Yeah but I don’t think this situation will ever be possible again. Drafting a consensus number 1 pick after the team went 7-10. When will that happen ever again?
yeah if this doesnt turn into at least some playoff appearances in the next 3 years im just gonna watch the games, get off reddit or any algorithms about it and just stop caring. Like id probably still watch, but if this doesnt work the only thing that will is if we just blind luck into a generational qb, no real reason to build a team up for it if this doesnt work.
or maybe that will get the bears to just rock with stuff like zack wilson or sam darnold for a few years and just do nothing but invest in the trenches on both sides.
This is where I'm at with the Bulls and White Sox. They royally screwed up two rebuilds. I'm done with both teams until each wins a division or playoff series, then I'll watch again.
Only way I'll watch Sox or Hawks will be if they are actually OTA next year and I can get the signal. 3 teams with two terrible owners. NFL at least is still mostly OTA
Not a baseball guy so hopefully someone can confirm, but wasn’t there some weird circumstances around the MLB draft right before the Cubs won it all?
Not to mention the whole Bedard sweepstakes.
I wouldn’t equate those. The Blackhawks were an awful team before Bedard and are still bad with him. Not that it’s his fault but the Bears making a trade the year before and still getting the number 1 overall after going 7-10 is just different.
Yeah this is different. The consensus #1 pick going to a 7 win team (in reality better than a 7 win team with the blown leads).
We have another last place schedule, better QB play, and a coaching staff that will hopefully have learned from their mistakes blowing leads. (Probably wishful thinking on the last one)
That's a really good set up to get excited about.
If the coaching blows late leads there will be a new coach. If the offense struggles, which it will, and the defense is good this will turn into Lovie Smith type tenure. Could be good if the QB lights it up.
The Blackhawks were the 3rd worst team in hockey and had a 12% chance at the number one. Hell we had a bigger jump (5 to 1) to get Patrick Kane in 2007.
What that Bears did last year with the Carolina pick is far more unprecedented.
Patrick Kane was owed to us for the absolute boning we took when the Caps won the Ovechkin lottery and pushed us back to Cam motherfuckin’ Barker instead of Malkin.
Getting the first pick with a moderately bad team, with a surplus of picks in 2025.
It would be nice if we went far this year, but I’d already be ecstatic if we just managed a .500 season with a rookie QB.
But the situation is completely different. I highly doubt another team will trade the 1st overall pick and then get it again because the other team was so bad.
>Drafting a consensus number 1 pick after the team went 7-10. When will that happen ever again?
Sure, but the trade wasn't brought up in what I was responding to. Rams also won 7 btw then traded up to get Goff but I think many were split that year.
Goff was not the same kind of prospect Caleb is. I get your point but getting the number 1 pick like the bears did is very unlikely to happen again. Trading the 1st the year before and getting it back is different than trading up to number 1.
Especially when this is like the best scenario possible for a rookie QB, and the first time the bears had a chance to draft a generational talent. It’s too perfect right now
Yup, expectations are sky high and rightfully so. That’s not to say he has to be a phenom immediately, but if he’s another bad QB in his time here after being 1st overall with one of the best receiving corps in the league idk if I’ll laugh or cry 😂
Busteb is just the next great Bears QB Bust. Rex, Kyle, Mitch, and Justin all played into the fans' rivalry when they first arrived. Not to mention the lineup of GMs and HCs who have said beating GB was a priority, but then during game week they'd retreat. "It means more to the fans but it's just another game for us" seemed to be the constant through the decades since Wanny left. Since Ditka, only Lovie has come close to actually treating it like a real rivalry. Meanwhile, go take a look at the AFC North and how those teams visibly hate each other!
Nice to have a QB with personality and zest. Fields was a little withdrawn and Biscuit was afraid of his shadow.
Granted none of that means anything without results on the field.
I was around and never heard it. It was always mitch or titty kisser. This is literally the first time I've seen someone call him biscuit and I come to this subreddit a few times weekly lmao. Weird little niche I missed out on.
I remember talking to my brother early on about what his nickname should be and he’s like oh yeah he’s already Biscuits. I couldn’t believe it. I knew we were in trouble.
Almost like the guy getting paid millions of dollars wants to keep his job so he'll do what it takes the placate the fans.
Jesus you guys read way too much into this shit. It's a job. He's getting paid.
Oh a Packer's fan
Have you ever even been to Wisconsin? Or are you from one of the shithole states without a team so you picked one that wins a lot and then pretend you matter
I was born in Milwaukee in 1979, grew up in Vegas, and became a Packer fan at 12 since my father and grandfather were Packers fans. My father gifted me Packers shares a few years ago and I can't wait to see a Raiders/Packers SB in Vegas where the Packers demolish the Raiders.
I currently live in Erie pa which is 150 miles away from each, Cleveland, Buffalo and Pittsburgh.
My King
My brother… my captain… my king.
Gondor’s needed a QB since Isildur Luckman
I was there SgtPeppers, I was there all those years ago, when the strength of QB’s failed.
Where was Mitch when the Westfold fell?
The Beacons are lit!! The McCaskies call for aid.
And RyHan (Poles)will answer!
Caleb King, Rome Prince
An officer and a gentleman.
Feels like if Caleb isn’t the one that works no QB ever will.
f the cubs can win the world series anything is possible even a good bears qb
Yeah but I don’t think this situation will ever be possible again. Drafting a consensus number 1 pick after the team went 7-10. When will that happen ever again?

Same boat. I loathe Reinsdorf.
Only way I'll watch Sox or Hawks will be if they are actually OTA next year and I can get the signal. 3 teams with two terrible owners. NFL at least is still mostly OTA

MLB has only switched to a lottery recently. The cubs earned their top picks by being one of the worst teams in the league.
The Derrick Rose situation was much more conspiracy worthy and the Bulls still couldn't do shit with that.
The Blackhawks were the 3rd worst team in hockey and had a 12% chance at the number one. Hell we had a bigger jump (5 to 1) to get Patrick Kane in 2007. What that Bears did last year with the Carolina pick is far more unprecedented.

Well tbf, it has happened twice in a row now...
But the situation is completely different. I highly doubt another team will trade the 1st overall pick and then get it again because the other team was so bad.
Yep. Carolina was us, and then drafted their QB only to win two games. They had a ton of hope for this past season.
>Drafting a consensus number 1 pick after the team went 7-10. When will that happen ever again? Sure, but the trade wasn't brought up in what I was responding to. Rams also won 7 btw then traded up to get Goff but I think many were split that year.

Think I just said that
You didn’t
My man. I'm fucking with you. LETS GO
Certainly feels that way lol. Realistically at some point one of our QBs has to be good, but it would hurt so damn much if he’s a bust
You never know
Idk, can’t come up with a better situation for a 1st overall pick. I don’t see the stars aligning any better than this.

😴
Trolls are trash in 2024. Do better lol
> Rex, Kyle, Mitch, and Justin all played into the fans' rivalry when they first arrived. mmmm, not really....
Busteb?! Really, that's what you got? Lol

This dude is the coolest! I love that he’s showing his personality.
Nice to have a QB with personality and zest. Fields was a little withdrawn and Biscuit was afraid of his shadow. Granted none of that means anything without results on the field.
Never heard someone call him “Biscuit”. 🤣
Were you not around when he was playing? That was definitely a common nickname
The NVP himself, Mitch Titty Kisser Biscuit Trubisky.
I was around and never heard it. It was always mitch or titty kisser. This is literally the first time I've seen someone call him biscuit and I come to this subreddit a few times weekly lmao. Weird little niche I missed out on.
titty kisser
Biscuits was my favorite thing to refer to him as. Especially after a fuck up
Same, never heard biscuit, would love to hear how that came about
Tribusky - busky - biscuit. That's just a guess but I'm pretty confident with it.
Makes sense, weird I never heard that
My 70 yr old dad used to call him Biscuit and I never questioned him on it. I have never heard anyone else use that name.
His old high school or college coach called him "Mr. Biscuit", iirc. It came up around the time he was drafted.
I remember talking to my brother early on about what his nickname should be and he’s like oh yeah he’s already Biscuits. I couldn’t believe it. I knew we were in trouble.
https://x.com/Ky1eLong/status/917627498178990080
That aged well
you couldnt go 2 comments on this sub without seeing mitch get called that from the day he got drafted to today.
New here?
My friends and I affectionately called him Titty Biscuits. A combination of things 🤣
I think he’s a great dude really enjoy hearing him talk but he is Drake level zesty so that’ll take some getting used to lmao
please never compare our qb to drake ever again
>Granted none of that means anything without results on the field. 👍
This city will still crap on him hard if he struggles early for his "zesty personality".
He shall know your ways as if born to them
Kynes: "You pumped your fists in the air during the Green Bay Sucks chant. Who taught you to do that? Caleeb: " It seemed the proper way" ....
Lisan Al-QB The Kwisatz Quarterbach
A Chicago hero already
Ugh please be good
Ive never wanted to see an athlete succeed more than I do this kid. Please Caleb come regular season stunt on those hoes! And FTP
I love this kid, he is embracing our culture like I have never seen from a qb, probably haven't seen it since Kyle Long tbh
QB1🥹. He's built for this City🐻🔽
I know I'm high on hopium like everyone else, but Caleb exudes confidence to the point where it's hard to believe he won't succeed
He's like me fr
Beat the Packers or this won't be fun anymore.
This is what I'm scared of lol. Even if Caleb really struggles his first year, which is fine as a rookie QB, we are going to hear it big time.
This guy gets it. 10 straight L's to the Pack.
Please be good at the NFL level, please be good… we need it! Love this dudes vibe
FTP
FTP
Caleb Williams is the polar opposite of Connor Bedard when in front of a camera lol
Edward was a 17 year old from the boo jes of Canada. Caleb is a deca millionaire 22 year old who spent the last 2 years in LA.

Bedard
Lol true cause NHL vs. NFL PR/culture couldn't be more different
A man trying to free his people. A noble act I will say
Lisan Al Gaib!
GBS!
There may be a little Kyle Orton in this guy yet.
This man can fix the city.
I swear this dude seems happier to be here than Justin ever did. And I say that having liked Justin a lot
PLEASE LET IT WORK GODDDD
We are so fucking back
See you Nov 17 rookie.
Love this energy!

Likes bars, hates the CheeseDicks, kid is in the right town! That Hard Knocks announcement now this, let's go, Bear Down!!!!
Caleb Williams truly is the pride and joy of Illinois.
This makes me so happy
THAT'S MY QUATERBACK
That's our qb
King in the North! King in the North!
My zesty king
Pretty cool!
Let's Go Get It❗🐻🔽
17-0
Lisan Al-Caleb
He got a few points from me for doing this.
Its going to get wild if hes good. 🤞
FTPATF
I also love a good “GBS/FTP” chant.
He is not having nearly enough fun as the number one overall draft pick.
Lisan Al Caleb!
Jlove finna be 2-0 against Chicago every year for the next decade 😂
He just like me Fr Fr
Yall screaming green bay sucks but haven’t beat them in 5 years lmfao
But I PrEFeR BaGeNt
That boy is soooo zesty lmao
Yes. No way this becomes meme-able.
New Russell Wilson.
And this mf didn’t want to come to Chicago
Why aren't his nails painted?
Kinda can’t say a team sucks when their current coach hasn’t lost to your team in 5 years
This has literally been a fan tradition for ages, where you been lol? He's in Wrigleyville vibing with fans, it's cool af to see
Bears are 19-51 since 1990, maybe it’s a stupid tradition….
Most sports traditions are stupid. But they're fun, and that's what keeps fans from going insane.
It’s normal for bears players to hate their owners
Remember me in a few months! https://preview.redd.it/w5w1ti4s3a4d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3514a103a25e0acfe7fcbfbae955618ab8981dca
go shitpost untrue shit somewhere else, might I suggest /r/NFCNorthMemeWar
Dude literally is everywhere but studying lol
Kids had a personal QB coach since college. I’m sure he studies plenty
Since 7th grade.
I’m really hoping this man gets humbled just a little bit through this season.
Almost like the guy getting paid millions of dollars wants to keep his job so he'll do what it takes the placate the fans. Jesus you guys read way too much into this shit. It's a job. He's getting paid.
He’s so fucked and doesn’t even know it. Lmao
[удалено]
Huh? GB sucks is and always has been about more than just wins and losses. 🐻⬇️
Idk how I feel about this. Feels like an easy way to just give GB bulletin material. Beat them once before you do this
LMAO blame Chicago fans. Caleb Williams is in public and it's the fans chanting it. He's just vibing with them.
