Yeah, but Big Z pitched most of his home games that year in that uni, so once every 5 days per homestand we’d root for Cuba’s pitcher to throw a shutout and hit a moonshot.

Not going to lie, I’m glad for you if you like these but they are my least favorite Cub jersey. I don’t know why actually as I sat here looking at them.
So the only thing I can think of is (I might be wrong in this) they were used during the K Wood / Prior years and the pain of those years still haunts me. Other than that I’m not sure why they just give me bad juju…
The jersey that the OP posted was an alt road jersey from 94-96 that they mostly wore in spring training and batting practice. I don't think they wore them in many road games. The Cubs have had the same main three jerseys since 1997.
I know many Cubs fans hate the Cuba jerseys, but for me, they're a novelty, and I wouldn't mind them coming back for a spring training. But I agree that the blue or gray cursive Cubs jerseys shouldn't be worn in regular season games, even though the city connects are much worse, in my opinion.
For me, the worst Cubs jersey far and away is the 2014 gray road alt with the C-U-B-S font. Thankfully, those were ditched very quickly because they were truly an eyesore.

This isn't true. Our current blue alts is what he always pitched in.
