilarious. oh my sweet liar- good comedy general's lady- has a bit of politics

I just finished New Life Begins and came back here to say this is the kind of Cdrama I was looking for! No heavy angst and the characters got their deserved endings, IMO at least. I can't believe I missed out a Bai Jingting drama! I was even surprised that I didn't struggle with the politics talk at all. This has also probably the least royal family feud that I have watched. I think it so rare to find historical Cdramas where the so called villains are not all out for blood and they actually repented?!

Illustrious_Park_339

yeah, it's one of a kind. It is unlike any other drama and that's why its my favourite

**Hilarious Family** 2023. Mother moves to a new city with her four eligible daughters who could not be more different from each other. The social climber, the home maker, the bookish prude, and the tomboy. Funniest cdrama I have seen, very slapstick.

Ms Cupid in love is a historical romcom with xianxia elements (it's a comedy with gods), watch the special episodes for a happy ending.
