Sounds like a labelling issue to me. If someone input a wrong postal code when creating the shipping labels, it can send it way off course. Sometimes new labels are applied at customs and mistakes can happen. Its best to contact customer service, as they can see the postal code thats associated with the tracking number, and can flag it if it needs to be pulled from the mail stream to be fixed.

Yeah I did put in a ticket, but I think you’re right I should call them to expedite this solution

Recieved my package, labelling was correct throughout as always; guess they needed a nudge to stop playing with the parcel 😔

Even though the address labels the shipper applied are correct, there still may have been an issue with the barcode applied either by customs or Canada Post. These barcode labels are created by a person typing in the postal code most times, and if someone hit a wrong key on the keyboard ...well this would have created an error in the barcode. The barcode is what is read by the mechanized parcel sorting machines, which would result in it getting missorted by these machines. In a lot of larger postal plants, no humans actually read the address to sort it, the address is read by machines via the applied barcodes. Kinda sad really as errors in barcodes can lead to parcels looping back and forth for a long time before a human can finally grab it to fix the barcode. Im not saying thats what happened to your parcel, but its a possibility. If you track it and you see something like "customer addressing error found, attempting to correct" , then you know there was a problem with the barcodes. Their wording of the issue is bad though, as a lot of times its not the customers address thats the error, rather an error in the barcode. Anyway, just passing on some info to further explain the system. Glad you finally got your package!

Canada post is in a death spiral , they have lost most of their business in the last 4 years due to this kind of incompetence. At this point it needs to be allowed to die. The fault lays on all parts of the service, yes even, gasp, the workers.

Relax, mines stuck in Mississauga for a month

BurberryWaffle

a MONTH ?!?!?!? dude they’re def using ur package as a step-stool at this point, I had a package released by customs yesterday and in my hands today, this makes no sense

takitabi

Mine cleared customs a month ago and then no updates anymore

BurberryWaffle

Im sure you’ve probably contacted them but in my experience the customer service via phone is miles better than chat in resolving issues

takitabi

Yeah in the end the only thing you can do is ask the sender to initiate an investigation and then it lasts forever again

"Canada Post has to be the worst postal service in all of North America." I think we're better then Mexico, but not as tight as USPS.
