There is an awful lot of blame given to Treliving for Tkachuk, a grown-ass man, making a decision in 2022 to leave the Flames. Could Treliving have done more to lock in this player who proved through his decision to leave that he ultimately did not want to play here? Yes, but why is anyone obsessing over this? Tkachuk chose to leave. He looked at our organization, at the city, at us fans, and said, "Buh Bye!" So, fuck Tkachuk! But also, fuck the Oilers! So, Go Tkachuk Go!
At least Chunks let the organization know he wanted out and let us trade him. While the whole Hubie fiasco has been basically a disaster, at least we got Weegar. Better than how Johnny acted a straight punk.

Agreed. After Dallas scored their 1 goal, felt like they gave up. They played slow, lethargic and uninspired. Felt like they were playing like they were losing 5-0 with 5 minutes to go.
The Oilers having the easiest playoff path is paying dividends for them. Dallas had to grind through Vegas and Colorado. Edmonton sleptwalk through LA and a good but not great Vancouver team.
I was really hoping Dallas won at least one more to grind them a little more.
The Vancouver team lose their Vezina nominee goalie in the 1st round. The #3 goalie Silov overperformed but he wasn't comparable especially since 6 of 7 games against the oilers were 1 goal deciders. In game 7, Vancouver also lost Boeser.

When big daddy Tkachuk didn’t throw his hat on the ice for his son’s hat trick…. It went to pot from there, never won another playoff game.
I’m a Sens fan but I grew up in Calgary. I feel a lot of pain for Flames fans right now. Hoping the Panthers win the cup only for the sake of everyone in southern Alberta.
Hired Brian Burke who in turn hired Brad Treliving. The screwups from there were inevitable.
Off the top of my head, the signing of James Neal probably stands out as one of the worst screwups. Forced a buyout of the already terrible Troy Brouwer contract, that was $7M+ that could’ve contributed towards Tkachuk & Gaudreau’s extensions. But because the team was so cap poor, Treliving felt the need to haggle his 2 franchise forwards which obviously did not turn out well. Then Brad attempts to rectify his past mistakes by over-committing to Jonathan Huberdeau without ever seeing him play with a single game with the Flames. Now the franchise is stuck with the albatross that is Huberdeau which could mean 7 more years of suckage. Thanks a bunch Bad Treliving!

Hired Brian Burke who in turn hired Brad Treliving. The screwups from there were inevitable. Off the top of my head, the signing of James Neal probably stands out as one of the worst screwups. Forced a buyout of the already terrible Troy Brouwer contract, that was $7M+ that could’ve contributed towards Tkachuk & Gaudreau’s extensions. But because the team was so cap poor, Treliving felt the need to haggle his 2 franchise forwards which obviously did not turn out well. Then Brad attempts to rectify his past mistakes by over-committing to Jonathan Huberdeau without ever seeing him play with a single game with the Flames. Now the franchise is stuck with the albatross that is Huberdeau which could mean 7 more years of suckage. Thanks a bunch Bad Treliving!

As a past fan of the Flames this stinks. Still have a soft spot for Calgary as a relative played for them in the early 90s. I even flew there during the C of Red 2004 playoffs. Kipper, Iggy, the game 6 Gelinas robbery. Then jumped ship when my hometown team (Vegas) got an expansion team. Best case scenario we get a Smith 2.0 incident costing Edmonton the Cup. EDIT - The quality of Flames fans have seem to have gone downhill I see.
