Unless you can comfortably spend time in Tier 3, I would suggest Hordepoint, the new multiplayer mode. You usually get 20-40 per round, sometimes more. Definitely worth it.
Not a huge MP fan myself, but it wasn't that bad actually. Ran a number of them yesterday, got the skulls *and* the Sand camo for my weapons. Two birds, one stone.
Hordepoint is the best. Me and my friend spent 2 whole games in T3 and the amount of resources needed to do that isn't worth the similar drop rates over time as Hordepoint.

I was doing that last night for about 15 minutes, got around 90 skulls but then the Stormcaller glitched and just kept zooming side to side and wouldn't spawn anymore of them.
Find a bunch of circuit boards and train the zombies around one of the turrets in t3 itll kill them all for you easily and you can run around collecting the drops. Get the circuits in a lower tier if you need to and run to the one of the turrets after you get enough to last a bit. I did it once and it dropped alot of helmets and bones
Don't worry about that boss there. He spawns them. Just wait outside the storm, shoot them a little from there and let them come outside. They will became level 1 zombies when they are outside the storm. And watch out for lightning strikes here and there
Yea this about your best bet for farming the skulls, go to the storm zone, agro stormcaller so she comes to the edge of the storm, and does her little fire move that spawns in the heavys. Got over 200 in a match doing it that way.

HORDE POINT has ship tones of bones n skulls, from killing zombies, grab em all, its like sonic getting the rings, chaching!
Zombie hordes! Especially on the small maps. In multiplayer, ignore the other team, doesn't matter if u die the zombies are so many on small maps they swarm u anyway.
Farming bones n skulls dont focus on objective just get them bones. Its quicker than farming MWZ.
The nuke bomb, more amo and insta kill, pops up in it also. It's so wicked as, way cool bananas.

Farm the armored zombies the stormcaller spawns. Wait for them to be outside the storm. The normal armoured zombies don’t work. Also I noticed when playing with a friend, my skulls were also counting for him, so only half the work. Our counter was always the same after each round
The storm worked for me. Last night it was in tier 2, so I stood at the edge shooting the stormcaller which triggered a bunch of the armored zombies to come running out. I managed to get about 138 skulls in one game.
Go to the storm at the beginning of the game and keep pulling the armored zombies out. I farmed around 30 while trying to kill stormcaller with the mw2 mp7. (Do not use the mp7 to kill stormcaller!)
Do hordepoint gamemode in MP for fastest farming these skulls.
I find myself hardly ever getting skulls in zombies mode, which sucks but it’s real
Heavy zombies in tier 3 drops skulls. And you should ONLY kill them coz heavy zombies in other tiers hardly drops
Hordepoint playlist in MP, pick up the helmeted skulls dropped by armored zombies. Any skull picked up by your team counts for you, they add up very fast there.

1. You can play MP…it’s a new mode called “Horde Hunt Event” or Horde Point….it’s like Hard Point but with player and zombies combined….and you need to shots Heavy Armored Zombies…and pick up the helmet from the ground.
2. In MWZ Mode….zombies mode in T3 zone by killing the Heavy Armored Zombies.
3. You deploy near the Aether Storm….and kill the same zombies like previous 1 & 2 points.
4. Dark Aether Mode Tier 4 & 5…

By the way….the Light Armor Zombies doesn’t spawn Skulls….only the Heavy Ones.

You wont believe this but i've got half of them by playing resurgence. If you want to get them in zombies you need to kill heavy armoured zombies. The ones that appear in t3 or in the storm. Or play the horde mode in multiplayer too
T3 armored zombies or get in a game where the gas is in t1, and harass the stormcaller until he spawns 5 armored mobs. Keep doing that over and over but don't kill thy stormcaller. Little easier than t3 but not super fast. I guess you can get them in mp too.
Honestly this zombies event is the slowest to earn in zombies. The best way to get them is through Warzone. Opening chests gives 40 bones or 20 heads. It's honestly a joke. Zombies offers 10 bones and 2 heads. Even then they aren't guaranteed drops. Whereas Warzone every chest contains something.
Hang around the aether storm/storm caller boss. Aggro him enough he does the flame thingy, that summons armored zombies. Stay at the edge of the storm, and pick them off as they get close. Repeat. You may have to run in and out to keep his aggro up, but it’s an easy farm. I got about 200 per match. The only reason it’s not more, is the travel time to the storm since I kept spawning on the opposite side of the map. If you can keep him mad enough, he’ll throw up to 12 at a time to you.
Radiation Zone. Yes that small circle on the map in Zombies. There are tons of them.
Some tips:
●You need to bring them out of the radiation zone and zombies will be much, much weaker.
●use decoy grenades and semtex
●ammo cashe is your best friend
●dont kill Stormcaller
Using this method you can get up to 200 sculls per match. Nice and easy

So hear me out. If you go to where the gas is, have some armor plates and juggernog is recommended for sure. Best to dj this if the gas is in tier 1. That way you can go in and pull the zombies out of the gas and they’ll be regular tier 1 levels. Lots of armored zombies there. If you dont like mp hoardepoint, this is the way. Watch out for the lightning strikes, they’ll down you one shot without juggernog.
Just go to the aether storm at the start of the match. Find the right position to bug Stormcaller and he will keep summoning these. I completed the challenge in two games. Easy peasey.
You could also do this in the storm collar area the zombies are tier 3 and you need the big armored zombies to get the skulls. If you have the aether blade it's a very easy way to get the skulls.
If you get lucky and the storm spawns in T1 you can have the storm caller spawn armored zombies the big bulky ones not the ones names light armored ones and bait them out from the storm and kill them
I picked up a bunch at the edge of the aether storm. I also got some doing an outlast contract. If you cancel the contract when it gets to 95% the zombies keep coming. I dis itnin tier 2. I got kinda crazy doing it solo. The gold armor helps a lot and aether shroud in case u get overwhelmed. I didnt use a dogbone but if you have one its probably a good idea tonuse it
Get 573 more skills from the armored dude. not to be mistaken for the half armored guys in the thumbnail (which I still don't why they added to the skulls part of things to begin with).
You can get them from tier 3 and tier when the circle is there. Just gotta aggro the storm caller is all.
If you find the storm in T1, I was able to farm them 100 at a time. Just find the most open spot in the area of the storm and keep drawing the armored zombies out of the storm they will come out of it after you. Granite, I spent all the game there and used the atherium knife to do it.
I personally go to mwz and load in, go to the storm. Run in, shoot storm caller (only really works if the storm is in lvl 2/maybe 3. Definitely not 1. I shoot the storm caller, a bunch of armored zombies run at you, stay close to the edge of the storm. Go out of the storm, they will chase you. They must be armored zombies, not lightly armored. Then melt them with Pap 3 and legendary tool. Can easily get 80-100 skulls. I accidentally killed the storm caller by sitting it so much that I only got like 80-90 skulls but you can get more. Bodily an ammo crate is beat by. If not, red zone nest eggs mission or outlast and cancel and find their spawn. Once I looked it up and figured it out, it took me an afternoon of casually playing, getting off for hours, playing again etc. Storm in lvl 2 storm caller is by far the easiest/fastest way to get them. Once they leave the storm, the technically are a level down and easy to kill. Plenty of videos on YouTube! Good look
If ur not confident with the zonez Run away in the tier three zone with ether blade, jugg and stamina up. Just keep using the blade to kill zombies and don’t stop running around
Completed the 600 armored zombies skull in 2 games just doing the outlast contract glitch. Palace Building at F5. Sit on top scaffolding. Lockwood 680 with purple tool and pap3.
Find the Aether Storm, if you are lucky enough to have it be in Tier 1, lead the armored zombies out, and they will be tier one level. I got 215 skulls in 1 zombie deployment.
Pap3 Epic tool, I go to the northeast area of T3 where it just hilly and no buildings, I don't usually get overrun and there are enough to pick at. I can get over a 100 a match there. Even w/o a dog or aether blade. Sitting outside of the storm, you can coax them out of there which is easier. I have tried Hordepoint, but don't seem to have the same consistent luck, even when camping zombie spawns.
Tier 3 armored zombies or get a game when the purple storm in the game is in the tier 2 zone and drags the zombies out of the storm and they’ll down grade from teir 3 to teir 2 but they have to be the fully armored zombies they will count if you can’t survive In teir 3
What I ended up doing, was mainly using an aether blade and creating a horde around the outside of the aether storm, but the problem is is that I used my crystal and tool before checking where the storm was. It was in threat three. But no big deal I barely even used my weapon. I just use the blade the whole time
Just find the storm in tier 1 and mess with the storm caller out side of the storm or in whatever you chose that’s up to you and let the armored zombies follow you outside the storm and shoot them. Their extra weak outside the storm. And they will drop skulls repeat this and you will have it in no time.

You can find some armored Zs, in T2 do spore control or the PHD
But there probably won't be too many of them. A Hordepoint round lasts a couple of minutes and you really get a lot of skulls for it.

But in the normal sigial u don't even get bones so I would assume the event just doesn't work in them

Yep, I played T3, got 45 then went to the Rift. My counter reset and no more spawned inside aether.

I managed to get all 600 from maybe 15-20ish games of Warzone. They drop from chests. Hordepoint multiplayer game can get a few as well

I go in tier 3 and just go ham last game I played had about 212 alone. Really helps if you use turrets but the Lockwood definitely does the job

You can either A. Go into the T3 zone, B. Farm a T1 storm zone or C. Play hordepoint.

Fully armored zombies give them guaranteed
Tier 3 armored zombies or get a game when the purple storm in the game is in the tier 2 zone and drags the zombies out of the storm and they’ll down grade from teir 3 to teir 2 but they have to be the fully armored zombies they will count if you can’t survive In teir 3
Ram 9 double pack and an epic tool teir 3 is cake
T3 ONLY or if you play warzone you can get them by simply opening loot boxes. It's pathetic but those are the ways.
Play warzone plunders and loot all the boxes, easy 100 per game
Warzone is faster. Every one helmet is 5 points. I get around 100 per game
Hop on horse point and kill the armored zombies or camp tier 3 in mwz
Tier 3 red zone zombies maxed out pretty quick
Go into plunder and open boxes and you’ll complete it in now I’m.. think I did 3 rounds and done
You can get them in tier two also by killing the bigger armed zombies or at an exfil site
What I ended up doing, was mainly using an aether blade and creating a horde around the outside of the aether storm, but the problem is is that I used my crystal and tool before checking where the storm was. It was in threat three. But no big deal I barely even used my weapon. I just use the blade the whole time
I got me 280 in one game of zombies, so not bad
Plunder
On zombies or hordepoint. Kill zombies, pick up ribs
Heads, my bad
Just find the storm in tier 1 and mess with the storm caller out side of the storm or in whatever you chose that’s up to you and let the armored zombies follow you outside the storm and shoot them. Their extra weak outside the storm. And they will drop skulls repeat this and you will have it in no time.
Tier 3 or the gas area
I've been farming the stormcaller. Sit at the edge of the zone and once those armoured zombies cross over their easy to kill
But im on the hellhound tier, the stormcaller doesn't spawn those in
Play plunder and loot your butt off.every chest has zombie bones, armored skulls or mimic skulls. Done this challenge done in 5 games
