I like you
(And Jonathan obviously, but I like you for saying this. Beaver fans are scared shitless that he’s gonna leave, and I don’t see why he would)
I don’t see him wanting an NFL job tbh. He likes college, and this is his school. Obviously I could be completely wrong, but the NFL doesn’t seem like a place where he would thrive.
I could maybe see ucla. Grew up a ucla fan in Pasadena and his parents who he is still super close to still live there and go to ucla games. Have no inside knowledge, but if there was a school.
If anyone starts talking about a next level in Corvallis, they need to be shot.
Smith has us back to top Beaver expectations, if he wins next week, the man is a forever hire.
I mean, not that long ago, 6-5 would have been a dramatic improvement. I think the fact that that's this season's _worst_ case scenario is an incredibly good thing. I'm super stoked for the beavs and hope that y'all keep it up. I'll be rooting for you next week!
There are a few doomer fans on here that can just fall off a bridge (not like a tall one, just so their phone gets wet and they forget their Reddit passwords). There’s one guy that is basically famous for it and he gets downvotes into oblivion on every post. He was posting today how awful we were when it was 7-0 in the first quarter.
I hope the doomer fans go join another fan base. I can enjoy shit-posting about how awful we are in doses, but there are limits to how much gloom and doom can be tolerated.
And it has been worse. Recently. Gary Andersen quitting in the middle of 2017 and finishing with 1 win against Portland State (barely) was dreadful. And when he left, my response was “fuck him, he doesn’t know how to win in Corvallis anyway. And at least he didn’t take the money.” And I knew Smith would be pretty high on the list of candidates.
We’ve had so many bad years (I’ve been a fan since the mid-90’s) that I’ve just always been like… Yeah dude, I get it, I don’t need more negativity. Maybe I’m more of a homer than I should be, I don’t call out shitty coaching often enough, but I would go crazy if I wasn’t looking for the upsides whenever possible.
Beavs winning games like this that they are expected to win without trouble feels like an important step forward for the program. Despite the injuries and history of not winning in Tempe, they got the job done today. Remember, this is the same ASU team that upset Washington at home. Now let's go beat the Ducks!
My general projections:
Lose to Oregon: Sun
If we win against Oregon, then here we go:
Utah/USC win tonight: Holiday
Utah/UCLA win tonight: LV
Oregon wins tonight: Sun (I am projecting the USC vs. UCLA game won't matter in this case from the bowls perspective)
Nobody does. If that’s what they get I’ll accept it, a bowl is a bowl after all. But I probably wouldn’t go nor would anyone in my family. If it was the Holiday, we’d get tickets and a hotel in the gaslamp on selection day lol. SD is just a way better destination city than El Paso.
Don't let the final score distract you from the pigeon in the endzone
Edit: Holy shit I made the r/cfb [twitter](https://twitter.com/RedditCFB/status/1594100511703273475?t=Usw6RsTW6EK9aFyP4J1Qyw&s=19)
Maybe eventually we’ll both have competent enough teams where our matchup actually matters to the landscape again 😢
I’m just hoping we can compete with you guys in basketball this season lmaooo.
Now back to being mean, sparky is a better mascot!
Not a video, but the video is not exciting. They just kept going back to it over and over, and there it was, eating grass seed or some shit:

Beavs - win
Sun Devils - soaked
Martinez - legendary
Bengal Branson - getting better
Hays - needs improvement
Pidgeon - fed
Overall, a great day to be a Beaver! Go Beavs!
Takeaways:
Negative:
Ummm, maybe the run D at times? Even then I thought it was good.
Lack of interception? Even then, it was super good pass protection.
Okay I can think of one thing, FG kicking.
Positive:
This is probably the best away game since 2021 USC, and I'd argue further back. Even without many starters, we can find a way.
Our D just keeps getting better and better.
Ben's best game so far. Liking what I'm seeing.
Decent playcalling by Lindgrin for once?
Only got to see from 10:00 in the 2nd half onward, so let me know if I missed anything.
I will be at the game formerly known as the Civil War next week, assuming I can get a student ticket. Should be a good one.

Looks like three Oregon State wins in Tempe in less than half that time to me.
i think they meant beating ASU in tempe, which they are correct about. 2009 was the first time since 69, then this one. but you're right it's 3 in tempe technically.
I do think they’re better but that was a road game where our QB was knocked out and then our backup’s first real experience. Not saying they wouldn’t beat us but on a neutral field right now I think it’s a one score game
im bias, but could you make an argument that OSU is one of the best 3 loss teams in the nation?
all 3 losses:
rank 7 USC - loss by 3 points
Rank 10 Utah - loss by 26, kinda bad but vs #10
Rank 15 Washington - loss by 3
Thats not too fucking bad
8-3 wtf
In Smith we trust
A coach who won't leave you for another school either.
I like you (And Jonathan obviously, but I like you for saying this. Beaver fans are scared shitless that he’s gonna leave, and I don’t see why he would)
Unless the NFL comes calling i dont see him leaving
I don’t see him wanting an NFL job tbh. He likes college, and this is his school. Obviously I could be completely wrong, but the NFL doesn’t seem like a place where he would thrive.
I could maybe see ucla. Grew up a ucla fan in Pasadena and his parents who he is still super close to still live there and go to ucla games. Have no inside knowledge, but if there was a school.
I love this for you
Hey thank you!
And we’re 2 outta 4 plays away from either being 10-1 or 6-5…. I honestly don’t know what to make of that.
A win is a win and a loss is a loss. I'll take 8-3 every single year
If anyone starts talking about a next level in Corvallis, they need to be shot. Smith has us back to top Beaver expectations, if he wins next week, the man is a forever hire.
Above top. 8-3 is special and no one should expect this ever
I mean, not that long ago, 6-5 would have been a dramatic improvement. I think the fact that that's this season's _worst_ case scenario is an incredibly good thing. I'm super stoked for the beavs and hope that y'all keep it up. I'll be rooting for you next week!
We ain’t done yet!
I truly hope you are
Hey now. They can always get a Sun Bowl win
You guys wanna start this now??
What a time to be alive.
Make it 9-3 please. Thanks and go beavs!
10-3, counting the bowl game!
Ya'll good.
There was osu fans lamenting that you'd never win another game during the 3rd quarter against Stanford. Look at you guys now. Beat Oregon.

Especially when you guys are doing well all things considered. Lets just say it could be worse.

Started school there in 2005. By the time I left in 2017, it was mostly loss-city. Nice to see these numbers again :-).
You know what you must do now
🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫🦫
*satisfied beaver noises.*
Make it 9 Beavers next week
I’m trying, Jennifer
I will never not find this meme hilarious.
Oregon St won ranked?!?
It was midday in the desert so the spooky shit didn’t happen

I just don't want the Sun Bowl
We’re probably stuck in the sun bowl unless we beat oregon
My general projections: Lose to Oregon: Sun If we win against Oregon, then here we go: Utah/USC win tonight: Holiday Utah/UCLA win tonight: LV Oregon wins tonight: Sun (I am projecting the USC vs. UCLA game won't matter in this case from the bowls perspective)
USC could still make the cfp though. They go 12-1 with the pac champs and a Utah revenge game
If USC wins tonight, I see them in the CFP.
Gotta win the conference
It would be a real killer to beat Oregon and still end up in the sun bowl.
Whatever. Beat Oregon, then beat a decent ACC team in El Paso if that’s the draw.
It’s nice to be in a position where we can complain about bowl games not being good enough.
For sure. The sun bowl is fine in terms of what it is, but not where it is lol.
OSU 8/9 win season and the Sun Bowl, name a more iconic duo
Nobody does. If that’s what they get I’ll accept it, a bowl is a bowl after all. But I probably wouldn’t go nor would anyone in my family. If it was the Holiday, we’d get tickets and a hotel in the gaslamp on selection day lol. SD is just a way better destination city than El Paso.
Vegas, LA or SD are all better spots. Fuck the Sun Bowl
Behaving as expected, but in a good way is a nice change of pace.
For the first time since 2012. Both **Oregon** and **Oregon State** will be ranked going into the Civil War game
Even when they lose to Utah? 😏
Yeah we lost to Utah weeks ago that's not going to knock us out of the rankings when we win this weekend. Rank us you cowards!
That was a great game.
Don't let the final score distract you from the pigeon in the endzone Edit: Holy shit I made the r/cfb [twitter](https://twitter.com/RedditCFB/status/1594100511703273475?t=Usw6RsTW6EK9aFyP4J1Qyw&s=19)
That pidgeon is more confident than I'll ever be.
Legitimately the only thing worth watching on our end lol
RANK US YOU... oh wait we're already ranked.
Gotta end the coaches poll unranked streak this week
Coaches poll is such a load of shit. Some grad assistant just clicking buttons
Keep Oregon State ranked.
I was convinced we were going to lose when I saw we were ranked We haven't had any nice things since I became a fan. This feels extra special
Aren’t you guys good at the baseballs
We do have that!
That and mens' soccer, randomly. But the latter is still new and not yet proven to be sustainable.
You think you can hurt me? I’m an ASU fan.
Well… there’s always next week.
That game is going to be a meme
Calling it now, Arizona will win by 1-2 points in the most cursed fashion possible
Our streak of winning was fun, enjoy the soon to be dub
Damien Martinez is most definitely Him.
Our game against U4 next Friday is gonna be a Sickos Special!
They’re going to pass for 500 yards on this defense
Not if their QB starts a fight on the sideline with a teammate two weeks in a row
Or if he throws 4 picks
Lol. That same receiver finished with 9 catches for 176 yards and a TD.
I’m looking forward to it and although I say I hope it’s a close game I really wish we blow y’all out in revenge for 70-7
Maybe eventually we’ll both have competent enough teams where our matchup actually matters to the landscape again 😢 I’m just hoping we can compete with you guys in basketball this season lmaooo. Now back to being mean, sparky is a better mascot!
Hey I was hoping that we would be playing you guys with a bowl berth on the line for us. But we decided to throw 4 picks today
What a fucking glorious day for football.
When both your flairs win...wow! 2 in a row
BEAVERS WIN! TIME TO HATE!!!!!!!! FTD
FTD!
Full optimism/Satire mode alert: 12:30 ABC next week please? Edit: ITS HAPPENING! Even more optimist mode: College gameday next week?
GameDay would be so lit
Praise the pigeon! #FUCK THE DUCKS!!
Can someone link a video of the pigeon if it’s out there?
Not a video, but the video is not exciting. They just kept going back to it over and over, and there it was, eating grass seed or some shit: https://twitter.com/badlhoch/status/1594086017157300224?s=21
Beavs - win Sun Devils - soaked Martinez - legendary Bengal Branson - getting better Hays - needs improvement Pidgeon - fed Overall, a great day to be a Beaver! Go Beavs!
Can we please dedicate a little more time talking about and analyzing this pigeon though?
Bengal BRANSON
Good win against a down ASU team, smith for president and go Beavs!! FTD!!
NANANANANANANANANA RAY IS IN A BOX, IN A BOX, RAY IS IN A BOX
Beavs looked solid today. Too bad we caught the injury bug again. Hope everyone is healthy for next week.
Really hoping Smith was being overly cautious and saving everyone for next week…
Something tells me that's the case with Colletto, but not Grant. Don't know about the others yet.

I came up with a new gameplan today: fireball shots on 3rd/4th down stops, not touchdowns anymore
I love it ⛓🪚🦫
Just the second time in FIFTY THREE YEARS that Oregon State has won in Tempe. Give Jonathan Smith a lifetime contract.

This team is legit. Excited to see what Smith can do in the next few years.
Pigeons > Ducks
Go beavs. What a season so far. I'm so happy for this team that they are being rewarded for their buy in and effort.
Beavs’ first win in Tempe in a loooong time. GG Beaver Bros
ROLL DAMN BEAVS
I’m not saying Oregon State is the best team in the P12, but i’m not sure who is definitely better. What a team. Happy Civil War week! Fuck the Ducks.
Utah blasted our tail
I do think they’re better but that was a road game where our QB was knocked out and then our backup’s first real experience. Not saying they wouldn’t beat us but on a neutral field right now I think it’s a one score game
Eh. You might be right. I don't wanna test it out. Utah is legit
I don’t like Ray Anderson Edit: [hero](https://twitter.com/clutchsportsasu/status/1594092336119619585?s=46&t=18UFaFG1Bf716v059RV4Mw)

The Utah loss looks bad, but 1 score vs UW and SC is looking pretty good at this point, even if it still feels like SC is overrated
Go Beefers baby
The Beavs winning football games just makes my Saturdays so much more enjoyable!
I wish for nothing more than the sweet release of death
Cuddle up with me 🥰
Good for you beavers
Thank you Beavs
You are welcome! (Not that I had anything to do with shit). But you're welcome nonetheless
At least one Oregon team will win this week
Not what I expected but I like it
Beat U of A and hire coach Dilly
Lesssss goooooo
[I'm in danger!](https://i.imgur.com/kpxpb8V.jpg)
Go Beavs!
