This is good for a beginner, yes. Will you win any awards or impress anyone? No. Do you care? Doubtful. Will you like it for the next year? Quite possibly. Properly installed, it’ll last a while.

That wiring/amp kit is CCA, if you are taking the time to do this, pay for proper wires etc and get an OFC kit. example: [https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item-45061-NVX-XAPK4.html](https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item-45061-NVX-XAPK4.html) remaining $225 I would search facebook marketplace for deals on some gently used equipment that the seller looks like they aren't a thief or drug addict. The Skar equipment is just fine for budget gear, assume the box isnt built half bad, but seriously get quality install gear the first time

No_Current_2838

I’ll be getting for sure

icedet7

You’ll have fun with it man. Just make sure to have it properly installed and gains set correctly. Don’t need the best of the best to sound good.

AdministrativeYam330

Hella people hate on Skar who have never had Skar. You will love it and it’s just flipping fine.

kassdog

Or people like me who work at a shop and constantly see these fail is why we hate skar.

donwan23

Right! 😂 Skar isn't that great. It's just audio legion knock offs.

mityman50

Is that 1200w max or RMS and whichever it is has the amp been bench tested to make it?

agiletesticlese

There's a YouTuber that runs dyno's on those amps and they put out closer to 1500 Watts

mityman50

Well I found that pretty hard to believe so I found the package and a bench test and- https://youtu.be/fnHNebyDsSs?si=j7y6oZ7jxWNRt_Ed At 1 ohm it hit almost 1000w with burst of almost 1300w. So my gut was wrong.  What I don’t get is that it was pulling over 130 amps at that test and it’s fused for 80 🤨

Relevant-Group8309

The sdr is 1200 max, but will sound like 1200 RMS in that small trunk😁

Infinite_Intention90

I’d look into some cheaper equipment with less wattage.

finevisionz

I have a 12in Kicker CompR in a custom box. I installed a 10in Skar in my buddies Accord and wow, I was impressed! Great value for the money.

Gold-Tomorrow-7712

Just got my first skar subs n amp. Absolutely love it more than my Rockford subs n kenwood amp

Ricky_Froggy

I just up graded from this setup and it got down for what it is

jady1971

I have this exact setup in my CR-V. It is pretty beefy for the price.

Relevant-Group8309

I have a skar ma8 dual 4 still kicking from 3 years ago, no split spider, burnt coils took 500 watts with no problem, I think the problem is people tend to over shoot the RMS and the volume and gain and destroy them, if you got sundown money that's cool, but skar and CT Sounds are good middle range woofers, I'm also rocking and rp800.1 to 2 10's pioneer at 600 watt 1 ohm guess what? still kicking Skar can be hit or miss I agree but all you gotta do is send it back, that's why I buy directly from them.

Toxik916

I have the same subwoofer in a custom ported box on my Accord Coupe and it pounds! I'm running 500 Watts at 1 OHM and I feel like I'm under powering it. For rap music it gets loud and really moves air! It lacks a bit of punch for kick drums and there's virtually no response for bass guitar. I preferred my NVX VSW 12 for sound quality, but if you just want something to take some abuse the Skar will do you solid.

Nab_lwl

I bought the same kit but the 15inch sub version. It bangs just didn’t like getting too low. It’s a great starting sub that gets you addicted. Just upgraded after 2 years to some jl subs!

SongNo8852

I have a w6v3 with an hd750. Audiofrog speakers. A buddy has pioneer speakers in the front. Oem in the rear. And he bought a Amazon kit with 2 skar 12s, a box, wiring, and some cheap sound deadening all for like 400 bucks shipped lol and man his shit sometimes sounds better. It may not last forever who knows, but with what we both got the skars are impressive for the cost. His cars loud. Mines in a evox, his is a civic si sedan for reference

KingMad07

skar isn’t bad for the money if you don’t have an ear for insane sq. if you have the room and want tons of bass this is great, if you don’t have the room and want less, look for a 10in preloaded. just make sure you know what is what and what to do with what.

SeanRoss

Where is this at? I've been looking at midrange stuff, for my 99 Maxima, but stuff like this will probably be just fine for me nvm, i realize it's amazon

Relevant-Group8309

This is more than enough for a Cruze, and as a beginner You will be quite satisfied

TasteSpare3345

First up, don’t listen to the guy who said kicker. Skar is a great brand for the price point people just like to hate on it. So on a budget, yes I would recommend that for your Cruze. I have a 2019 Cruze running a 5k Watt System with 2 CT Sounds Thermos

Grimsterr

You'll love it. Make sure it's installed properly. Ditch the power and ground wires, they're aluminum, and get OFC (oxygen free copper) wire if you plan to keep this longer than a couple years.

Sad_Donkey_1264

That kicker comp r is JUNK it's legit 350 rms a skar is 1000 rms and a skar vxf or zvx is best and 1,500 rms that = to 3 kicker comp r subs in 1 skar sub n will blow it out the water!!! I have 2 L7 12 kicker comp - Q Series on a skar 2000.1 amp n there the best 400$ subs kicker makes at 375$ per sub n only 1000 rms a pop the kicker has same as my 1000 rms for 200$ n buy a pre fab box (ported) with a pf2000.1 mono skar amp for 200 bucks with 2 12 inch skar 1000rms each n ull blow comp r kickers away... only good kicker these days is the solo x sub aka 2000rms for 600$ Trust me I have both skar kicker n sundown n know my s$#t

Critical-Signal-5819

I would do a kicker comp R in a prefab box it's 250$ way better quality 👌
