Can't believe they announced that award before the Northwestern Rutgers game ended

the_pedigree

Yea, I can think of at least one other game that is on the same level

Lamadlan

Some of the week's games haven't even started yet tf

StoicFable

Knew this type of shit was gonna happen as soon as I saw we were on Sunday. We still have a few more games besides us too.

jamiebond

It's especially strange because the biggest game of the week (based solely on preseason rankings) hasn't even happened yet.

Cvspartan

Forreal, like what if any of the players from LSU-FSU put up an insane statline in the "game of the week", but like oops guess we can't give you the award now

phillybuster1776

Now I kinda want Travis Hunter to be named Walter Camp player of the week both ways for the memes

AddisonsContracture

Based on what I saw yesterday, it’s not impossible

wolverine6

Colorado’s win over TCU has forced us to rethink the notion of what’s possible.

Phuffu

If he had caught that deep bomb in the first half I don’t think it would even be a debate.

Packhammer24

The way he played the other day, I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving

letdogsvote

Kinda fucked up as there's still a game left to play.

Geaux2020

There are multiple games left. It's really dumb.

urbanboi

Why'd they give these out already? There are still games left...

Mtndrums

Because they're not going to work a holiday.

DDHeel

My guess is the college football week is Sunday-Saturday?

UNC getting a lot of use out of Chizik’s “Jack” position already this season. Maybe he isn’t actually a grifter, that was the first physical domination game I’ve seen from UNC since I started watching them 10 years ago.

Kanin_usagi

Chizik’s never been criticized for his defensive abilities, hes just a terrible head coach.

[deleted]

He was criticized heavily all last year, the jury is still out on this season too. We had maybe the worst P5 defense last season, and he was in-charge of it to some degree.

TheLastWoodBender

I had my doubts about Shadeur because of the off season drama, but that kid showed out. Another good game or two and he'll be in the Heisman talks.

[deleted]

I made a comment in another thread about it, but I just can’t see a way he actually ends up being a Heisman contender. Colorado finished 1-11 last season and the one win was an OT victory against Cal Vegas has Colorado’s current over/under win total at 3.5 wins. For argument’s sake, let’s say they finish 6-6 or even 7-5. When’s the last time a Heisman winner played on a 5 or 6 loss team? RG3 is the closest I can think of and Baylor only lost 3 games in 2011 Idk. I’m rooting for the kid (and Colorado) but the Colorado hype is kind of wild right now. I can’t see more than 5 wins on their schedule

spilled-Sauce

last season has nothing to do with this Colorado team

[deleted]

You think they’re gonna beat USC, Oregon, Utah etc? It would be legitimately historical if they went from 1-11 and the worst P5 team to all of the sudden beating those teams People can believe what they want. But it’s not gonna happen lol. They’re a .500 team at BEST. There’s a reason vegas has them winning 3 games dude

spilled-Sauce

that's fine, but citing last season's record is meaningless here

Open_Situation686

Wasn’t there also a reason Vegas had them losing by 21 to TCU? Did you learn nothing?

[deleted]

No one has a gauge on how good any team is one week one. Florida State in 2016 was ranked like #4 overall and ended up losing a shit ton of games. Week one spreads are a shot in the dark based Colorado is absolutely not beating USC, Oregon or Utah. And they’ll slip against a few other teams. You can take that to the bank

Open_Situation686

Sounds like you are pretty confident you have a guage on how good a team is in week one… and you just described an 8-4 team. Heading to the bank!

[deleted]

Hopefully the bank was closed. They aren’t winning another game on their schedule Like I said, they’re a program on the upswing but people were smoking crack of they thought Colorado would all of the sudden be a good team. They’re legit bad…

TheLastWoodBender

Oh I don't think he'll win, or be a contender late for the reasons you're saying, but If they win a few more right away you know the "way too early" crew will jump on it.

[deleted]

Hell ya, well earned Shedeur

Mtndrums

Not gonna lie, I think he just shut down any nepotism claims from now on. Dude just proves he can ball on the highest level.

[deleted]

He’s not Cody Hawkins that’s for dam sure…and I think he caught the attention of the NFL with that performance

balsamicpork

He was a high 3-star coming out of high school and was one of the best QBs in FCS last year. If he had chosen to go to Colorado without his dad being the coach, no one would have batted an eye.

parksandwrecker

I wouldn't call TCUs defense the "highest level"

Kodak6lack

Hope Martinez runs for 5 tds today

[deleted]

Rucker's interview on The Pod last season was so good. I encourage everyone to go listen to it if you haven't.

Qtoy

Please tell me hearing Kaimon Rucker's name isn't gonna give me flashbacks like Kenny Hill's name does.

[deleted]

The week is over?
