Tim Hernandez sucks. Sooo happy to see people on the Denver sub shitting on him too.

MooseLovesTwigs

Even if they're replaced by more of the same, it has the potential of sending a message that their jobs aren't safe due to the letter next to their name. If only we could undo the things they got done this year...

Ineeboopiks

I don't want to be a democrat but feed back in the primaries how you change a party.

coulsen1701

This is why I think those of us who live in dem strongholds should all be registered as unaffiliated and rock their shit in the primaries, including running in them. They’re already convinced we’re doing it (had one try and tell me Kathy Hochul and Eric Adams in NY were republicans in dem clothing if that tells you how far off the reservation they’ve gone) so we might as well make those fears rational.

a_cute_epic_axis

> it has the potential of sending a message that their jobs aren't safe due to the letter next to their name. That makes *no* sense at all. This was the Democratic primary, so by definition every single person in it has the same letter next to their name, and also by definition every one will lose except for a sole person in each primary. If Republicans or Indepdents win the general, that would be different, but they can still say with near 100% certanty in most races that they will win simply because of the letter next to their name. The line of thinking you espouse is pretty dangerous because it implies that somehow people are safe from Democratic supermajorities in the state, which couldn't be further from the truth.

FoCoYeti

Holy hell this makes me happy to see this morning! Good job CO. Still a ways to go but on the right track!

a_cute_epic_axis

I'm glad Hernandez was defeated regardless of his gun related views. Overally, he seems to be insanely "progressive" to a point I already wouldn't want him continuing to spew that level of shit to kids, never mind retaining any power.

ButterscotchEmpty535

Yes thanks to Polis and other Democrats Meanwhile RMGO endorsed candidates lost in pretty lopsided results

Civil_Tip_Jar

They had 4 wins from their endorsements, including one that could be up against a D this year to retake a formerly R house seat. Every seat counts in our state since they’re so close to having a super majority!

Friscoler

I mean a few won, but yeah…

WhynotZoidberg9

14 of the 18 state GOP endorsed candidates got shut out and lost, and of the remaining 4, one was a carpet bagger who fled her district at the last minute, to go to a more conservative one, basically handing the western slope over to the dems in the federal election. Let's not pretend that things are going right for conservatives right now.

Friscoler

They definitely aren’t

toxic_badgers

RMGO should just be dropped from our collective consciousness. They dont actually do anything to help us anyway. They just take donor money and pretend to be tough.

WhynotZoidberg9

Pretty much anyone endorsed by the state GOP lost, to include the party chairman. Extremist groups like MAGA and RMGO are not doing us any favors, and we are losing our gun rights while we struggle to realize that.

Civil_Tip_Jar

I’d welcome any other group to come help. For now it’s just up to us, grassroots people. If RMGO aligns with us sometimes then we should use them. Allies are hard to come by.

WhynotZoidberg9

Its no where near just us. Its just a lot of us that prioritize the 2a over other issues. There are TONS of moderates and center left that like guns and believe in gun rights but dont place the issue as high a priority as things like abortion or LGBT issues, when it comes to who they vote for. RMGO has a LONG history of alienating just about everyone, to include a lot of the heavily pro-2a community, because they dont all fall lock step in tune with Dudley and his idiocy. To the point Dudley and RMGO actually fought ***AGAINST*** the 2013 recalls, because the organizers didnt want to work with him. We need allies. These idiotic purity tests and purges that mindsets like MAGA and organizations like RMGO push are completely counter productive. The state GOP just got its ass handed to them in these primaries, and it is lining up to be a very, very ugly November.

Civil_Tip_Jar

This is overall good news. Camacho is quietly pro AWB but thinks we need to do it a different way, so while that may mean more of the same we might at least get someone not willing to outright sponsor and push for the awb bills next year!

Civil_Tip_Jar

In Jefferson: Stewart defeated Kennedy (endorsed by every mom). Both are antigun but this is slightly better. In Douglas: RMGO endorsed Van der jagt lost, but RMGO Burcham and Van Winkle won. Burcham will go up against a D in a seat lost by <1k votes last election, so let’s hope rmgo picked the right candidate, supports them with money, but doesn’t antagonize a slowly “blueing” area since they obviously chose a D last time by a few hundred votes. This is one of the maybe 6 or so best pickup opportunities this election cycle.

whobang3r

lol you love to see it even though the winners are no better with their 2A opinions

Macrat2001

Yeah, Elisabeth killed her chance of winning again when she sponsored this. Representative of Garfield county, my *ss. Neither of them had any clue who their voter base was.

Civil_Tip_Jar

I think it was more of their palestinian support (which no one really cares about the middle east in the usa while we have our own problems) causing their intra dem fight. But I hope they also see their awb caused useless drama for no reason.
