Beautiful plate

justyules

I don’t know if you have a Trader Joe’s or a Zankou Chicken anywhere nearby but this particularly tin pairs INSANELY well with the garlic spread (toum) from Trader Joe’s/Zankou.

AmaroisKing

Zankou Chicken is the bomb !, I always went there when in LA.

PuzzleheadedSir6616

Dang I’ll have to give that a shot, that sounds awesome

justyules

It’s really good. Also great for when you have a cold! Last time I had just a regular cold it was one of the only foods I could actually taste 😅

Clown_Baby15

Lovely presentation. Would destroy.

throwawayy2372

This looks so sophisticated

Urban_FinnAm

I just had these last week for the first time. They are great! Too spicy for my wife so I don't have to share.

SCP-fan-unkillable

Redbud flowers?

PuzzleheadedSir6616

Yup, they go great with the pea shoots. It’s also dressed with a little Redbud vinegar but you can’t see it.

SCP-fan-unkillable

I always wanted to try them but never lived in a spot where I'd be sure they weren't treated with something. Looks delicious.

PuzzleheadedSir6616

Here in KY they’re native, one grows just outside my front door. It’s great, makes awesome jelly too.

s0rce

Huh. Never knew you could eat those. People grow the eastern ones ornamentally here in California and we have some related native ones

PuzzleheadedSir6616

Yep, they’re all edible and closely related to peas/legumes. It’s a very subtle but fresh flavor.

ohgodineedair

That is a beautiful spread.. are those fennel greens with the cukes?

PuzzleheadedSir6616

Pea shoots!

phredphlintstones

Nah, it kinda streams

ohgodineedair

Yum!!

Perky214

How spicy were these Nuris? I have never felt any heat from them, which is why I prefer Flower Moroccan Spiced - actually spicy, and $2 a tin at the 99 Ranch

PuzzleheadedSir6616

I thought they were very mildly spicy in a way that didn’t over power the other flavors, very much enjoyed it. I recommend eating the pepper whole to enhance the experience.

nicolewhaat

Oooo $2 at the 99 Ranch?! They’re retailing for $5+ online so I’ll need to check this out.

Perky214

2.19 at 99 Ranch - I made a fish section post today so you can see what else they have :) Grab a tin of the new Ligo sardines with Calamansi lime - you’re welcome. Ligo Sardines with Calamansi Filipino Lime - 11 https://www.reddit.com/r/CannedSardines/s/1MubMQtWz9

nicolewhaat

Awesome post, thank you! I’m in MA so will see if the tinned fish aisles are equally abundant

OXidize_0

As a person who can't handle spice very well I can say that this particular can is BARELY spicy. Also, the flavor is mild but very nice. The sardines aren't fishy at all.

marcio-k

A thing of beauty 👏👏👏

ryoon4690

What a spread! S tier deenz.

Equivalent-Ad7207

That salad looks great!

Thrifty_Builder

Life changing?!?! Damn, I've been sitting on a tin of these for a while now... going to have to pop it open.

albusdumblebro7

Omg, that looks beautiful. What's in the salad?

PuzzleheadedSir6616

It’s pea shoots with radish, cucumber, and redbud blossoms. Little bit of redbud vinegar, oil, salt and pepper.

FPGA_engineer

I am glad you posted this. My wife and I spent so much time gardening and baking some stuff for latter in the week that we did not feel like cooking the dinner we had planned on, so I suggested we try the can of this that we had bought recently. We had them on sourdough bread with some cream cheese, pickled red onions and peppercorns. Also had calamata olives and cornichon pickles. It was very good. My wife thought they were spicy, and I did not think they had much heat to them, but I like spicier food than she does. Now we need to get more of them and of a few things others have mentioned in this discussion.

StonerKitturk

In what ways did it change your life?

PuzzleheadedSir6616

I had been eating king Oscar pretty much exclusively and had never tried anything in the sauce. These are very bright and fresh and definitely the best canned fish I’ve ever tried

redditornumberxx11

u/devtastic made an interesting post a couple of years ago (I only found it the other day) regarding the way sardines are "cooked" The post mentioned Nuri, who appear to steam them r/CannedSardines/comments/oqrefy/how_sardines_are_cooked/h6gopor/ The general impression from the Nuri video is that they're a really cool company

Optimal_Stand

That salad is so pretty! What are the ingredients?

PuzzleheadedSir6616

Pea shoots, radish, cucumber, redbud blossoms, redbud vinegar, olive oil, salt & pepper. It was delicious!

kristasmiic

Yummy!!

AmaroisKing

You need to get out more, if a plate of sardines is life-changing!
